Becoming an Accidental God in a New World

Chapter 95: Ch 95- Greet the Neighbour- Part 3

Knock

I waited with nervous breath as I waited for someone to open the door. My feet kept shifting as I tried to keep myself under check, but the wait was killing me.

My body remained calm while my mind made up various scenarios about our neighbours and who they could be.

Finally, the door opened and a beautiful woman around my age opened the door. Her red hair shined from the rays of the setting sun, making her red appear even more vivid, and her blue eyes looked at me with discomfort.

"Excuse me, but I think you have come to the wrong house. We will not start taking orders until tomorrow. Now, if you would please head back—"

The female told me as she tried to close the door to her house, but I spoke quickly before she could.

"I am not a suspicious person or here to give you an order. I am your neighbour from the bookstore next door. I came here to greet you today since I just came back from my trip. Here, this is a gift for you."

The female stopped closing the door and gave me another look. Then, she looked at Fenrir and the kids as well before her shoulders sagged in relief.

"O-Oh, I see… so you are from next door… for a second I thought… nevermind that. Would you like to come inside?"

The female asked as she opened her door for us. But I had a sudden feeling that taking her invitation would bring me nothing but trouble.

So I quickly declined her offer.

"No, that's fine. We should take our leave now. May you have a good time ahead."

I told the female before I took the kids back home. As we went back, I turned to look at her one last time.

The female had not returned inside and she was still looking at our gift with an almost suspicious look on her face.

From behind her came another person and he tapped her shoulder. He had blue hair and red eyes, but his face looked similar to the female's, making me believe that they were siblings.

However, the most impressive thing I found was my eyesight that was able to see it all clearly. I had never been able to see that far before, and never this clearly.

But I had no answer for my questions and no choice but to return home.

The dinner that night and the breakfast the next day were leftovers from the feast we had for lunch the previous day. And as tasty as that was, I was getting annoyed eating the same thing over and over again.

So I decided to go shopping in the evening and also check up on the claw machine. It had been some time since I last did that anyway.

Today was slower compared to usual and I did not expect anything to happen anytime soon. But I was proven wrong as a somewhat familiar face entered the shop with a familiar basket in his hand.

My blue-haired neighbour I saw yesterday was here, and he had brought the basket I gave to his sister as well.

He walked toward me immediately and placed the basket on the counter before giving me an intimidating look.

"I want you to stay away from my sister. I do not care who you are and what you want, but I will not allow you to date her."

The man told me as he tried to assert dominance. And he truly did feel intimidating… but I was in a little shock to notice that.

"Woah—! Wait a second. I think there has been a misunderstanding here. I am not in love with your sister. Yesterday was the first time I met her."

I told the man, quickly trying to eliminate the misunderstanding that could arise.

But the man just frowned as he looked at me.

"Oh really—! Then what about this basket filled with sweets and exotic goods? Do you think a normal person would have brought it over without a cause?"

He asked, and I did feel a little stupid for not thinking about this.

For me, these sweets and food were quite common because they were from my time. But people around me were not used to this food. It could come across as exotic or special.

Still, I needed to take care of this misunderstanding before it got too big.

"I brought the food over because I wanted to introduce myself as your neighbour and to welcome you. As for the food being… exotic… let's just say that it's a hobby of mine to cook and I made some extra, so I decided to share before it went bad."

I told the man a half-truth. I somehow had a feeling that he wouldn't take it well if I told him that this food was a by-product of my ability.

"So this… was not an offer for my sister? Fuck—! I feel so embarrassed… I mean, I don't believe you. Others have lied to me to get close to my sister but I have stopped them every time. Now I will stop you as well."

The man told me with a serious look on his face. But the slight blush betrayed his embarrassment.

It was clear that the man was trying to save face by trying to appear more mature than he was.

"So, would you like to buy anything from in here? Is there any way I can help you out?"

I asked the male and he quickly put the basket down before he left while muttering things under his breath.

"What a weirdo."

I almost thought I was the one who said that, but that voice was not mine. I turned to look around to see who had spoken, but there was no one in the room except me and Erebus.

The male twin had yet to speak to me, so I doubted that it was him who spoke.

But who else could it be but him? It had to be him and I felt proud of him.

'Ah! My kid is growing up.'
