Bloodline Reckoning: The System Made Me Filthy Rich

Chapter 109: How Dare You Ruin My Reputation?

A sudden flash of panic crossed Jared's face before his expression twisted into fury.

In one abrupt move, he grabbed Noah's collar. "You son of a bitch, how dare you ruin my reputation before my father-in-law?"

Noah chuckled to himself, observing the family's habits and noting how they often resorted to physical violence whenever emotions ran high.

"Uncle, calm the fuck down. Why do you think I've been speaking badly about you to Lucas Graham?" Noah asked, ignoring Jared Morgan's rising frustration.

Jared narrowed his eyes at Noah just before loosening his grip. His loud sigh made it clear; this man was finally letting go of a burden that had been weighing heavily on his chest.

"I know you're only trying to play the good guy with this family, Noah," Jared said, staring ahead, his hands hanging loosely at his sides while his fists remained clenched tight.

Then, Jared continued, "But I can see right through it. You're only pretending to be good to us. You've been badmouthing me and my family behind my back to my father-in-law. I know because he told me..." His gaze snapped back to Noah, a hateful flash in his eyes.

'Fuck you, Lucas Graham!' Noah couldn't help but curse the old man. He had already asked him not to mention their conversation, but he still went ahead and spilled it.

'Is he trying to create a rift between me and the Morgans? Or is he planning to exploit our conflict to take all the wealth of my foolish Uncle Jared's own? Oh that fucker!' He could only sigh deeply, set aside his suspicion, and fix his gaze on Jared.

Noah calmly replied, "Uncle, I don't know for sure what he told you. Whatever it is, I couldn't care less. But you must know that I was honest with him. I have always been. I would be foolish enough to lie to someone with a solid background like Lucas Graham. And I am no fool."

He looked at Jared with a seemingly mocking smile, "I wonder if Uncle dares challenge Lucas Graham? That's why he's trying to pressure you."

Jared Morgan shot Noah a sharp glare like a slap before shouting, "Don't blame me for this, Noah. I know you're an impostor. My brother Anderson doesn't have a son like you. Because what? Because you're so stupid!"

Hearing Jared Morgan's harsh words instead of getting angry, Noah laughed, dark and furious. It amused him to see this old man struggling so desperately to pin the blame on him.

But Noah couldn't deny it. He is the one who exposed Jared in the media, leading to a legal divorce battle with his wife.

"Even if I'm an impostor, what are you going to do? Planning to steal my father's fortune, Uncle? Keep dreaming..." Noah said, then took the last puff of his cigarette, flicked it to the concrete, and crushed it underfoot.

"Alright, Uncle Jared, your time is running out..." Noah added playfully, though Jared Morgan was seething. "Till we meet again." He said and turned away.

Jared felt his blood boil. He struck his own head in frustration, no longer able to restrain the rage boiling inside. He stormed after Noah, shouting, "You think you can walk away? Stay here, bastard, or I will..."

His steps came to an abrupt stop, and his voice died in his throat as he caught sight of Noah's gaze—no longer playful or calm, but dangerous and ice-cold.

Seeing Noah like this made Jared's heart seize with sudden fear, a crushing pressure freezing the blood in his veins.

Noah raised his hand and placed it firmly on Jared Morgan's shoulder. His eyes still carried a chilling threat that left Jared frozen, staring back at him with fury, yet unable to speak as if the words refused to leave his lips.

With a slight smirk tugging at his mouth, Noah spoke in a low, cold tone, each word aimed to strip away Jared's mask. "Are you trying to say you'll send assassins to kill me... AGAIN? Even when you've learned what happened the last time?"

Instantly, Jared Morgan's face turned pale. Still, he tried to appear composed and blurted out hurriedly, "Y-You... what are you talking about? What do you mean?" His voice shook along with his eyes as he pretended not to understand what Noah was accusing him of.

A dark smirk played on Noah's lips as he watched his uncle's expression shift; he was no longer angry, but terrified.

"Uncle, haven't you noticed something?"

Jared's eyebrows lifted slightly at Noah's question. His confusion deepened, but he chose to stay silent, afraid of giving something away. He knew his nephew was clever, too clever. 'Could he be recording this... Right?'

"No wonder you didn't notice. Your brain's running slow, Uncle..." Noah smiled coldly and tightened his grip on Jared's shoulder.

"Noah, what are you trying to say?" Jared asked.

"Do you know why everyone you sent couldn't kill me?"

"I didn't send... Aaghhh..." Jared screamed as his shoulder felt like it was being crushed.

"No need to deny it, Uncle. I know everything, and I hold all the evidence. And do you want to know where those people you sent ended up? I killed them all. Every single person you sent. Dead."

Noah paused, letting a slight smile spread across his lips, amused by Jared's comically shocked expression; his eyes bulging as if they might pop out.

"And I don't mind doing the same to you... I mean, killing their employer as well..."

Jared shook his head in denial, but he knew it was useless. Noah likely had every piece of proof tying him to the hired assassins.

Even now, Jared still seethes over those fake killers who claimed they couldn't carry out the job. With so much negative news about him in the media, he can't sue those people who steal his money for something they can't do.

"No need to feel guilty, Uncle..." Noah said with a cold smile, the corner of his upper lip curling slightly. "You don't need to... because I've already taken my revenge on you."

Jared Morgan's brow furrowed and his eyes narrowed, trying to grasp Noah's meaning. But it didn't take him long to understand.

"Noah Morgan... W-Was it you who leaked those inappropriate videos? Did you cause this entire disaster for me?" Jared's breath quickened as fury surged through him.

Noah didn't reply with words, but his smile said enough. That smirk alone ignited Jared's rage like gasoline to fire.

His heart pounded harder as he shouted, "Noah, how dare you do that?! Do you have any idea how much damage you've done to the company? We're on the edge of bankruptcy! If Father, your uncle, and your aunties find out... it'll be your death sentence for sure!!"

Jared's frightening and angry expression suddenly shifted to a gleeful one, as if he had just won the lottery.

"Haha, you're in trouble, Noah! I'll tell your grandparents how wicked you are, trying to destroy me and the Morgan family… You're a fucking devil!"

Noah was rendered speechless.

A storm of questions now filled his mind:

'Isn't he the truly evil one? He sent a killer to take my life. He's the one dragging the Morgan name through the mud. But now, this idiot Jared Morgan is blaming me? Did he forget to bring his brain when he came here? Or is he simply the most heartless, shameless person I've ever met in my entire life?'

Noah silently cursed him in his thoughts, knowing full well his uncle was utterly, irredeemably stupid.

"Uncle, go ahead... walk in there and tell them," Noah said with a calm smile. "Once they find out you sent an assassin to kill me, just imagine what'll happen… And of course, I won't stay quiet. I'll have my lawyer file a lawsuit against you."

Noah paused as Jared Morgan's face turned as pale as paper.

Adding fuel to the fire in Jared's collapsing mind, Noah continued, "You'll lose everything, Uncle. Not just your wife and wealth, but your entire family. Oh, and I almost forgot… You might rot in prison for..."

"STOP IT!! STOP!" Jared shouted, his voice trembling with fury. His face felt like it was on fire, as if every drop of blood in his body had surged to blow up.

Jared Morgan wanted to lash out, to scream in protest, but everything Noah had said was true. He knew he couldn't reveal the truth. Not without destroying himself.

All he could do was grit his teeth and clench his fists tightly as he watched Noah walk away out of his sight.

After Noah was out of sight, a cold smile appeared on his lips, and he whispered, "You think you're the only one who's smart, Noah? I recorded everything... I just need to edit it and give it to my father, and the others will believe it."

He didn't think Noah had any proof that he had hired a dangerous assassin to come after him. That kid's just bluffing!
