---
The morning light filtered softly through the curtains, casting a gentle glow over Sakura's apartment. She had hardly slept the night before, her mind racing with thoughts of Naruto and Sasuke, each of them occupying a piece of her heart in ways she couldn't ignore. She knew she couldn't keep avoiding the truth much longer. The weight of her indecision was becoming unbearable.
Sakura sat on the edge of her bed, staring out the window at the village below. The cool morning air felt refreshing, but her heart was still heavy. Sasuke had been right. She couldn't keep pretending that this didn't matter. But how could she choose? How could she decide between two people who meant so much to her, each in their own way?
A soft knock on the door broke her thoughts, and she stood up quickly, her heart skipping a beat. She knew who it was before she even opened the door. When she did, she was met with Naruto's bright smile, his eyes shining with warmth, as always.
"Good morning, Sakura!" he greeted her cheerfully. "I thought I'd come by and see how you're doing. You didn't seem yourself yesterday."
Sakura forced a smile, though it didn't quite reach her eyes. "I'm fine, Naruto. Just... thinking a lot."
Naruto stepped inside without waiting for an invitation, his usual exuberance filling the room. "You've been thinking a lot about everything, huh? About us?"
Sakura didn't know how to answer him. The words felt stuck in her throat. She didn't want to hurt him, but the truth was, she didn't know what she wanted anymore. Every time she tried to imagine her future, she saw both Naruto and Sasuke there, and she couldn't picture it without either of them.
"I don't know, Naruto," she finally said, her voice quieter now. "I don't know what to do. I don't know what I want."
Naruto's expression softened, and he stepped closer, placing a hand on her shoulder. "You don't have to know right now, Sakura. I'm not going anywhere. I'll wait for you. I'll always wait for you."
The sincerity in his voice made Sakura's heart ache. She wanted to believe him. She wanted to be with him, but the pull she felt toward Sasuke made her question everything. She knew that if she chose Naruto, it would be the safe choice, the choice that made sense. But Sasuke... Sasuke made her feel things she couldn't explain, things she didn't understand.
"I just... I need time," she whispered, her voice breaking. "I need time to figure this out."
Naruto nodded, his hand lingering on her shoulder for a moment before he pulled away. "Take all the time you need, Sakura. I'll be here when you're ready."
He gave her one last smile before turning to leave, but before he stepped out the door, he paused and glanced back at her. "Just know that I'm here. Always."
Sakura watched him leave, her chest tightening as the door closed behind him. She felt the weight of his words, the promise he had made. He was giving her space, giving her the time she needed, but how much time could she take before she lost him for good?
As the door clicked shut, Sakura's mind turned back to Sasuke. She hadn't seen him since the night before, and though he had left her with a sense of urgency, she knew he wasn't the type to push her. But she also knew he wouldn't wait forever.
The thought of him sent a wave of heat through her, and she knew that the pull she felt toward him wasn't something she could ignore. Sasuke had always been a mystery to her, and yet, every time they were together, there was a familiarity, a comfort in the chaos that only he could provide.
Her thoughts were interrupted by a sudden knock on the door, this time a sharper sound. Sakura's heart raced again, and she quickly stood up, not even needing to guess who it was this time. When she opened the door, she was greeted by Sasuke, his dark eyes meeting hers with an intensity that made her breath catch.
"You're still thinking about it," he said, his voice low, almost like a statement rather than a question.
Sakura stepped aside to let him in, the air between them thick with unspoken words. Sasuke didn't sit down, instead standing by the door, his arms crossed, his gaze unwavering. It was clear he wasn't going to let her avoid this conversation any longer.
"I can't stop thinking about it," Sakura admitted, her voice soft but steady. "I don't know what to do, Sasuke. I don't know how to choose."
Sasuke's eyes softened just a fraction, though his expression remained mostly impassive. "You don't have to choose yet. But you can't keep pretending that you don't feel anything."
Sakura felt her chest tighten as she looked at him. She knew what he was asking, what he was offering. He was giving her the space to decide, but he was also telling her that the time to decide was fast approaching. And the more she spent with him, the harder it became to imagine her life without him in it.
"I'm scared," she confessed, her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm scared of making the wrong choice. I don't want to hurt either of you."
Sasuke's gaze softened further, and for a brief moment, he uncrossed his arms and took a step closer to her. "Sakura, you're not going to hurt me. But you need to understand something. I won't wait forever. I won't keep being here for you if you're not willing to make a decision."
The weight of his words hit her hard, and for a moment, she felt like she couldn't breathe. Sasuke was always so controlled, so distant, but in that moment, she saw a glimpse of something deeper—a vulnerability that she hadn't expected. He was giving her a choice, but he was also making it clear that he couldn't wait in limbo forever.
Sakura looked up at him, her heart pounding in her chest. "I don't know what to do," she repeated, her voice trembling now.
Sasuke's expression didn't change, but there was something in his eyes that told her he understood. "You don't have to have all the answers right now. But you need to decide soon. I can't keep being caught in this... uncertainty."
Sakura nodded slowly, her mind racing. She didn't know how to choose, but she knew she couldn't keep living in this state of indecision. She had to make a choice, even if it meant facing the consequences.
Sasuke turned to leave, but before he did, he paused and glanced back at her. "I'll be here when you're ready," he said softly, his voice carrying an undertone of finality.
Sakura stood there, watching him disappear into the night, the weight of his words settling heavily in her chest. She was running out of time. The choice had to be made soon, but the fear of losing either of them was overwhelming.
