Chapter 74 Yang Xintian's First Experience
After making sure the three ladies had eaten their fill, Sun Dasheng brought various nutritional supplements and went to spend the next few days with the pregnant Wu Xiaoli.
Fortunately, she had a gentle nature and wasn't overly dependent. Visiting her every now and then was enough to make her content.
"Brother Sun, you have so much to do. You don't need to stay by my side all day." True to form, he had only been with her for a few days before she took the initiative to tell him not to stay.
"Then take care of yourself. Remember to call me when it's time for your prenatal checkup. I'll come no matter what I'm doing," Sun Dasheng urged, stroking her belly.
"I know," Wu Xiaoli said, touching her own stomach. "I'll take good care of our baby."
"Silly girl, you're just as important to me," Sun Dasheng said, stroking her head.
She obediently leaned her head on his shoulder, letting him comfort her.
After leaving Wu Xiaoli's house, Sun Dasheng returned to the villa. The three young actresses who had been filming in Hengdian had only been back for a short while before being sent off again, so Courtyard No.1 was empty. He had heard from Sun Dacheng that the market was exceptionally good recently, making it the perfect opportunity to shoot a few more dramas.
Even in broad daylight, the three women who lived at the villa weren't home either; they were all out managing his business ventures.
Sun Dasheng had just gotten home and was watching some TV when the doorbell rang. He checked the security monitor for the front door and saw it was Yang Xintian, whom he hadn't seen in a long time.
What is this girl doing here looking for me?
Without giving it much thought, he opened the door and asked directly, "Why aren't you in class? What are you doing here?"
"Uncle Sun, you're home?"
"Otherwise? Am I a ghost?" Sun Dasheng replied in annoyance.
Yang Xintian stuck out her tongue. "Today is my birthday. I was going to call and invite you, but I thought a personal visit would be more sincere, so I came over. Halfway here, I suddenly remembered that you aren't a student like us and might be working, so I was about to turn back. But since I'd already come this far, I decided to try my luck. I can't believe you're actually here."
"What is all this nonsense? Why would you kids invite an adult like me to your birthday party? Are you worried it won't be lively enough without me?"
Yang Xintian giggled and hugged Sun Dasheng's arm coquettishly. "Come on, Uncle Sun! We're not kids, we're eighteen-year-old adults now, you know? Besides, you're not old at all. I showed your photo to my classmates, and they all said you look young and handsome."
"Really?" Sun Dasheng asked.
"Of course!" Yang Xintian raised her hand as if taking an oath. "If I'm telling even half a lie, may I never make another cent for the rest of my life."
Heh... making such a serious vow. Isn't she afraid it'll actually come true?
"Alright then. I'll go change. Since it's your birthday, I should wear something a little more formal."
「Seven in the evening.」
The private room in the five-star hotel was already full of people.
This girl's connections shouldn't be underestimated.
As soon as he pushed open the door, Yang Xintian immediately rushed over to greet him. "Uncle Sun, thank you for coming to my birthday party! Please, sit next to me."
The table was filled with kids, so he wasn't particularly interested. However, he did spot a familiar face: Xiang Yunsheng's daughter, Xiang Zixuan.
"No need, go entertain your classmates," he said, declining Yang Xintian's suggestion. He then walked toward Xiang Zixuan, who was sitting by herself.
Xiang Zixuan, who had been looking down at her phone, sensed someone approaching and turned her head. A trace of surprise flickered across her face. "Uncle Sun, you came too?"
Sun Dasheng sat down and looked around. "Why are you sitting over here?" Then, as if remembering something, he chuckled. "I've been so busy lately that I forgot about what happened before. What's wrong, haven't you two made up yet?"
Xiang Zixuan shook her head. "That's not it, Uncle Sun. I actually forgave her a long time ago, and we've made up, but..."
"But what?" Sun Dasheng asked curiously.
Xiang Zixuan bit her lip and whispered in his ear, "It's just that after we made up, she seems lukewarm toward me. She's not as enthusiastic as she used to be."
Sun Dasheng immediately understood the likely reason but didn't tell her the truth. He simply offered some comfort, "Maybe she's still feeling a bit awkward about everything."
"Don't blame her."
"Hmph! I'm not blaming her," Xiang Zixuan retorted haughtily.
Sun Dasheng smiled. The relationships between young girls were truly interesting.
Before long, everyone had arrived. The food hadn't been served yet when someone suddenly suggested they present their gifts to the birthday girl.
The suggestion came from a boy with a center part and a slick, pampered appearance. He had a large gift box next to him, and he clearly wanted to show off. A few of his lackeys immediately chimed in to agree. Although the others didn't look too pleased, no one objected.
Seeing no opposition, he triumphantly presented his gift box. Inside was a gleaming green jade bracelet. Judging by its quality and luster, it was clearly valuable.
"Wow!" everyone exclaimed, casting admiring glances his way. *Did he really spend so much just to pursue a girl?*
Wang Yiyang scanned his surroundings proudly. Heh, that'll show them. Now they know what I'm capable of. To win over my goddess, I even stole my mother's treasured dowry.
Being slightly outdone might inspire jealousy, but when someone surpasses everyone else by a huge margin, there is only admiration.
Seeing that Wang Yiyang was willing to spare no expense, the others felt more relaxed. Their gifts were average in comparison, but they were still acceptable.
After collecting all the presents, Yang Xintian stood in the center of the room. "Thank you all for the carefully prepared birthday gifts. I love them all, so I'll happily accept them."
