Bittersweet Love: With A Millennium old Demon

"aaaaaaaaaaaa" calista began cry too, " I didn't… mean to" she cried out louder " i don't know why he likes me" Calista opened her hands wide for Aurora to give her a hug, Aurora immediately jumped into her arms. 

 They both hugged each other, tears streaming down their faces, Calista was patting her head. " I know…you wouldn't betray me… but I just..feel so bad…he was my prince…charming" Aurora chewed her lower lips. 

 Calista pulled her out of her embrace at an arm's length, she gently wiped Aurora's tears, while hers was flowing like a river " don't worry I won't marry him… I..I promise" she said crossing her fingers.

 "Aaaaaa" Aurora pulled her into another hug again, they were having their moment when a loud voice came from across them " get out of my carriage". 

 They screamed out in fear " ghost.. ghost..ghost" Aurora screamed as she tried to enter Calista's body. Calista turned her head slowly to look at the person " uh oh" as realisation dawned on her, it was the demon and the dragon.

 But Calista looked at them, this isn't real right?, she thought. She tilted her head to one side to see if they were real, she almost fell down, that was when she realised she was bending too low, she immediately sat up straight with a straight face.

 " Aurora, don't be afraid, they are not real" she said assuringly with a nod. " But they are staring daggers at us, how is it possible that they are not real?" Aurora cried out, shaking in her seat.

 " Don't worry I will prove it to you" Calista said, staggering up, Aurora held her hand as she mouthed " don't go". Calista removed her hand from hers" don't worry, I know what I am doing" Calista said as she staggered towards where the two men were sitting.

 She stood in front of the demon Alexander, bending towards him, her face a few inches from his, she stared straight into his eyes, it was like an endless abyss of darkness, ready to engulf her at any moment, she broke off from the trance, blinking her eyes at him, while taking a good look at his face.

 " You are so handsome Mr demon" she giggled, poking his cheek with her index fingers. She was so busy ogling at him that she missed the surprise and fearful look that flashed through Ethan's face.

 "Are you really the rumoured demon?" Calista asked innocently as her slender hand was now pinching his cheek, pulling it up and down, yet she couldn't garner any reaction from Alexander, who was staring at her like a statue. " You see Aurora, he is not real," she says. 

 Meanwhile Ethan was trying so hard to suppress his laughter, this was the amusing thing that had ever happened to Alexander. This man is something else, "wasn't he afraid of death?" He thought, though he thought it was funny but he knew it won't last long.

 His eyes were red from the suppression of his laughter, even though this young man is courting death, he was his favourite person at this moment.

 Her green eyes sparkled with delight, this was her best moment, even if he was a fake, at least she could touch him. " Calista, can you feel the temperature rising?" Aurora asked as she was now sweating profusely.

 Alexander knuckles were now white from the clenching of his fist, if one thing was certain now, was the death of this annoying man.

 Realisation dawned on Calista, it was true, she was sweating as if she was being cooked alive, the temperature was rising at an insane pace. Before she could fathom what was happening, a hand had already gripped her neck, choking her .

 She began to hit his hand, fingering and everything "let go…of me" she cried, trying her best to get out of this mess. Alexander tilted his head, a devilish smirk forming on his face. He was going to disintegrate this stupid man, that even his soul will not survive it.

 "Alexander" Ethan's hand was now holding Alexander's hand that was strangling Calista " can you let him for my sake?" He pleaded as a bead of sweat formed on his forehead. 

 Aurora was shivering in fear, her head placed between her legs. Alexander was getting more irritated now, his friend has never pleaded for anyone before, why was he pleading for this unknown creature.

 " No!" His voice thundered, instilling fear in every creature that was close by, Ethan immediately took his hand away. The horses were neighing in fear. His eyes blazing in anger, he stared at Calista fearful ones, his eyes were like a pit of darkness now, ready to engulf anything and everything, Calista knew right then, she has now bitten more than she can chew.

 Ethan closed his eyes, as he knew that he wouldn't be able to save him. As Alexander's hand tightened around her, their eyes met, tears trickled down her face, when they all thought that the deal was done, his hands involuntarily let go of her neck. 

 Calista fell on the floor, she immediately crawled back, trying to get as far away from him as she could, trembling as she moved away. Alexander was staring at his hand, " what the hell just happened" he murmured in disbelief.

 Ethan's eyes widened in utter shock," did Alex actually spared a life?" His brain was buzzing with questions.

 Alexander slowly moved closer to Calista, his hand trying to grip her neck again, Calista who was now weak found herself in his hand again " please..spare…me" her face red and scrunched up, she can't believe that she is at death's door.

 He tried to tighten his grip again, his hand involuntary loosening again. He was taken aback by this phenomenon. Ethan who was looking at the scene was trying to connect the dots. " Who are you?" Alexander asked, trying to stay composed.

 Cough cough cough " stay away from me" she cried, her body trembling, she held onto Aurora who was trying her best not to pass out from fear. " I will let you go, if you tell me who you are" his blood was literally boiling, the strain on his face was an indication of how much effort he was putting to keep his anger at bay.
