BLACK CLOVER: Through the Looking Glass

"Whoa…"

"It looks amazing."

"Yes, it does." Wilhelm said being enamored by the sight as much as his teammates.

The sight that waited for them in front of the tunnel had platforms, rectangular in shape and elevated at different heights. The place was abundant in mana, and Wilhelm could see blue glowing small particles that irradiated the whole place with light. Not only that, the place had a stream of water-like liquid flowing not only on the ground but on the side walls and the roofs.

Looking around, Luck commented, "Ahahahaha~This place is filled with mana."

"Yes, I have never seen a place brimming with this much mana." Noelle said with awe on her face.

"Eh, but I cannot feel any mana."

"Maybe that is because you don't have any mana." Wilhelm quipped back at Asta, who turned to his and gave him a teary-eyed look and then falling on his knees, shouted, "That is not fair! I also want to feel mana."

"Sad. But anyway, let's mov-"

*BOOM*

Wilhelm's sentence could not be completed as the ground in front of him blew up in his face, shattering the figure that then settled down to the ground as shards of glass, and from the air, his figure appeared again, looking at look with a displeased look, who was cackling like a madman.

"Heheheh~"

"Luck, stop triggering traps." Wilhelm said following which, Asta and Noelle chimed in, "Yeah Luck, stop doing that, you almost killed Wilhelm." Asta said as he shook his dominant arm.

"Yes, we have to be careful." Noelle added, following which Luck's eyes glinted with mischief and…

"A trap like…this!"

…he jumped into a trap.

"F*ck you." Wilhelm said with a deadpan as the trap activated and threw lightning at them which Asta hurriedly defended themselves from with his claymore.

"Luck, stop!" Noelle shouted at which, Luck cackled madly and jumped to activate another trap, from which Asta defended the group. This thing kept on repeating due to which, unlike the other people in the group, Wilhelm was contemplating something else entirely.

'Right now, he is nothing but a liability, and though I can neutralize him, I don't think the people back at the base will take kindly to me for fighting their crew member. Maybe they will be understanding but I am letting something as important as my future in the squad.'

As Wilhelm was thinking of a way to rid himself of a problem named Luck, the solution presented itself.

For a moment, Luck stood completely still and sent a brief pulse of mana that only Wilhelm among the group could detect due to his strong magic sense, following which Luck immediately jerked and his smile lengthened into something uneasy and he shouted, "Something important came. I am leaving the dungeon to you guys."

"Hey wait..!"

"You cannot…!"

The rest two protested but it fell on deaf ears as Luck just cackled once again and left them all by themselves.

"…"

"Did he just do that?" Noelle asked with disbelief.

"Yes, he did." Asta said with a gobsmacked face.

"God kill me." Noelle said as she faced palmed and walked a bit in front when…

*Znnnn*

With a faint sound, the trap activated from there came green vines that wrapped themselves around Noelle who shrieked in fright.

"AHHH!!!! WHAT IS THIS!!! HELP ME!!!!"

"Noelle!! Wait! I will save you!" Asta said as he swung his sword at the vines, momentarily freeing Noelle from the vines, but they regrew around them.

"Argh!" Asta voiced as it just kept on growing and started to restrict him as well, and it was not long before Asta too was covered with vines all over his body and hanging in the air.

"Way to help Asta."

"Hey, I tried."

"Well, you should have tried harder." Noelle complained as Wilhelm watched the pair without blinking with a single thought in his mind.

'Girl + Vines/Tentacles = Japanese Paradise

No, I must stop it! Noelle must be protected.'

"Wilhelm, help me!"

'Asta too.'

Then he raised his hand out used magic.

"Mirror Magic: Shard Saw"

Shards of glass formed and started to spin around in an arc, and launched themselves onto the vines, tearing through them, as a result of which Asta and Noelle fell on their butt.

"Ouch!" Asta shouted.

"Oww! You could have let me down slowly." Noelle said in pain as she rubbed her behind, leveling a glare at Wilhelm who said with an amused expression, wiggling his brows, "I could have left you there too and enjoyed the sight too, you know?"

At this, Noelle shut up and Wilhelm was about to continue when he felt something trigger his magic sense.

'Somebody is here. 3 mana signature. From behind. Arrival time: 10 seconds.' 

Immediately, Wilhelm turned around and used magic.

Illusion Magic: False World

Instantly the opening from which those invaders were about to come was covered with a thin layer of glass, that while seeming imperceptible to the naked eye, was actually one of Wilhelm's magic contained in a spell. Its work is to create an illusion that places everything there is in the world inverts itself. Sweet becomes spicy. Left becomes right. Hot becomes cold.

The downside of this spell is that it consumes a lot of mana, but since this place is abundant with it and Wilhelm just wants to ambush people, it is as good as any. 

"Wil-"

"Shut up. Someone is here." Wilhelm said without leaving any room for argument, heeding which both of them shut up and looked in the direction Wilhelm was looking with bated breath.

*SHING*

With a characteristic sound, Wilhelm took out his sword and shield, as Asta too took out his claymore and Noelle hastily prepared for a water shield when the invaders showed themselves.

"Yuno?!"

"Golden Dawn?"

Both Wilhelm and Asta voiced, the former of which thought, 'Golden Dawn and other 4-leaf grimoire guys, what are they doing here? Are they backup? But we were not informed of any back that is coming. The best plan of action is to break the illusion in their eyes but keep my location a mystery. Asta knows one of them too so it would not be too much of a risk.'

With this thought in mind, Wilhelm snapped his fingers and the layer of glass enclosing the Golden Dawn members fell, which caused all of them to be surprised Yuno quickly aimed his attack at the group which caused Wilhelm who leave his original position and created a glass clone of himself, but seeing Asta it soon died down.

'Asta? And where did their group come from? And what was that glass shard?' Yuno thought as he said to his teammates, "They are the ones we are here to help." And left the metallic ride that Klaus made for them, and floated down.

"Yuno!!" Asta shouted as he stored his sword and walked up to Yuno with a bright smile, which Yuno reciprocated with a small smile of his own.

"Asta, seems you have gotten stronger." He greeted him in his own way, at which Asta said with a confident look, "Yes of course. How about you? We won ourselves a Gold Star too."

"What do you think? We did too." Yuno replied, and his eyes drifted to the other two black bulls when Klaus and Mimosa walked up to them too.

But before any introduction could be made, Klaus walked over to them and said in a tone as if looking down on them.

"Yuno, why do you bother wasting time on them?

Our only mission is to explore this dungeon. In other words, to quickly reach the treasure chamber buried deep below. We don't have any time to waste on these fools."

"Better wasting time with us than bother giving birth to you like your mother did." Wilhelm struck as if he was waiting for Klaus to say that, and the way he said it made everyone, whether it be Golden Dawn or Black Bull jolt in surprise which quickly turned to…

"Pfft."

…laugh of shame.

It took a moment for Klaus to realize what was said, and then he looked at Wilhelm who was at the center of attention of everyone, and said in a thundering tone with equal amounts of disbelief, "What did you say?"

"Oh! It seems 4-eyes is deaf too. It must have taken lots of money from your father to get you to join Golden Dawn through a backrail because you are so blind that you would hit your head on the back door."

"(;° ロ°)" Hearing this, Mimosa's face morphed into this while Klaus looked like he had been hit in the face with a fresh stinking pile of sh*t.

"…" He was so stunned that he could not even speak. Seeing the silence between the group, Asta said, "Umm…Hi, My name is Asta from Hage Village and I am Yuno's friend and these are my teammates. Wilhelm and Noelle. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too…" Klaus said with a lifeless look.

Seeing his expression Wilhelm thought, 'Oh, it seems this was his first time being subjected to trash talk. Well, bad for him because I am a 'proud' league player.' and smiled his most charming and disarming smile, taking not only Yuno and Mimosa, but Klaus, Asta, and Noelle too by surprise making them think that the person in front of them was the kindest person to exist, but the last two quickly snapped out of it remembering all of the things this seemingly noble and stuck up looking person did when he loosened up in the base.

Poor Magna still has nightmares due to being scared sh*tless by Wilhelm and his vast knowledge of everything horror.

Seeing the atmosphere returning to friendly, Mimosa went up to Noelle and said, "Noelle, it is so nice to meet you. I was so sad to hear that your brother and sister won't let you in Silver Eagles due to your poor magic control. I am glad that at least Black Bulls took you in."

'Okay, do we have a trash talker on our hands too?' Wilhelm thought as he walked over to Noelle and that girl with one thought in his mind. 'How dare you make fun of Noelle? Only I am allowed to make fun of her, hmph.'

As he was walking to her, Noelle somehow realized that Wilhelm was coming to attack Mimosa like he did to Klaus so she communicated with her expression to him.

How?

Don't ask.

'Wilhelm, stop.'

'Why?'

'She is an airhead. She is too blunt but is a good person and my only childhood friend.'

'Ahh…fine…hmph.'

'Why are you acting like you wanted to make fun of her just for your entertainment?'

'Just your imagination.'

As they communicated telepathically somehow, Mimosa turned around and looked at Wilhelm and said with an angelic look as if Wilhelm did not just destroy Klaus' confidence. "Hi, I am Mimosa Vermillion."

"Hello to you too, I am Wilhelm Sylvesterus Diluc Rothchilde."

"Oh, that is a wonderful name. Just like Noelle." She said as she hugged Noelle and started to rub her cheeks with Noelle's. To Wilhelm, it seemed as if 2 cats were cuddling and it took everything that was inside of him to not join them. Leaving the two to their own devices, he moved to Asta who was talking to Yuno.

Noticing him coming to them, Yuno said, "You are the other person who has 4-leaf grimoire."

"Yes, I am. Nice to meet you, Yuno. I am Wilhelm Sylvesterus Diluc Rothchilde."

"Nice to meet you too, I am Yuno but you knew that."

"Asta talks about you all the time so it is hard to not know you." Wilhelm said back at which Asta grinned from scratching his head under the amused glances of Yuno.

Then suddenly Yuno said, "That glass-type thing was you're doing, right?"

'Well, no need to shy away from it. He has also seen me something related to glass in the trials too. He just does not need my illusion-related powers for now. At least not specifically.'

"Yes, it was me. I did that because I sensed you and was not aware that anyone else other than us was assigned this mission."

"Hmm…you use a sword too?" He commented to which Asta jumped to reply.

"Yes, Wilhelm is training to use a sword from Captain Yami because his il-*hmph*" Before Asta could end his sentence Wilhelm placed his hand on Asta's mouth and muffled him, said, "Din't tell about my magic. Takes the surprise out of it."

Mulling over what he said, Asta nodded and Wilhelm left them to their own devices and to his new target, "Hello 4-eyes." Wilhelm said to Klaus as he walked over to him, which seemed to ruffle his feathers in a bad way, but knowing better than to engage Wilhelm in a duel of words, Klaus ignored his words and asked, "Why are you here?"

"Because we are childhood friends."

"What?" Klaus said with confusion in his tone.

Shrugging his shoulder, Wilhelm said, "I mean, Asta and Yuno are childhood friends. Noelle and Mimosa are childhood friends. So that means you and I are childhood friends too."

"That does not make sense."

"Neither does the fact that you are a magic knight but you don't see me pointing it out, do you?"

"Arghh…what is your problem?!"

"Dry skin, lack of deserts, a hard bed, not having a kingdom of my own, but at present, you."

"Take a deep breath…"

"And don't let it go to rid this world of its prominent problem. You."

While this was going on, Noelle and Mimosa were talking looking in Klaus and Wilhelm's direction.

"Umm…who is he?"

"He just told you." Noelle said as she was entertaining herself from seeing someone else becoming a victim of Wilhelm other than herself.

'Though he does not make fun of me, he just~~~'

"Eh, Noelle, are you fine?"

"Ye-yeah."

"But you are looking red."

"I am not red."

"Of course you are, see your ears-"

"I understood it! Now let's go inside the dungeon, we are wasting our time."

"But Noelle-"

"What?!"

"you are going in the wrong direction."

…

After their talk was over, much to Klaus' delight, Klaus addressed them all, "We should complete our mission quickly."

"Do you know the way inside?" Wilhelm asked at which Klaus pushed his glasses up and was about to retort wittingly but held back and said with a sigh, "Mimosa."

"Yes, Mr. Klaus." Mimosa replied in her calm tone as she bought her hand out with her grimoire floating in front of her and said, "Plant Creation Magic: Magic Flower Guidepost"

Then from the ground a plant grew and as its flower bloomed a 3D map of the dungeon itself.

"That is a wonderful piece of magic." Wilhelm commented at which with a cheery look Mimosa said, "Thank you." Then she turned to the map and explained pointing at it, "This golden light is where we are, and this is the place where we have to go."

"And by we, it means us three." Klaus said looking at Wilhelm as if waiting for a retort but instead Wilhelm smiled at him and said, "Okay." it made him uneasy, but not able to go back to his own words, he said, "Yuno."

And immediately, wind gathered at their legs and the Golden Trio went their way.

"He-"

Asta was about to shout but Wilhelm held him back and said, "Don't. Let them go."

"But why?"

"Because while Mimosa and Yuno would have no problem working with us, their leader Klaus does not think the same. Also, if they go before us, they can trigger more traps beforehand."

"But that means that Yuno and his team will get hurt." Asta voiced his concern, an expression that Noelle shared for Mimosa.

To placate them Wilhelm said, "Don't worry. They have Yuno which is a wind magic user and can save themselves from any physical attack and Klaus has iron magic which can help in this matter too.

On the other hand, my illusion is useless on traps, Asta's anti-magic sword can't save us from projectiles and your water magic cannot be sustained for too long. This is better."

Begrudgingly they nodded and Wilhelm took out his grimoire and used glass magic to craft them a vessel that could fly.

"Get in." At which, the pair entered and then Wilhelm took off, going into the direction Mimosa told them too, all the while following the trail of petals that he left on them hidden by illusion magic.

Then slowly, the vessel started to fly and moved forward at which Asta looked at it with childish joy, and Noelle enjoyed the ride too. It took them a while following their destination when they heard the sound of explosion.

"Huh, what is it?" Noelle asked at which Wilhelm thought, "Intruders other than Golden Dawn…unless they are backups that we are not informed off as well."

'Ahh…since Golden Dawn are going to the treasury, it would make sense for us to intercept the unknown group but it could be dangerous too. What to do…?' With a difficult expression, Wilhelm said, "Lets check it out."

Changing their direction, Black Bulls traveled to the place where the explosion sounds were coming from and found their lost member there, who was being restrained by a black smoke cloud.
