Chapter 289 - The Gods have come
Luminera thought about Zion's words, and it made sense in her head. Not only that, she trusted Zion fully, and his opinion was something she valued.
"Let's put the barrier back up, then." She nodded
Then it happened, the shaking of the world, the cracking of the sky, and a loud booming noise that made thunder sound like a joke. The fact that the three of them felt this in Zion's fracture meant that something serious was going on in the middle world.
Zion immediately called Tessa. "Fuck! Tessa, what's going on?!"
[Four beings just descended from the sky. According to my memories, they're the gods!]
"Fuck!"
All of them teleported back to the middle world, and the entire place was breaking. The gods had descended in their true forms, shifting the balance of power tremendously without a care in the world.
"ZION ZAGAN! HERETIC! BLASPHEMER! STEP OUTSIDE NOW, OR WE WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING YOU CHERISH." A tall, muscular man shouted.
"Arion." Erebosa sneered.
"Zion, stay back. You're too weak. Protect the land."
"Every kingdom is already on total lockdown. Every bit of my defences is up. I made sure of that." He looked around to see five supermassive metallic domes made of Zionite that protected each kingdom in its entirety. The domes were protected by two more domes made of magic and technology, and on the inside of the metal dome were two more domes made of magic and technology.
Around all of that was Zion's most powerful weapons he had ever created, alongside his entire army, which was on standby, fully decked out in the latest technology and as powerful as they could be.
"Still, you should stay back," Luminera warned.
Then, Tessa flew down next to him as she, too, would take part in this battle if needed.
Luminera and Erebosa flew toward the four gods that had descended to the middle world.
Arion, the god of war and speed. Freya, the goddess of magic. Ivaldi, the god of metalworking and fire. And Cernunnos, the god of nature and the wild.
"Hello, mothers." They greeted Arion greeted them.
"Save it. Do you seriously wish to disrupt the balance of the world with your presence?" Luminera asked.
"Do you think we care about something so trivial? Your apostle disrupted the balance that we had for over 10,000 years. Why do you not complain about that?" Arion grinned.
Erebosa scoffed. "Last time I checked, Zion wasn't causing the world to tremble."
"Last time I checked, your entire domain was purged by the sentinels." Arion retorted. "It seems like they forgot one."
"You!"
Luminera calmed her sister. "I do not mind fighting you, because I will kill you. But if were destroy the world, then we'll all die."
That's when Freya stepped in. "We have nothing to lose anyway. You kill us, you win. We destroy the world, nobody does."
"And if you win?"
Freya shrugged. "Then we win."
"Oh, is that Zion over there? I've been wanting to kill that little runt after what he did to my apostle!" Arion's power surged, but a golden barrier prevented him from doing anything.
"You're fighting us." Erebosa smiled.
"Hahahahahahahahaha! Mothers!" Cernunnos laughed. "You would step in the way of a man's hunt? That is against the rules of nature. We'll deal with you AFTER we kill your apostle."
"It seems you didn't hear me the first time."
BOOOOOOOOOOM
Luminera and Erebosa transformed. Luminera's body because pure golden energy with an aura of golden fire that turned white around the top. Erebosa looked the same, except she was silver, and her fiery-silver aura turned purple toward the top.
Their power made the world scream, and everything started shaking violently.
"Don't think that will scare us." Arion laughed.
He and his siblings transformed as well. Arion became a man made of armor, Freya's body morphed into pure magic, Ivaldi's body grew in size, his skin turned bronze, and fire erupted from his hair and arms. Cernunnos became a giant lycanthrope with sharp, deadly claws and fangs.
"Even if you two are more powerful now, you still can't take on the four of us." Arion smirked behind his helmet.
"We'll see about that." Erebosa grinned.
"Wait, where's Bahamut?!" Luminera noticed that one of them was missing.
Freya chuckled. "Ahh, finally realized it? Well, the oaf decided to stay back in the heavenly realm. He thought it would be best to, you know, destroy your home."
"Dammit!" Luminera flew upward in a panic. If their divine realm was destroyed, then they would lose half their power, and if that happened, she wouldn't be able to properly protect the world until she rebuilt it.
But her rushing off made Arion slip past them, charging forward to Zion.
"Shit! Arion!" Erebosa was pissed off by her sister's sudden panic. "Lumi! Get back here, as long as my hell realm is fine, you'll be okay! Hurry!" She blasted the three gods, pushing them back so they wouldn't follow Arion.
Luminera bit her lip. "Dammit! I was careless! I'm going to save Zion!"
"No! You can't! We have to stop them first! Trust him!"
She closed her eyes, thinking about the danger she had just put her apostle in, but gave up, trusting that Zion could take care of him himself. "Please don't die."
---
"I'm gonna fucking die! Hurry! Into the dome!" Zion shouted as he teleported inside the dome alongside Tessa.
But even if the dome was strong enough to withstand the power of a demigod, in the face of a god, it was pointless.
Arion shattered the dome like paper, then spotted Zion running away. "Heh, there you are!"
"Tessa! Go help the twins!"
"What? Are you mad?! I wont leave you to die! We fight together!"
"I appreciate that, but they're fighting three gods, and there are only two of them! They might need your help!"
"But you could die!" She had a troubled expression, not wanting to leave his side. Zion was her creator, her master, her best friend. She didn't like seeing him get hurt.
But he smiled and gave her a thumbs up. "Don't worry, I'm immortal!" He then activated his nano suit, both of them, and took off into the sky.
"Hahaha! Zion Zagan! You're not going anywhere!" Arion followed him into the sky, and the barrier that protected the kingdom slowly repaired itself.
"Don't die on me, Zion." Tessa flew in the opposite direction to help Luminera and Erebosa.
