Chapter 10: Moments of Peace
Far from the gates, weary farmers returned to their homes and families, as the clear blue sky faded to orange, a simple sight, yet on the city walls, there was a lot of movement even at that time, something daily for the residents who walked carefree and relaxed.
Raspter Inn.
"Thank you very much for choosing our inn."
The smell of lavender was palpable in that place, Gachuti was at the inn's reception, in front of him behind the counter was the receptionist, a young woman with wavy blue hair that reached her shoulders, her eyes were brown, her pupils resembled a fish, she wore long, simple clothes.
"Thank you." – Gachuti smiled at the receptionist, who returned the smile.
"Before I forget, please excuse us in advance." – She said, as she handed over the keys.
"Excuse me for what?"
"We have a pair of adventurers and they may end up disturbing your sleep."
"It's fine with me."
Finally, taking the keys and with the receptionist's directions, he headed to his room. Standing in front of room number 7, he put the keys in, turned it, and opened the door, seeing a small room with a bed on the left wall, a counter on the right, and a glass window in the middle, with a handmade curtain.
"Ahhh... I better get ready for bed."
He entered the room and closed the door behind him, sat on the edge of the bed, put his boots beside the bed, took the money bag from his waist and placed it on the counter.
"Blood."
"Yes?"
"You said you were a seal, right?"
Blood was searching all over that small place, floating freely and without worry. Despite that, only after this question did he really concentrate on the conversation.
"Yes, why?"
"What will happen when I can use all my power?" – His eyes fixed, full of doubts, but serious.
"What else, I'll die."
"What?"
"Maybe dying is too strong, I'll just cease to exist, simple."
"Simple, where? And how can you say that so naturally?"
"What kind of face is that? I only exist because I'm a seal, if you don't need a seal anymore, I no longer need to exist."
After listening carefully to the answer, a smile appeared on his face. He lay down on the bed laughing, while the softness and comfort of the bed made him drowsy.
"Haha, you really... You're a very... Strange being." – His eyes slowly closed as Blood watched the scene.
Raspter Inn (7:00 AM the next day)
"Good morning." – The enthusiasm in her tone of voice showed her happiness.
From the corridor of the rooms, she was wearing a long gray shirt and long pants that even made some folds in her slippers.
"Good morning, Miss Auratus." – He scratched his neck, revealing his hair that went down to the middle of his neck.
"You look so handsome." – This sentence was said so softly that Gachuti didn't hear it.
"Huh? Are you alright?"
Finally, noticing the reddish blush on her face, trying to hide it with her hands, finally realizing this scene, she fixed her posture.
"It's nothing, Mr. Gachuti, please, sit down, the tea is almost ready."
"Okay, and excuse me." – He passed by her with a gentle smile, leaving behind the light scent of roses.
"That smell is from the roses of Demigem? Yesterday, when he arrived, he seemed like just another ordinary adventurer, but now he seems so cute." – She was already caught up in her own thoughts, awakened by Gachuti.
"What was that, Miss Auratus?"
"Huh? Nothing, I was just thinking about that smell, it's from the roses of Demigem, I'm right?"
"Yes, it is, it's the perfume of the roses from there, I use it because it's Rosa's favorite..."
The smile that had covered her face faded and her eyes welled up, however, at that moment, a cup of tea was placed on the table, below her face, causing the tears in her eyes to stop.
"Ferht herb tea, it's very good, try it, sir."
Gachuti took the cup and put it to his lips, and the taste was like being a child playing in the rain again. Gachuti finished and smiled at the attendant.
"Thank you very much, this is really good."
The inn door opened and a young man entered and sat at another table, he was a young man with black hair, brown skin, one of his eyes was gray and the other was green, and his ears were longer than a human's, a young elf.
