Blade of the Goddess

Chapter 269 - "You're Insane!"

Every single one of Zion's arrows was destroyed by Circe's Divine Art. The clash of gold and red filled the air, changing the color of the sky.

At first glance, Zion thought they ripped a hole into the demon world, but the sky began to clear, revealing the blue it normally had.

Circe grinned, floating above Zion to show dominance. "I'm impressed. You're able to use Divine Arts already. That normally takes years of practice."

He didn't answer but was already preparing his next move.

"What? Too shocked by my power? I'll have you know that Bahamut is the strongest of the gods. Do you know what this means for me?"

"That you're arrogant?" He asked

"Heh, no. It means that I'm the strongest of the Demigods!"

Zion smiled. "So what would that mean for him when I kill you?"

"It means that you're delusional."

"Haha, you're right. I am pretty messed up in the head." Zion rushed at her, but Circe teleported him away. He landed on the ground, looked up, and saw Circe attempting to crush his skull.

Zion easily moved out of the way, kneeing the dragon in her stomach and blasting her in the chest with divine energy.

"Haha!" She stuck out her tongue, which reached down and wrapped around Zion's neck.

"Argh! Gross!" He was pulled up to her, where she, at point-blank range, blasted him with her dragon's breath.

"You're breath stinks!" Her breath eroded, and a dark energy seeped into her mouth, burning it.

"Aghhgh! W-What was that?!"

"Infernal energy, you dumbass!"

Circe and Zion continued to fight brutally, trading blows and Divine Arts. He even used the ancient relics to help him out, but the battle was still a tough one.

Circe, alongside the Grimoire of Knowledge, cast a plethora of ancient spells Zion had never seen or heard of before.

He managed to block some, but he wasn't so lucky every time. Still, he didn't let that slow him down.

Circe was simply a beast when it came to her power. She had been alive for over 100,000 years, and it was showing. Not to mention, Zion had just become a Demigod not too long ago and wasn't familiar with his new power.

Still, by using everything at his disposal, Zion was able to keep up with her, which only pissed Circe off even more.

'Fuck! I have to admit it, he's way stronger than I thought. I'd hope it wouldn't come to this, but I have no choice.' Circe activated the power that Bahamut gave her, and it completely changed the tides of the battle, not just for her, but for her army as well.

Circe was filled with so much divine power that the world literally screamed. Her troops were greatly enhanced in power, allowing them to greatly overpower Zion's army.

'How the fuck did he do that?! That's impossible!'

'Luminera? What's going on? Talk to me!'

'Bahamut, that bastard! He gave her a God essence!'

'A God Essence? What's that?'

'It's the demigod version of descending into your apostle. The only difference is that instead of sending a part of your mind and power into the vessel, you only send your power. But the thing that makes it so powerful and dangerous is that it forcefully turns the demigod into a god.'

Zion's eyes widened. 'T-Then....'

'Yes. She's currently a god. While not a true god, so she doesn't have the same level of power as Bahamut or me, she's still a god.'

"Fuck! Amaya, merge!"

"Yes!"

Zion and Amaya merged into one. He wanted to use her as a trump card in case things went south, but he never expected Circe to have a trump card on this level.

[Heaven's Bane, merge with your spirits!] Tessa ordered everyone.

With everyone doing so, they were able to better fight back against the enhanced dragons.

"A little spirit won't change anything."

Zion turned to his left, where Circe's voice came from, but she wasn't there.

"Where are you looking?"

In the blink of an eye, Zion blasted the voice that now came from behind him. But like before, she wasn't there.

It was then that he felt his spine shatter from a kick that was so powerful, he almost passed out instantly.

His spine healed, and he turned around to fight back, but Circe had already grabbed his head and blew it up.

Zion's head grew back, but he was already slammed into the ground and kicked so hard he bounced off of space itself.

He retreated into his fracture, but Circe simply punched it open and dragged him out of it.

"Fuck! Divine Art: Blade of the Goddess!" He used his most powerful divine art, the one that he knew how to use even before he could use Divine Arts. But Circe wasn't having it. Before he could even use it against her, she cut off his arms and held him by the throat.

"Any last words?!"

"Agh...Y-Yeah. Boom." He smirked

"What are you-"

*BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*

Zion launched everything. Missiles, nukes, bombs, Space lasers, everything he had in his arsenal. He didn't care anymore. He just launched them all.

They bombarded the battlefield and even Hylaea itself. However, because of their suits and neural implants, none of the weapons affect Zion or his troops. So they could still fight in the chaos.

"What are you doing?! Stop this!" She squeezed his throat tighter.

"Haha, fuck that. You may be powerful, but do you have the drive, the will to get something done at any cost?"

She faltered. "What are you-"

"Would you destroy the world for your mission? Would you exterminate an entire race just to claim victory? I would!"

"You're insane!"

"Hahahaha! I know! And you're dead!"

The entire sky lit up, and hexagonal shapes filled the atmosphere. It covered the entire world, and everyone, no matter where they were, could see this phenomenon.

"W-What are you doing?" Circe dropped Zion. She knew he had crazy weapons, but nothing that could fill the entire sky.

"You wanna know where I keep my most powerful weapons? Well, it's in space!"

"S-Space?" She asked

"Ahh, let me say it in a term you'll understand...The sea of stars."

Her eyes widened. "T-That's impossible! Only gods can travel in the sea of stars!"

"What the fuck do you think I am?! Only a god...can do something like this!" Although he wasn't one, there wasn't anything wrong with hyping himself up.

A large part of the hexagon that sat over the dragon kingdom was removed, and the world started shaking. Up in the sky, a large object started falling fast toward the planet. At first, it looked like a comet, then a meteor, but as it came closer, its true size was revealed.

"N-No way."

"He's insane."

"Sigh, really Zion."

"Does he want to kill us all?!"

"Luminera! Your apostle is crazy! Stop him now!" Erebosa yelled.

"Haha, he said he had a plan, but I didn't know it was like this."

Circe dropped to her knees. "Is that...the moon?"
