Chapter 103: Ch 103- Guests- Part 4
There was a long line outside the train station and I doubted these people were here to buy a ticket.
When I got inside, I saw the claw machine being surrounded by people who wanted to use it.
But these people were unable to do much when they kept getting shoved away here and there.
I watched this for a minute before I tried to walk toward the claw machine. But I was pushed back every time by these people. They refused to budge even a single second.
So I had no choice but to pull my ever reliable trick—close the machine.
As expected, people got disappointed quickly and many left. But some stayed behind to keep an eye on the claw machine and be the first one to use it.
The smaller crowd allowed me to get near the claw machine and I finally collected the faith points from it.
As expected, no one batted an eye as I did that and my heart calmed down as I saw the 800 faith points on my screen. I was getting close to the 1000 faith points and unlocking new things in the system.
I started to head back, but I had not gotten too far when I had a sudden nagging feeling, leading me somewhere.
The feeling was barely there and it kept tugging at me. But I did my best to ignore it and walk home… or I thought I did.
But a few minutes of walking and I realized that I was not heading toward home. But rather, toward a small alley where I could see a human hand sticking out.
I felt terrified as I realized that I was all alone in an alley where anything could happen to me. My corpse would not even be found if I died here. I needed to get out of here as soon as possible.
"W-Who's there… shopkeeper?"
Leo's familiar voice stopped me and I turned back around, only to see a bloody body accompanying that hand in the shadow.
The older male was leaning against the wall, now trying his best to stand up.
"Fuck-! I wanted to get help… ugh-! Shopkeeper, can you help me out?"
The man asked as he tried to step out of the shadows. But he looked even worse in the light.
His whole body was covered in bruises and Leo was leaning heavily against his side as he tried to keep his eyes open.
But it was of no use as his body finally collapsed and he fell forward. My body moved on its own and grabbed his, only to get dragged down as well.
"Fuck-! He's out cold… what should I do now? I don't think I can drag him back home myself."
I had no muscles to speak of and from what I had noticed when I tried to catch Leo, he was heavy. He had a lot of hidden muscles that caused me to groan.
But I could not possibly leave Leo out alone either. So I had to compromise here and find a solution fast.
"Ugh, I did not want to do this. But I guess I have no choice. Is there anything available to me in the store?"
I looked at the store, hoping to find anything to help me when my eyes fell on the World Tree's fruit. And for a whole minute, I felt tempted to feed it to Leo and have him recover.
But that World Tree's fruit was my lifeline and I could not use it like that.
Besides, most of Leo's wounds were superficial and they would not leave any lasting impact. That much I could say for physical wounds.
I was also lucky because the system had some incredible medicine to help Leo out. I gave him some for his wounds before I wrapped them up.
Then, I bought a strength potion and picked him up.
It all cost around 50 faith points that made me almost regret my decision. But in the end, I did want to save a life.
My store was not far away and I somehow managed to drag Leo all the way there. When I opened the door, both Nyx and Erebus came running.
Fenrir led them and he sounded annoyed.
"Master, where were you? Do you have any idea… why do you have a human on your shoulder?"
Fenrir asked as he looked at the man I was taking inside. But I huffed and continued to drag Leo inside.
"I found Leo and decided to bring him back because he was injured. Can you all keep an eye on him while I brew some tea?"
I asked as I finally threw that body on the bed and went to the kitchen to prepare fresh tea.
Leo groaned as he started to wake up. The medicine was starting to work. But he was still tense enough to attack anyone who approached him.
So I had to be the one to approach him and he grabbed my arm.
"Who the fuck—"
"Calm down and here! Take this tea for now. It will help with the pain and your wounds."
I handed him the tea and Leo finally came around. He looked embarrassed as he sat there, before he looked at me with clear eyes.
"You are… the shopkeeper. Did you help me out? I don't know how to thank you for it."
He told me as he tried to get up. I helped him sit so that he could sip on the tea before I went back to cooking.
"Don't worry about it. I helped you because I wanted to. It has nothing to do with you. I won't ask you many questions, like what you were doing out there or anything. Just focus on getting better for now and then we can talk more."
I told the man and he gritted his teeth before he calmed down. He was clearly upset about something but he did not want to tell me.
And I also had a feeling that the less I knew, the better it would be for me.
