"Carl, are you actually asking us to fight for you?" Klaire asked as they all held each other.
"I am, I've been trying to fight these battles on my own, but I know it's stupid. I'm not really a fighter and taking the lead will lead to disaster. So yes, I'd like you two to fight for me, while I support and analyse."
"Well then, I guess that puts Klaire in front and me on mid range and crowd control. Should we head to The Carrion hive and try it out?"
"Probably best for us to experiment, I don't doubt that we will find something to fight while we're away and I'd rather not put too much into Klaire's attacks and cause a tunnel collapse."
They held each other a bit longer, then spent the day lounging around and planning a bit more for the trip between playing with the kids and actually acting like a family.
"Mums, Can we do our system checks? We were looking forward to it, but then we never did." Kitsunoko asked as they were eating lunch.
The three sighed, Carl could check them anytime he wished, but he had decided not to with his kids so they had some kind of privacy but they agreed since she had asked.
"If any of you don't want to, you can sit out, but fine." Carl said.
"Any teasing or bullying at all and you'll be grounded." Kyubi said sternly, ever aware of kitsune habits.
"That includes pestering anyone who doesn't want to show."
The threat didn't deter her so they stood up and made to walk out, when Aegis spoke up.
"May I join? I would like to be an open book so I may serve to the best of my abilities."
The three of them chuckled at Aegis' ever eager to please attitude. "Aegis, you can use it whenever you want, you are my bodyguard and chose your own path."
Aegis bowed before ushering the children ahead as they all made their way to the display room.
"Okay Ki-ko, can I assume you want to go first?"
"Yes please!" Kitsunoko replied already moving to the display stage.

Kyubi said giving them a kiss as Kitsunoko started fanning her tails and showboating.

"Want me to analyse the other skills?"
"No it's fine, Parallel thinking let's me think about lots of things at once, that's what I use for making up pranks and "cause and effect" is what lets me figure out how things will play out. The others are just me being cute and letting me be a daddy's girl and being daddy's girl."
"You may be cute Sweetie, but that ego is not and neither are those knots in your tails, so we'll have to brush them later."

Carl knelt down and gave her a kiss on the forehead then asked who was next.
"Brother Tiamutael, do you mind if I go next? I'll get self conscious after seeing yours."
"I keep telling you, just call me "brother" or "Tiamutael" family doesn't outrank one another. Sure though, but it doesn't matter, we only want to see to help you grow." The girls all jumped on him and praised his gentlemanly speech.

"Awww, why didn't you tell us you can fly?..." Klaire cooed. "...We need to make sure you excercise your wings too, we'll let your grandmothers know so they can make sure they get use at school okay?"
"Thank you Mum, they're a little stiff, I was too shy to show off."
"You can fly with me when I stretch mine, mine get stiff too." Tiamutael added, making his three parents narrow their eyes because he hadn't mentioned it.
"Why didn't you tell us?"
"I wanted to watch kid-vids instead..." His eyes dropped to the ground as they stifled their amusement.
"Well, that was silly, if you told me I could have made an AR headset or got Alysse to make one. Then you could play games and stretch them at the same time, hell I'd even put a display on the roof." Carl said as he walked over and squatted next to him.
"I know Dad, I'm sorry, just didn't want you spoiling me when the others don't get stuff like that..."
"You're a good boy, but seriously, I'll give you guys anything you need. It's not spoiling, you shouldn't have to miss out because you have additional needs and none of your siblings will say otherwise."
"Sorry Dad, I know I was silly and childish."
"It's okay mate, just remember health comes first and if you can't ask me for something then I can't earn that title."
Carl gave him hug and tousled his hair a bit before asking if he wanted to show the others.
"Yeah, I wasn't sure at first, but I do." Tiamutael started towards the platform and Carl rejoined the others.

Carl got a bit teary-eyed, confusing the others slightly as he gestured for Tiamutael to come to him. "I'm so sorry I left you alone with this. I didn't look, I wanted to give you privacy, but I should have asked and I'm sorry."
"Dad, it's fine, I didn't want to talk about it before. I'm thankful you let me come to terms with it a bit first. Uncle Equinox was not so good with space, but he apologised quickly."
"Well you know Great-aunt Tia and Great-uncle Bahamut would be happy to speak to you. Would you want me to get them all to help you, or do you want some more time?"
"I think I want things to stay the same for a while more, maybe on your birthday?"
"Don't put a date on it, just do what feels best to you in the moment. Always."
"Okay Dad. Thank you."
It took a lot of self-control for him to force himself to accept Tiamutael's gratitude. He wanted to say he didn't need to thank him, but he didn't want his son copying that and becoming unable to accept it himself.
"Come on, I think your mums are gonna kill me if I keep hogging you."
"Now we know what you all have, if any of you have any questions or concerns, speak to us any time you like. If you have any interests you want to pursue we'll do our best to help you." Kyubi said as she started a family hug.
"And if any of you even think about doing what your Dad did and trying to leave because you don't feel worthy, you'll be grounded until we die."
The kids were about to chuckle until they saw the seriousness in her expression and after a quick glance at each other, they simply said, "Yes Mum."
