Chapter 228: Chapter 228: Earning £2.2 Million in Fifteen Minutes

The next day at 9 a.m., just after breakfast, William received a call from an employee of Dali's company informing him that his newly purchased horses had arrived. Overjoyed, William grabbed his unsuspecting mother and took the golf cart to the stables.

Upon arriving at the stables, they saw two horse trailers parked outside. Dali's horse company personnel and their own horse trainers came forward to greet William and Lena.

Seeing the horse trailers, Lena immediately understood why her son had brought her to the stables. She gave William a few exasperated looks and said, "Why did you buy so many horses at once? How much did you spend this time?"

"Hehe, not much, only £2.2 million for a total of five Akhal-Teke horses," William explained, seeing his mother's puzzled look. "Akhal-Teke horses are also known as Akhal-Tekes. There's one horse I specifically chose for you. When you see her, you'll love her."

Lena was still not used to William's extravagant spending. Having been accustomed to frugality, she preferred practicality over luxury. She had no interest in expensive, disposable clothing. However, when it came to furnishing and equipping the castle, she didn't hesitate to spend money, having already spent nearly £3 million. This made William realize that his mother was not reluctant to spend money but believed in spending it wisely.

This time was no different. Seeing her son buy five horses at once, Lena frowned at William. "£2.2 million is not much? Can't you be more reliable? It's just the two of us in the house. Why buy so many horses as decorations?"

"Hehe," William ignored his mother's nagging and said softly, "Mom, do you know how much money I made recently? In fifteen minutes, I earned more than £2.2 million. So, Mom, you don't need to worry about saving money anymore. You should think about how to spend it."

"How much? £2.2 million in fifteen minutes?" Lena ignored the spending issue. She had her own ideas about spending money and didn't care what other nobles did. She was more interested in how much her son had earned. Squinting, she glared at William. "Do you want a beating, William? You know I'm not good at math. Hurry up and tell me."

William chuckled and said, "I have $720 million in cash, and my stocks are probably worth over $10 billion. I haven't checked the market recently, but even if they've dropped, it wouldn't be by much. The stock market is almost at the bottom now. Mom, are you okay?"

Seeing his mother cover her mouth with an incredulous look, William regretted saying it. Had he scared her?

Lena brushed away William's hand from her forehead and pulled his face close, her eyes shining. "What did you just say? Say it again. Mom didn't hear clearly."

"Over $10 billion," William repeated cautiously.

"Hahaha," Lena laughed loudly, pinching William's cheeks. "That's amazing, my child. So, you've been making two to three billion dollars a day recently?"

William rubbed his reddened cheeks and said irritably, "Of course, I'm William Devonshire. So, Mom, from now on, when you buy something, don't think about how much it costs. Just think about whether you want it."

"Haha, what I buy is none of your business. But it does mean I don't have to worry about spending all the money in your account anymore. Great, son, go find someone to notify that landowner. We're buying those 3,000 acres of land. I want to see all the land around the castle returned to the Devonshire family today. Hurry up and call your lawyer," she ordered, pinching William's cheeks again. "Remember, today. I don't want to wait another minute. Understand, William Devonshire?"

"Alright, alright, Mom. Let go of me. I'll call right away. God, I'm 20 years old, not 5. Can you stop pinching my cheeks?" William complained, rubbing his face.

Seeing his mother's glare, William quickly surrendered and called Anthony from the Matters Law Firm. After stating his request in front of his mother, Lena finally let him go, patting his cheek. "Good boy."

William rolled his eyes dramatically.

After discussing the details of buying the land, Lena suddenly pushed William aside, staring at the golden horse that had just come off the trailer.

William sighed, shaking his head. Whenever he blocked her view during football games, Lena would kick him aside. Now it was the same. It seemed this golden Akhal-Teke would definitely hold a higher status in the house than he did.

He wondered what name his mother would give this golden Akhal-Teke. Hopefully, not something like Devonshire III. If that happened, William would definitely go crazy.

Sighing again, he thought about the football games and how excited his mother would be when she found out he was about to become the owner of Chelsea. Given her love for Chelsea, she might spend all his £300 million in the Bank of England in a few years.

The more he thought about it, the more likely it seemed. He realized he needed to find a competent manager. Otherwise, who knew if his mother would spend money recklessly on her favorite players. He didn't mind spending money, but he didn't want to be taken advantage of.

When the chestnut Akhal-Teke was led off the trailer, William's attention was quickly drawn to it. He walked over, delighted by the horse's unique appearance.

Standing 1.61 meters tall, the horse was perfect for William. It had a fine head, a high neck, a robust and elongated body, and strong, slender limbs. It looked more powerful than a typical Akhal-Teke.

The horse trainer calmed the somewhat restless horse, then indicated to William that he could touch it. The horse didn't show any impatience at William's touch; instead, it nuzzled his shoulder and neighed.

The trainer, pleased, said, "Mr. Devonshire, it seems you have a special bond with it. This is the first time it has shown any affection towards a human. Usually, it doesn't allow anyone near it except me. I had to force it into the paddock to test its speed a few times, but other than that, it wouldn't let anyone near it."

"Haha, it seems we are indeed meant to be. It must have known I liked it from the moment I saw its picture," William said, happily stroking the horse's neck and grooming its mane. "What was its previous name?"

"Red Tail, meaning it moves so fast you can only see its tail," the trainer replied.

"What a ridiculous name. No wonder it didn't care for you," William joked, patting the horse's neck. "From now on, you'll be called Red Hare."

'Red Hare?' The people around didn't seem pleased with William's choice of name. But the Red Hare horse suddenly nodded, looking pleased, which surprised the staff of Dali's Horse Company. The horse truly seemed to be fond of William.

"Haha, buddy, I knew you'd like it," William patted Red Hare, instructing the trainer to fit the horse with tack.

Once the saddle was on, William mounted Red Hare and shouted 'Giddyup!' The horse shot off, galloping away at high speed.

"Oh, my God! Its speed is incredible! Mr. Dali will go crazy when he hears this. This horse never ran at full speed during the tests at Dali's stables," the trainer exclaimed, quickly taking out his phone to call Luther Dali.
