BLACK CLOVER: Through the Looking Glass

In front of the eyes of the Black Bulls, Luck was suspended in a huge black smoke that bound his arms and legs, making him unable to fight. Immediately after this, Wilhelm increased the output for illusion magic and looked at the person who was responsible for the act.

'Diamond Insignia, Smoke Magic, and that face. He must be Lotus Whomalt. A man who is a highly ranked official in the army of Diamond Kingdom. I have read about him in the book that was published by Clover Kingdom describing the officials so that Magic Knights could retreat and notify their superiors to deal with the threat efficiently.

According to the information, he is a person who excels in running away and is a good strategist.

His magic is called Smoke Magic, which he can use to blind his opponent in smoke and trail through them. He can also somehow solidify this smoke to trap people in it, and can also weaken his opponent physically and is a bad match-up for Luck.

He is also suspected to have a very good mana sense, but because my illusion masks our mana signature, we are safe from it.'

Wilhelm quickly recalled every piece of information that was available for Lotus, placed his hand firmly on Noelle and Asta's mouths, and immediately said under their questioning and surprised look, "Shut up and listen. He is from Diamond Kingdom and is an experienced person who knows how to fight." Then Asta spoke as Wilhelm removed his hand.

"But Luck-"

"We are saving him but for that, we have to make a proper plan. 'Kay?" Wilhelm interrupted Asta and explained his point of view.

"Yes Asta, Wilhelm is right, we need to have a plan otherwise we cannot save Luck." Noelle followed, showing reasonable thinking.

Then as the pair's sight set on Wilhelm, he spoke, "His magic is Smoke Magic which can make it difficult for people to see, bind you in a place like he is doing with Luck, and can physically weaken you. He can sense you too but don't worry about that, I have it covered. I will use my Illusion Magic so that he won't be able to detect you too.

Asta, use your anti-magic smoke and you can deal with him binding you, but be careful so that you are not bound by it. Instead of a full-on rush, take steps back from time to time.

Noelle, use your magic to dissolve the smoke in water and move it. Also, give me and Asta a water shield too. Don't try to hit Lotus with your water magic otherwise, it will cause problems for me to use my Illusion.

The same goes for you too Asta. First, free Luck, then when I give a signal, attack him without holding back and make it count because a person like him will realize he is in an illusion and will try to escape immediately. Understood?"

In reply, both of them nodded and then all three of them turned their attention to the scene in front of them, where Lotus was ridiculing Luck in the laziest way possible that it did not even seem like a ridicule.

Wilhelm then raised his hand to him, and the air in front of his palm looked like fractured glass, which shone over Lotus who did not notice it but Luck did and moved his head immediately to the direction and looked at a floating glass on which was written:

We are about to free you. Don't attack immediately and wait for my signal.

Then Luck looked at Lotus who continued to speak, just looking in a different direction as if talking to him.

"So, how about we stop this and you go my way and I go my way…?" He said ending with a yawn when Wilhelm turned to Noelle who nodded and created shields around her, Wilhelm, and Asta.

"Go." Wilhelm said to air, but Asta knew it was meant for him.

Instantly, with his superhuman physique Asta shot towards Luck and swung his sword down, freeing Luck.

"Luck, are you fine."

"Don't interfere he is mine." Luck said as he crackled with electricity and was about to engage Lotus when Asta stood in front of him and said, "It does not have to be that way. We are a team."

"None of that matters. What matters is that I win." Luck shot back with a crazed look, but Asta spoke to him in the same way nonetheless.

"No, what matters is that you live with us."

"But no one will love me if I lose. Mother won't love me if I lose." Luck said desperately.

"We love you. All of Black Bulls love you. Whether you win or lose does not matter. We will love and care for you always."

"WHY?!"

"Because we are your family."

"…" Hearing this statement, Luck's face went under several changes until it finally settled.

Wilhelm allowed this to happen just because Lotus was under his control and if Asta managed to talk some sense into Luck, it would be worthwhile.

'Well, it went better than I expected. Maybe because unlike me, Asta does not hide anything and bears his heart at his sleeve, but…'

"Asta, not now. He has an enemy to defeat." Wilhelm whispered near the pair, stopping whatever conversation they were about to have, and then spoke as his other figure shone, which caused Noelle to curse under her breath, "Luck, just as Asta attacks, follow it up with your attack, and don't try to go out on your own."

Wilhelm said, and conversely, to the way he thought he would respond, Luck nodded and actually listened.

'I think I can start a good therapy business with Asta. Maybe an extension to my previous Love Guru job that I did here.' A senseless thought wandered in his mind, but shrugging his head off of it, Wilhelm turned to Lotus and pointed his hand at him as his hand grasped the air, and moved it…fracturing it, at which moment, Lotus seemed as if he had shut down, with his glassy eyes that saw…nothing.

"Now!"

Immediately, Asta shot at Lotus and swung his sword down, breaking the illusion that surrounded Lotus, but Lotus could not even realize what had happened, much less react to the attack that hit him right in the chest, knocking the wind out of his lungs, and then immediately was hit by Luck as he was in mid-air right on his back, that was followed by a sickening crunch.

"AHH!!!"

Lotus shouted in pain as his face became pale, eyes rolled up in his head and saliva started to flow out of his mouth. And then…

*SHING*

*SHUCK*

*THUP*

…Wilhelm appeared from the thin air and cut off his hands and legs, and then took Lotus' grimoire from his waist and said, "Luck, use electricity to heat his wound shut."

But before Luck could reply, Asta shouted with anger in his tone, "What did you do!?"

"Something that needed to be done. He is an enemy from Diamond Kingdom and is great at escaping. Only knocking him out and restraining him would be stupid. He could easily escape from it.

Then he could harm us. Kill us. Kill me. Kill Luck. Kill Noelle. Are you willing to gamble on it?"

"I…Um…I…" At this, Asta was lost for his words, seeing which Wilhelm toned down the firmness of his voice and said with a sigh, "Listen, Asta, being a magic knight is more than saving a town from a bandit, more than rescuing a princess. It includes being strict when necessary too. It is not the most glorious part of the job, but it is a big part of the job."

Hearing this, Asta begrudgingly nodded and Wilhelm moved his face to Luck who still smiled the same, though it appeared more natural. If you ignore the fact that he was not all bothered by the limbless body.

"Hahaha~Got it~" And he leaned over the body and with hand shimmering with electricity…

*Zzzt*

…welded his wounds shut.

It took Luck about half a minute as he stopped bleeding in his arms, while Noelle whose job was to shield all of them was standing at the distance, trying not to empty the content of her stomach as he looked at the sight.

Realizing this, Wilhelm left a down Asta behind and walked up to her.

"Are you fine?"

She nodded slowly as she moved her face away from Lotus.

"Good job out there. Your timing with the shield was perfect. I think you needed to believe in yourself."

Hearing the praise her face slowly morphed from near puking to a comparatively calmer look.

"Of course…I am a Royal…and a Black Bull." She whispered the last word under her breath but Wilhelm was able to listen and smiled at her and…

"Ow!"

…flicked her forehead.

"Why did you do that?" She asked teary-eyed at which Wilhelm said, "Because I wanted to."

'As expected, Noelle needs praise and encouragement, unlike Asta who needs things to be said straight to his face.' Wilhelm thought as he walked away and stopped in front of Lotus.

"Job done Captain~"

"Please don't say it in front of Magna or Captain Yami. They'll tear me a new one."

"Hahahaha~" Luck laughed in response to a dejected Wilhelm who snapped his fingers and again formed their flying vehicle made of glass placed Lotus inside the vehicle and said, "Let's go to the Golden Dawn. Asta, please fill Luck in on what happened."

Then he concentrated on driving the vehicle while Asta and Noelle talked with Luck who was way more cordial to talk to them.

It took Wilhelm a few minutes until he reached where Golden Dawn was…

"Not again."

…and Wilhelm groaned as he registered the sight in front of him.

Mimosa was in a cradle made of petals and vines with a wound on her body if the blood was anything to go by. Yuno was fighting a guy covered in gems from top to bottom with a gigantic sword made of gems that was made to be wielded by something not human. Klaus was standing behind a huge steel wall that was dental and caved in.

As for Yuno, he was sweating from head to toe with his clothes sticking to his as he gasped for breath but his eyes still burned bright with determination.

"Yuno!" Asta gasped as if he wanted to throw himself out there without a moment's notice but looked at Wilhelm because, since the beginning of the mission, Wilhelm had become a leader by chance. Knowing the meaning of hesitation, Wilhelm said, "GO QUICK! I don't know him. No time to plan."

And Asta did not even hear what he said last as he launched himself at the sword that was about to fall on Yuno and…

*SLASH*

*CLANK*

…he cut the gem blade with his anti-sword as it fell on the group, that caved in under its weight.

"Hey, pale guy! Hands off! Yuno's mine rival." Asta roared with his sword kept in front of him.

"Not for long." The 'Pale Guy' said as he made mineral from the ground protrude up to crash into Asta, but he swung his sword and swatted it away with a crack sound.

On the other side, Wilhelm placed his vehicle in the lone corner and kept it hidden with Lotus in the said vehicle, following which Noelle asked, "What are we going to do?"

"Of course, we will go and fight him head-on. He looks strong." Luck suggested with excitement.

"We won't, that would be stupid." Noelle said as if it was the most obvious thing.

"No, go ahead and fight." Wilhelm replied to which Noelle gave him an incredulous look but Luck just smiled cheekily and ran to join into the fight, kicking 'Pale Guy' in the face.

Then Wilhelm turned to Noelle and said, "Let's go and secure Mimosa and Klaus first, then I will decide what to do with him. Them fighting with him will keep the Pale guy busy." And then without waiting for a reply, he grabbed Noelle by her arms and began running close to Mimosa, whose cradle was shifted behind Klaus who was defending her instead of joining into the fight.

As the pair settled between Mimosa and Klaus, Wilhelm covered all four of them in a concealment illusion and broke his illusion.

"AHH!"

"WHAT!?"

Mimosa shrieked in fear while Klaus gasped with his eyes wide and asked him.

"How are you here?"

"Magic."

"…"

It took Klaus a moment to register what had happened before which Wilhelm said, "First, let me check the injury." As the leaned over the cradle in which Mimosa had her hand pressed to her abdomen and her eyes half closed, at which Wilhelm asked, "How deep is your injury?"

"I…am fine." Mimosa said in a dazed tone.

"She will be. This cradle is for healing magic." Klaus said from behind adjusting his glasses.

"Even then, did the bleeding stop?"

"I don't know."

Hearing Mimosa's tone which seemed like one should not have in case of emergency, Wilhelm said in a frustrated tone.

"Ahh…I am done with this sh*t. Fu*k it." He said crass words that took the noble trio by surprise, even Noelle who knows Wilhelm to use clever and crafty words instead.

Then he raised a hand on which glass shards were moving like a saw and tore through the vines.

"What?!"

"Hey."

Mimosa said and Klaus went to stop him but the sight of Wilhelm with a glass saw shut him up. Not caring for the pair, Wilhelm lifted Mimosa's shirt up as her face became red and full of life and looked at the injury.

"Bleeding is closed."

Wilhelm said as he left a frozen Mimosa behind him and looked at Klaus and said, "Tell me whatever you know about that person."

"Wha—why should I tell you?! Who are you, huh?" Klaus said with his noble pride.

*GRASP*

*TWIST*

*THUD*

"I am the fu*king guy who had fu*king enough for the day.

And you are going to tell me exactly what I want to know because I also happen to be a guy who snuck up behind you and is carrying a fuc*ing sword on his back and is not afraid to make such a mess of your face that your own fuc*ing mother won't be able to love."

"He is from the Diamond Kingdom. He uses Mineral Magic and is able to form constructs of it, create Mineral Clone, and other things. They are strong enough to completely block an attack from my Steel Magic." Klaus said looking in Wilhelm's eye while Noelle looked at Wilhelm in a new light.

'I want old snarky and rude Wilhelm back. He is scary now.'

On the other hand, Mimosa looked as if she had found a questionable idol, and could almost imagine herself being a thug who threatens people like this but then quickly snapped out of it.

As for Wilhelm, he observed the pale guy's fight and went deep into thought.

'His most standout feature is his strong defense. Due to this thing reaching almost diamond in hardness, until Yuno attacks him at his skin, he is useless here. Same with Luck, since it is a diamond-type mineral it will not conduct electricity. The same is true for Klaus as well.

So only Asta, Noelle, and I directly can deal with him. Noelle can drown him, but I find it hard that she can do it. Asta can cut through him and it is the most plausible. So let's go with it.'

With affirmed eyes, Wilhelm manifested glass in his hand, aimed it at the pale guy, and shot it at him with high speed. When it hit him in the armor, he did not even notice but the deed was done, because Wilhelm had used his signature spell. False World.

Immediately, he grabbed Klaus and Noelle, and before Wilhelm asked Mimosa, "Will you be fine on your own here?"

"Ummhmm." She said as she nodded meekly.

Then Wilhelm turned and dragged the two with him who went without any argument because they were afraid of Wilhelm's temper. They made their way towards the trio of Luck, Asta, and Yuno the latter of whom looked at the pale guy with confusion who started to attack anywhere but them. But the same was not true for Luck and Asta who were getting continuously attacked and were hitting back head-on with Luck.

Seeing Wilhelm walking over to him, he was about to say something but seeing Klaus being dragged like this, all the words died in his mouth.

When they were at an appropriate distance, Wilhelm said, "I can use Illusion Magic and that guy is in an illusion so don't ask any unnecessary questions. Your and Klaus' magic is not effective on that guy so here is how it is going to go.

Klaus, create a long arrow with a hollow pointed edge and leave a long wire connecting that arrow. Noelle, fill that arrow with water and put some dirt from the ground in it. Yuno, shoot that arrow when I say so."

"What are you going to do with it?"

'Shove it in your as*.' Wilhelm thought to Yuno's question but reeled himself in to not revert to old ways and said impatiently, "Shoot this arrow on that guy and electrocute him using Luck's magic causing him to flinch and finally giving Asta a still target for him to take down. Now less yapping and more working."

Wilhelm said as he ran away in the direction where Luck dodged and waved his hand, breaking him out of the Illusion Asta, the pale guy, and Luck were in.

"Huh, where did you app…" Luck was about to ask with a battle maniac smile but realized what had happened.

"Luck, wait for now and attack when those people attack that guy with the arrow immediately with every ounce of electricity in your body."

"But-"

"Please..."

'We are a team.' Luck thought as he calmed himself down from his battle-induced state and waited for the moment with a smile.

By the time Wilhelm turned, Noelle and the team were ready to attack and were waiting for Wilhelm's signal who stared hard at the Diamond guy and seeing the position of swing of Asta's sword, closed his eyes and concentrated to the best of his abilities.

Illusion Magic: Skewed Vision

As he opened his eyes, they were replaced by glass and something strange happened. The air around Wilhelm and the guy seemed to rupture, but this was only seen by both only. For the others, the guy moved and halted suddenly, and then Asta pierced through his armor, shredding a good part of it, and hit him right across the chest.

"Yahh!!!"

"NOW!!"

Wilhelm shouted followed by Asta's war cry.

*BOOM*

*CRASH*

With a large torrent of Wind, the arrow launched itself at the guy's chest, which was followed by a sickening crunch that was overshadowed by the wind's sound.

Following this, Luck threw a charged shot of lightning at the guy that he had been feeding it with magic.

*ZZZT*

With a static sound, it moved at a speed too fast to be seen with the naked eye and struck the guy who screamed at the top of his lungs, which were punctured by the arrow.

"AHHHH!H!H!KGRRH GULPLP"

His screams of pain turned to him choking on his own blood, but Wilhelm was not the one to show mercy. His original figure broke into shards while he appeared from thin air, and swung his sword.

*THUK*

*CHAPH*

"AHbrbrbrbr!!"

He screamed once more but was met with a shield bash on his face knocking him out cold, as blood flowed from his missing limbs like water.

"Luck…ha…ha…seal his wounds."

*CLANG*

Wilhelm said as he crashed on the floor and the sword fell on the ground with a clanging sound as he gazed at the roof. Then in his view was shadowed by the figure of Asta who screamed…

"WILHELM! YOUR EYES!!"

Hearing this, Noelle rushed to him and looked at his face with a horrified look, "Your eyes are bleeding!"

"Yeah yeah, I am fine."

"Wilhelm don't die!!"

"I am not dying Asta."

"He is dying?!"

"No I am not Noelle."

"Then why are you bleeding from your eye?"

"Because I thought it would be fun, Asta."

This short exchange happened at Asta and Noelle kneeled beside Wilhelm while Klaus, Yuno, and Luck looked at him from a distance, the latter of whom was for the first time was not smiling at all. It was then that Mimosa walked over slowly to them and placed a hand on Noelle shoulder. At this Noelle looked back with worry in her eyes, and giving her a reassuring look, Mimosa said, "Noelle, don't worry, I will heal him."

"Yes please." Noelle said as she shot up from the spot to give Mimosa all the space she needs.

"Don't worry. This is effect of one of my spell." Wilhelm tried to explain but Mimosa tried to replicate what Wilhelm did previously and pushed his hand down and said, "Let me look, okay." with a cheeky look at which Wilhelm said, "Touche."

Saying this, he lied down on the ground and was soon placed in a cradle with petals around him. And to make matters worse, Mimosa was moving him like a mother does to a baby in a stroller.

Something he did not like.

And he made it known.

By lying on his front.

As it was happening, Luck had already sealed wounds of the diamond guy, and left him there, taking his grimoire from listening to Wilhelm's warning and Asta cut the door in front of them open, leading them to the treasury inside of which glittered with gold.

"Wow…" Asta and Noelle gasped, hearing which Wilhelm stirred and said, "Let me see too."

"No. You are staying there until you are fine." Mimosa said placing her finger on her lip.

"Not if I have a say in it." Wilhelm spoke as he manifested glass saw and in the blink of an eye, shredded through the cradle. He landed on the group on his limbs like a cat and rolled over.

"You shouldn't do that." Mimosa said, genuinely worried. But paying it no mind Wilhelm said, "Don't worry. I have used this spell many times. It does that every time."

"Well…then I will believe you." Mimosa said in an unsure tone.

"What type of healer are you? Believing your patient when they say they don't need treatment is the worst thing you can do." Wilhelm said as if scolding a child, at which Mimosa puffed her face like a chipmunk which took every single strand of will power in Wilhelm not to pinch her cheeks.

Laughing at her a bit, Wilhelm went to venture deep into the treasury.
