Chapter 269: The Storm That Shook the Earth
The oldest child of the herald, The storm that shook the earth licked his lips and wiped off the blood.
" To think my siblings would be defeated by such weak creatures, how pathetic but fear not.
Your power will not go to waste, I will assimilate you, make your power my own and bring the wrath of my father to this pathetic world."
The storm that shook the earth was not a new creation of the herald. He was what was known as the fallen, beings born under the heavens who joined the side of the endless void.
He was amongst the weakest of the fallen of course, even amongst the children of the herald but unlike his siblings he had achieved something most did not.
He managed to personally bring doom to his entire world, even as a mere projection realm fallen.
This was a feat that was hard even for the true beings of the void, very few heralds had managed to do that and even fewer envoys.
The only beings known to be almost guaranteed to destroy the world when they descend are the Princes and Princesses of the Nameless.
Which he totally understood, nobody could compare to those monsters after all they possess the true void flame, an equivalent of the divine flame under the heavens.
Their power was something he greatly feared. He turned his attention to his two younger siblings laying below his feet.
He grabbed the child of winter who tried to struggle but he was too weak to resist. " Goodbye little brother."
He opened his massive cow head which had long sharp teeth which was unfitting for a bovine like creature.
The bringer of doom watched all of this, her body started shaking with fear then tears streamed down her eyes.
" I...I.." her voice came out weak and broken. The storm that shook the earth leaned closer.
" What, speak up sister so I can hear your last words." She tried to raise her head to come closer to him.
Realising she was too weak to stand he drew even closer bringing his ear next to her mouth.
" I..I remember." Then she laughed softly, her voice becoming as sweet as it was before her fall.
" I remember everything now, I remember who I was, I remember Anna, poor sweet Anna."
Then she turned and looked him. A smile appeared on her face. " You will fail oh dear brother, you and your father for you see, this world is protected."
" What do you mean?" She didn't answer and started laughing. " What do you mean I will fail? Tell me what you know sister."
She laughed even harder, in a fit of rage he crushed her head and ate her assimilating her power into his.
Then he received a voice transmission from the herald of the plague. He knelt on one knee.
" My lord father, I am pleased to hear your voice." He said with a shaking voice, both from fear and excitement.
While he knew his creator and lord was not the strongest amongst the heralds of the Nameless of plagues.
He was still a sovereign realm void creature, his power was beyond measure. A being with enough power to destroy the entire universe.
As a creature of the void whose very existence is tailored to destruction he was naturally stronger than children of the heavens of the same grade and rank.
So The strom that shook the earth did not dare show any disrespect towards this master of his.
' Fear not my child, do not take the words of that failure to heart, this world has no defenders worth you worrying about.
They are weak and fragile and will crumble before your might. These two failures were merely too weak.
Which is understandable as I created them from the lowly creatures of this world.'
The storm that shook the earth bowed even lower but he felt the weight in his heart being lifted.
" Yes my lord, I will not fail you." He received no reply which didn't bother him. His father talking to him was already rare.
He cherished the opportunity to talk to him no matter how briefly. Then he stood up, in a few days he would fully assimilate the powers of the other two.
A few days later The torm that shook the earth stood at the peak of a tall mountain. Below he could see a few beasts searching.
He knew they were searching for him. He clicked his tongue. ' Persistent bastards, you brought this upon yourself.'
He raised his hands and dark particles poured out of him into the clouds above. The power of the Storm that shook the earth was natural disasters.
Floods, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions etc. As along as the disaster is one that causes massive destruction it was under his power.
There were many more like him under the authority of the Nameless of plagues, after all, that was his power.
As the clouds absorbed the dark particles they turned dark in seconds. Lightning danced through them like snakes.
Hail started falling. After merging the powers of the other two, his own power had grown to absurd levels.
Hail of ice as large as houses started falling to the ground like rain. However that was not all.
The ground started shaking and rising like waves. An earthquake that crumbled mountains like sand castles shook the earth for thousand of kilometres.
Tornadoes that ripped the ground apart appeared all over the land. This was the power he used to destroy his world.
And it had grown stronger, much stronger than the time he destroyed his own world, a world older and more stable than this one.
While the strongest in his world was also a projection realm like this one, his world had a complete lineage.
It denizens were certainly stronger than these barbaric natives. He could already imagine the foolish beasts below running around in fear like headless chickens.
Then he looked down on them and frowned. They all huddled around a small white creature.
The hail seemed to meet an invisible barrier and was unable to touch any of them and neither did any of the other disasters he caused.
That tiny creature raised her head and looked at him. Their eyes met and it grinned.
