Chapter 56: Kayla Tremont
*Axels POV*
"Well handsome care to explain what happened here?" The elf spoke with a beautiful voice that seemed to wrap you in a warm feeling just hearing it.
Turning towards her I raised a brow before speaking.
"And what would you like me to explain?"
She arched a perfectly shaped brow at me before gesturing to the bodies on the ground. I nodded my head in understanding.
"Ah I see, well him he tried to touch my pregnant lover so she killed him, and that one decided to die after seeing that on die... That is at least what I saw... as you can probably tell, I don't really care that they are dead..." I told her what happened but found myself being distracted by the presence of the woman beside the elf.
"I'm sorry but could you tell me your name?" I asked while looking at the woman next to the elf. As luck would have it thought the elf seemed a bit conceited as she stepped forward raising her head and pushing her chest outward.
"Ahh, it would seem you have fallen for my charm as well... I will tell you my name but please don't try and force me to love you back... You may call me Serene Silverwood, daughter of the Elven Royal couple the King and Queen of the Elves..."
She spoke like she was trying to impress me with her parentage. I raised a brow at her before acknowledging her because I knew if I didn't she would not let me live it down.
So I looked at her and nodded my head before looking past her to the woman wearing what seemed to be a receptionist outfit. Seeing my gaze the woman finally smiled slightly.
"It may have been almost 15 years Axel Wolf and you may have changed quite a bit but those eyes are a sure sign that it truly is you..."
15 years? I thought hard to see if I could remember her and then it struck me while looking into her hazel eye and saw something deep in them.
"K-Kayla..." I spoke the name softly but the woman still heard it as her eyes started to well up with tears. I could see the almost palpable relief on her face as she heard me call her name.
The elf and my women for their parts just kept looking in between the two of us in confusion. Finally not able to resist anymore Leah walked up and slipped her arm around my own before asking in a soft voice.
"Axel... Who is this my love?"
Without hesitation I responded knowing I never have to hide anything from the women I love and care for.
"Her name my love is Kayla Tremont and she is from the same world I came from... But I never expected you to be here before me..."

*Kayla Tremont's POV*
As I looked out of the second story window into the reception hall of the ADA from the Guild Master's office I felt as if lightning had struck my body when I saw the man out there. It was him...
It was Axel, I was sure of it. I felt as if my whole body was numb at the revelation.
Axel had been a major part of my life and I even spent a couple years living on his couch after he helped me get out of a really bad situation.
I was in a very toxic and scary relationship that turned very abusive very quickly. It was month before someone finally stepped in to help me. It happened when I was around 18 years old fresh out of high school and inside a horrible relationship for at least 6 months by this point.
The man I was with at the time had taken me out to the mall so he could buy himself some new clothes and to get the only concealer that worked to cover my bruises.
As we were in the shoe store an incredibly handsome man with a stoic look on his face walked in to the store. His silver eyes held a warmth to them that drew me into them entrancing me in ha heart beat.
The other man seeing my distracted state staring at another man struck my side hard with his elbow making me cry out clutching my side as I fell to the ground from the blow. I still remember everything as if it happened just yesterday.
"What are you looking at you slut? What do you want to bend over and let that guy fuck you? Do you think I would do nothing seeing you act like that? Remember something whore, you are mine, you don't have an-"
*CRASH*CRACK*
*THUD*
Every sentence being punctuated with a kick to my ribs or stomach I felt like I was going to die this time. Just before the last kick could come towards my head I heard a cacophony of noise while I had my eyes mostly shut from the pain.
I forced my eyes open and through the tears I saw my abusive boyfriend laying on the ground with a broken leg and a large purple bruise forming on his unconscious face.
I was struck dumb for a moment before I felt large strong hands lifting my aching body into a princess carry. Looking up I saw the same silver eyed man holding me now with a look of genuine concern on his face.
"Are you ok?"
His words so simple yet so endearing to me after having months of nothing but what seemed like torture made tears start to run down my face in rivers. I buried my face into his strong chest that day and cried hard.
I mean I ugly cried, it was bad snot everywhere but instead of being disgusted with me he carried me all the way to the hospital after having someone call the police to pick up the broken man from the ground.
During the time at the hospital was when I informed Axel that I was an orphan after my parents had died in a house fire, so I had no safe place to go to.
Without any hesitation he offered for me to stay at his place. I was hesitant at first but seeing the honesty and sincerity in his eyes I knew I could trust this man so I agreed.
I stayed with Axel for 3 years and during that time, it seemed as if the man never rested. Almost weekly or better yet most likely daily the man would help people consistently. It could be anything, if he saw someone in need of a helping hand from mundane to rescuing people from human traffickers, Axel never stopped helping people.
I had asked him one day while he was teaching me how to defend myself why he did everything he did. His response however was not what I expected.
"I am just doing what I think is right. I don't want to be remembered or anything... I just want to help people when I can. It makes me feel like I am making a difference no matter how small it truly is."
His answer had stunned me, but it also helped me understand that this man was just a kind person.
I was there for another year after that day before I finally ended up moving out just before Axel went on a trip to some country in the middle east to help with reconstruction projects after the war there ended.
I had been living away from Axel for around 2 years when I saw something that made my gut drop.
The same man I was in an abusive relationship with was in another store beating the woman at his side with what appeared to be a walking cane.
Seeing that, something in me snapped as I charged him with a primal yell. I crashed into him hard making him stumble into the wall. I instantly started throwing devastating blows into his guts without giving him anytime to recover.
I caught him with a couple good blows to his face as well. Splitting his eyebrow and cracking his nose with another I was feeling invincible at that moment. As my next blow was flying towards hit face something hit me in the back of the head making me see stars.
through blurry eyes I saw the woman that had been getting beaten just a moment before hold the same walking cane he had been beating her with while she stood over me looking like she was about to swing it down again.
The last thing I saw was the man standing up and smacking her in the face before taking the cane and turning towards me. He raised the cane in the air and smirked down at me with an evil glint in his eyes knowing exactly who I was.
He brought down the cane with a hard swing smashing me directly in the temple killing me instantly. Then I was brought to this world to be reincarnated and found myself hear working for the ADA.
Who would have thought that I would see Axel again one day. Yet hear he was standing in front of me. Without thinking anymore I rushed over to the man and wrapped my arms around him completely ignoring the glare I was getting from the Guild Master.
