Chapter 53: “Ultimate Power: Judgment Spear!”

Aboli could hardly believe what she was seeing before her very eyes.

If Violeta's form had once intrigued her, then Sylus's current form brought only horror, revulsion, even shame—shame on behalf of all existence in Zone 1—for having allowed Sylus to live until this very day!

An angel with such a form should have been strangled at birth!

"The fact that you survived, even awakening a Supreme Form, is a disgrace so great that all Zone 1 should hang their heads. But don't worry—today, I'll erase this shameful existence!"

Even as she spoke, a massive spear of light appeared in Aboli's hand, nearly ten meters long, its head wide and razor-sharp. The moment her words fell, her body vanished from Sylus's sight.

Sylus, however, merely stood unmoving. Suddenly, he beat his wings and spun around—jet-black feathers sharp as blades shot forth toward Aboli, who was launching her strike!

Aboli immediately raised her spear, blocking them. Each feather shattered against the weapon, dispersing into smoke and dust.

Sylus lifted both hands. From his palms, two pitch-black magic circles flared to life. Black orbs shot out one after another, swelling larger and larger as they flew, encircling Aboli.

Before she could react, Sylus clenched his fists. The dark spheres exploded! The sky, already swallowed in night, seemed even heavier, drowned further by the dense blackness he unleashed.

The shadows soon scattered. Within them was revealed a pair of wings curled together like an egg. Scratches marred their surface, robbing them of the once-glossy luster they had possessed.

Suddenly, the wings unfurled, unleashing a fierce gale. Aboli's face, twisted with fury, was revealed.

"You bastard—today you will die!"

"Luminous Pursuit!"

When her words rang out, ten massive spears of light appeared high in the sky, their tips engraved with dazzling golden patterns. Radiating scorching brilliance and razor-edged sharpness, they shot straight toward Sylus, carrying power enough to rend space itself apart!

Sylus beat his wings and vanished instantly. Yet the spears did not stop—they chased relentlessly. Just as Sylus could sense Aboli, Aboli could feel his presence in turn.

Across the heavens, streaks of light blazed at the lightning speed, flaring here for an instant, then ripping apart the sky there the next—like golden stars shining in turns.

"Boom!"

An explosion erupted, followed by more detonations in quick succession, as though the very sky itself were being torn asunder.

Sylus, however, met the spear head-on. His body was pierced through and through by the light. No fresh blood flowed—only a black, oil-like liquid shimmered and spilled.

With his bare hands, he crushed the light itself, triggering one explosion after another. Yet his legs and one wing could not escape being skewered by the glowing lances.

He roared—a deafening sound—and raised both arms high into the sky. A sphere of darkness condensed, denser and denser, until it was larger than an entire mansion. He uttered no words; all that left his throat were guttural, meaningless growls.

The dark sphere surged forth in a frenzy, hurtling straight toward Aboli at a speed impossible to evade!

"Boom! BOOM!"

The ground and heavens alike quaked, as if the entire planet halted for a single heartbeat. Gales tore the earth apart, and rocks and debris were swept into the air. The violent shockwave collapsed everything within a radius of fifty meters—nothing could remain standing.

The earth fractured into countless fissures. Aboli hovered above the gaping crater carved by Sylus's strike. Her wings were shredded, her feathers tainted with vile darkness. Even the radiant garments of light upon her body seemed dulled and dim.

Her eyes lowered, long silver lashes veiling what light remained within. Her lips curved down slightly—her entire face shadowed with cold displeasure.

She tilted her head back to gaze at the dark figure high above. This was no longer a mere battle of intrigue. This was about honor, power, the future—hers, and Zone 1's. For whatever reason, today, between her and Sylus, only one would survive!

Aboli's wings beat gently, lifting her swiftly into the air, a raging gale trailing behind.

She cast her gaze down at Sylus, lips curling into a faint smile.

"What a pity. At the very least, I found Louis interesting. But after this strike, he too will vanish along with you. That irritates me—because never once has there been something I desired that I did not obtain."

Her eyes narrowed. All three pairs of her wings spread wide and rose upright.

"That's why I'll make your death more painful—ten thousand times more agonizing!"

She roared. In the next instant, blinding radiance burst from her body. It was as if every wound upon her had vanished for a moment. The immense halo above shone brilliantly, casting down searing torrents of energy.

At this moment, Aboli was a single figure—like an angel descending from the heavens. Her hair and garments of light streamed and coiled in the storm. Raising both hands before her chest, she summoned a colossal spear, upright, its tip leveled toward the earth.

"Ding---!"

The sound was like the toll of an ancient celestial bell, echoing across all creation, sweeping the land in a mighty gale—loud enough to be heard even at the very edges of Zone 5.

Countless phantoms appeared above. They bore small wings—men, women, even children—like statues of ancient Greece, their eyes filled with reverence and beauty, raising their devotion to the heavens, transforming the sky into a sacred, resplendent cathedral.

Rays of light shot forth like blades, painting the sun's brilliance.

Aboli's voice resounded, entwined with that divine hymn from on high:

"I, Epoch Sovereign, vow to burn every drop of energy within me, to burn my light, to burn my soul, to summon forth a spear of judgment that rends all darkness—"

"Ultimate Power: Judgment Spear!"

With the resounding crash, Aboli thrust the spear in her hand downward with all her might. At the same time, a colossal phantom spear materialized at its tip—a spearhead many times larger than the one she held—surging with boundless light, aimed straight at Sylus!

The phantom was so massive that its spearhead alone could blot out Sylus's entire figure, even with his enormous wings!

Aboli hovered high above, cold and unyielding, her gaze joined by countless phantoms, all looking down upon the embodiment of darkness about to be torn apart.

"Ding—! Boom! Crash!"

The heavy sound shook the land, pressing it down entirely. A territory spanning over thirty meters in radius collapsed, fractures spreading endlessly outward, while a speck of darkness struggled feebly within the overwhelming brilliance, so small it seemed insignificant.

An explosion erupted when the spear pinned Sylus down, blasting the earth into devastation. Dust and debris surged skyward, blotting out a section of the heavens—only the light remained, flickering, unquenchable!

Aboli twisted her wrist, and the spear in her hand dissolved into nothingness. The phantoms behind her also faded away, leaving only a radiant sky.

Her eyes lowered, her face showing no hint of expression—cold and emotionless—as she gazed at the dust-choked earth below.

A once-beautiful land had been reduced to ash. But Aboli did not care. As long as Sylus was dead, that was all that mattered…

What? Impossible!

That thought only flickered through Aboli's mind when Sylus's figure shot upward, breaking free of the dust shroud. Feathers from his wings launched like deadly projectiles, streaking straight toward her.

Aboli dodged swiftly, but two black feathers still pierced through her arm and waist. Silver blood spilled at once. She stumbled in her evasions, her expression crumbling into devastation, as if she had just witnessed a scene that shattered her worldview.
