Blade of the Goddess

Chapter 301 - The battle that determines the fate of the world

Energy erupted from Bahamut's body as he released the full extent of his power. His form shifted, scales growing over his skin, hands turning into claws, and a tail grew from his back, paired with wings.

On top of this, the power of Bahamut's siblings was channeled through his body, raising his strength to heights he had never seen before.

"Tremble before my true power!"

Zion laughed. He couldn't help himself. He knew Bahamut was powerful, and he could feel it. His power made Zion's skin crawl, but he wasn't scared. No, he was excited. He was looking forward to this battle.

"Honestly, I expected you to be slightly more impressive, but hey, that's all good. I'm satisfied with your current strength."

Bahamut gave Zion a nasty look. "What? Are you saying that you're stronger than me?"

"Ha, nah. I'll admit that I'm not stronger than the current you. However, you still wont be able to kill me." Zion's body erupted into a massive red flame that engulfed his entire body with sparks of red lightning crackling here and there.

The fire wasn't burning, nor was it hot. However, Bahamut could feel the immense pressure it gave off. It wasn't flames that were burning; it was pure divine energy vibrating so fast that it resembled fire and lightning.

"W-What is this?! How come you don't have the power of Luminera and Erebosa?" Everything Bahamut had planned, all of his traps, his entire confidence was built upon Zion having the power of his mothers, yet, he didn't anymore.

"Really? You're a god, and you don't know? Why don't you have the same power as Luminera and Erebosa, even though you are their child? The answer is simple: you are your own god."

His eyes widened. "S-So you created your own bond with the will of the world, solidifying yourself as a new god of this world? How come I didn't feel it?! I should have felt it! I can feel Luminera and Erebosa, so why cant I feel you?!"

"While I originally started off that way, things changed after I met Gaia. She severed my connection with the will of the world, basically making me a freelance God."

"I-Impossible! Only Titans are disconnected from the will of their world."

Zion smirked. "Tell that to a primordial."

He clapped his hands, raw, powerful divine energy spreading throughout Bahamut's entire divine realm. The realm trembled, cracking under the sheer intensity of Zion's power, then completely shattered, being replaced with a heavenly realm of his own creation.

"Where is this place?" Bahamut asked

"It's my previous world, or at least a replication of it I recreated from memory. In this place, I died fighting against a monster that could have destroyed humanity's last stronghold, so I thought it would be fitting to kill you, my final enemy, in this place as well."

"Do you think that-"

"Shut the fuck up! I'm going to kill you now!"

Zion charged forward, each step fracturing the ground beneath him, his power pressing down like a storm. In a flash, a blade of pure divine energy formed in his hand. He swung it wide, releasing a crescent-shaped slash that tore through the air toward Bahamut.

"You think that'll stop me?!" Bahamut snarled, thrusting out his hand to catch the attack, but Zion was already gone.

"Peekaboo," came a voice behind him.

"What the-"

Before Bahamut could turn, another crescent-shaped slash carved through the air. The two slashes converged with him trapped between, detonating on impact with a blinding force.

The wings on Bahamut's back flapped, blowing away the smoke that lingered in the air. On his forehead, blood was dripping from a small gash, slightly angled because of Bahamut's angry expression.

He stomped once, and a magic circle erupted beneath his feet, glowing with power. Extending his left hand, a second circle materialized in the air ahead of him. With a roar, he drove his right fist into the circle, and the circle shattered open.

Millions of bladed weapons exploded outward, unleashed like a storm, each one locked onto Zion with ruthless precision.

To Zion, the world slowed to a crawl. His mind was clear, his gaze razor-sharp. Every blade, every movement, traced itself in perfect clarity. His heart pounded, not from fear, but from pure, unfiltered exhilaration.

He tapped a blade that veered too close, nudging it just enough to redirect its path. A spear came for his head, he tilted slightly, and it sailed past. To any observer perceiving time as he did, Zion appeared almost bored, calmly weaving through the storm of weapons, brushing some aside, casually sidestepping others, and strolling past those that posed no threat at all.

But to the ordinary eye, Zion was a blur, his movements so fast it seemed he had dozens of arms, each deflecting a weapon with inhuman speed. His body flickered across the battlefield, leaving behind a trail of afterimages, as if light itself struggled to keep up.

"I'm not done yet!" Bahamut spread his fingers, pressing his palm flat against the magic circle. Its crimson glow shifted, green patterns snaked across its surface like veins of power. Then, with a thunderous hum, a second magic circle materialized behind it, twice the size and glowing an ominous blue.

The mana around Bahamut surged, doubling, tripling, then skyrocketing beyond measure. One by one, new magic circles flared into existence, each larger and more intricate than the last, until five hung in the air, each pulsing with a different, radiant color.

"I'll blow you away with this one! [SUPREME DRAGON GOD: ROAR]" Bahamut bellowed. A cataclysmic breath tore from his maw, a torrent of raw destruction hurtling toward Zion. Everything in its path was obliterated, mountains vaporized, space distorted, and even Zion's divine realm began to crack under the overwhelming force.

It was the most powerful attack Zion had ever faced, an overwhelming force that could erase worlds. But he didn't flinch. Instead, he smiled, a spark of thrill in his eyes. This was exactly the kind of challenge he lived for.

He funneled every ounce of power into his index finger, the red flames swirling around him fading until all the energy pulsed there. Eyes fixed on the iridescent inferno rushing forward, his finger ignited with a blazing red light, then suddenly vanished into thin air.

[Divine Sacred Art: Dimensional Void] He swung his finger downward, and the very fabric around them fractured. Zion's divine realm, space, time, reality itself, even Bahamut's spell and Bahamut himself, all cracked under the strain. Then, with a thunderous explosion, everything shattered and detonated into oblivion.
