Billionaire: Money and Power

Chapter 32: Chapter 32 – "Deeper Into the Shadows"

A Step Further Into the Unknown

Joshua sat on the balcony of his penthouse, looking out at the city skyline. The air was thick with the smell of rain, the streets below shimmering under neon lights.

Tunde leaned against the railing, arms crossed. "You realize what you just did, right?"

Joshua smirked. "Yeah. I made myself too important to kill."

Tunde shook his head. "Or you just pissed off the wrong people."

Joshua chuckled, sipping his drink. "That too."

The phone on the table buzzed. A new message.

Unknown Number: Meet me at the Black Lotus in one hour. Come alone.

Joshua exhaled. "Looks like they want to talk."

Tunde frowned. "Or they want you dead."

Joshua stood up, stretching. "Only one way to find out."

The Black Lotus

The Black Lotus was more than a club—it was neutral ground. A place where powerful people met without fear of sudden gunfire.

Joshua stepped inside, the bass from the music vibrating in his chest. The scent of expensive perfume mixed with the sharp tang of whiskey.

A hostess led him to a private booth, where a familiar face waited.

The same man from before. Slick suit, cold eyes.

Joshua sat down, pouring himself a drink. "Didn't think I'd get an invite so soon."

The man smirked. "You're making waves, Mr. Joshua."

Joshua leaned forward. "Good ones or bad ones?"

The man exhaled. "That depends. You saved Angela Eze, but instead of punishing you, we're offering you another opportunity."

Joshua raised an eyebrow. "I'm listening."

The man slid a folder across the table. "You've proven you can handle problems. Now, we want to see if you can create them."

Joshua opened the folder.

Inside was a name. A corporation. A plan.

His next move wasn't about eliminating someone.

It was about destroying something.

A Dangerous Proposition

Joshua studied the files. The target was a massive conglomerate—one tied to politicians, foreign investors, and even the military.

Tunde would lose his mind if he saw this.

Joshua closed the folder. "And what exactly do you want me to do?"

The man smiled. "We don't care how you do it. We just need them to fall."

Joshua exhaled. "And if I say no?"

The man's smile didn't fade. "Then I hope Angela's life insurance is up to date."

Joshua smirked, tossing back his drink.

They thought they had him cornered.

Fine.

Let's see how far this game could go.

Gathering the Pieces

Back at the penthouse, Joshua threw the folder onto the table. Tunde picked it up, his eyes widening.

"This is suicide," Tunde muttered.

Joshua sat on the couch, stretching. "Not if we do it right."

Tunde ran a hand down his face. "You do realize who we're messing with?"

Joshua nodded. "Yeah. That's why we're not going to just take them down."

Tunde frowned. "Then what's the plan?"

Joshua grinned. "We make them implode."

Setting the Trap

Over the next few days, Joshua pulled every string he had.

He leaked financial records. He spread rumors. He manipulated media.

Within a week, the corporation was under investigation.

Within two, investors started pulling out.

By the third, the government was involved.

Joshua watched the chaos unfold from the comfort of his penthouse, sipping a drink as the news blasted headlines of corruption, fraud, and scandal.

Tunde sat beside him, shaking his head. "You're insane."

Joshua smirked. "And yet, it's working."

The Aftermath

Another message.

Unknown Number: Well played. Expect a call soon.

Joshua leaned back.

The Order was watching.

And now?

They were impressed.
