Chapter 58: AM THIRSTY
Dragging herself towards the carriage, she entered and sat across the king who had his eyes closed.
"Good afternoon, your Majesty," Florah greeted while bowing to receive no response from the man.
The king knocked on the side of the carriage for it to start and ignored her, which would be the best possibility to come out for her, but she didn't want to raise her hopes just yet.
"Am thirsty." Gavriel voiced after a while.
And there it was, Florah thought. Looking around the carriage, she desperately hoped to maybe find a flask of blood or water hidden somewhere.
Gavriel opened his dark red eyes to look at the girl who was visibly panicking but tried to mask it.
"Come here." He called
Florah heart beat spiked the moment she looked at his eyes. They were blank but tainted in malice.
There colour, she hadn't seen them in that colour before.
Before, his eyes were dark but still bright compared to how they were at the moment.
She had heard him call her, but she didn't make an attempt to go to him even once.
Gavriel looked at her and knew that she was scared of him, 'Was it his gorgeous eyes that scared her?' He wondered, and a playful smirk graced his face.
"If you won't come, then let me do so, my liege." He said sarcasm laced in his voice
Before Florah could move a muscle, Gavriel moved his long arms closer to her and pulled her to his lap, which tore her dress more in the process.
The moment Florah heard the tear, her eyes widened, almost popping out of her skull.
She looked at Gavriel, whose boisterous laugh filled the carriage further embarrassing the poor girl.
Florah prayed for it to be a false alarm, but she felt a minimal cold air hit her back confirming that her dress had indeed been ripped and the perpetrator was laughing at her.
She slightly glared at him, making him stop laughing and look at her.
"You made enemies on your first day, Red. What a talent!!" He praised.
'Enemies, what enemies?' Florah thought, but then it dawned upon her, the woman that was slandering her name. But how does that have to do anything with her...'Ohhhh, but I didn't do anything to her." She thought in confusion.
'Why would she...' Before she fully drowned in her thoughts,
"I am thirsty." Gavriel said agai, looking at her neck. His fingers travelled to her neck.
His eyes locked with her scared ones while his fingers caressed her neck, specifically the areas that he felt her blood tarvel fastest.
What didn't help her situation was her holding her breath, which made the blood travel faster, further enticing the vampire.
"Please don't hurt me." Florah said, finally finding her voice.
"Who said anything about hurting you?" Gavriel asked, raising his brow.
"Well, you said you were..th..thirsty." She stuttered under intense gaze
"So..?" he continued to raffle her emotions as he heard her heart rise each passing minute, her composure she held on to moments ago, just floated out of the carriage.
"Well, you said you were thirsty and you y....." Florah stuttered while she trailed off her thoughts jumbled.
"Did you think I was going to drink your blood?" Gavriel asked, raising his brows in askance.
Florah meekly nodded, looking down.
"Hmmm," Gavriel hummed and looked at her as if she had lost her mind.
"Why would I drink blood of a creature that I do not know?" Gavriel asked mockingly
Florah felt like a small prickly thorn had been thrown into her heart when he asked that question.
'But he was right. Why would he drink the blood of a creature that barely knew what she was as well?' She asked herself inwardly
That question bothered her the moment she had her first spasm, but she hadn't even gotten close to finding out why, what or who she was?
While she was lost in her thoughts, she didn't see how the pureblood's eyes became darker while he stared at her neck, his fingers feeling how her blood flowed seamlessly.
Looking into her eyes, Gavriel said, yet again, "I am thirsty."
His statement brought Florah back from her thoughts, and her eyes clashed with his.
If Florah wasn't terrified enough from his eyes before, now she was.
Black veins crawled under Gavriel's eyes, and his eyes were darker if that was even possible.
His hold on her became tighter. Their bodies had no space between them as he held her against his chest like she was his only support.
"Oh no, I am going to die." Florah felt like sobbing
His hold on her left no room for her to even try wiggle away. Their position bothered her, but his dangerous gaze held her in place.
Every fibre of her being told her to stay away from him, and she agreed with every bit of it.
She cursed her fate because why was it her that had to be in such a situation.
" Your Majesty, if you're thirsty, why don't you tell me what you want to quench your thirst with?" Florah carefully asked, looking everywhere but at his eyes because it was clear that they terrified her.
"What do vampires drink to quench their thirst?" Gavriel asked in a guttural voice that Florah wasn't sure was his anymore.
"They drink, bl.. blood, Your Majesty. " Florah stuttered, scared to her wits.
"Then give me blood," the king demanded
