Chapter 17: Chapter 17: Trump Card
"Your trump card? This fight is over? Don't make me laugh, Commoner! I won't fall for such an obvious, pathetic bluff! I don't know how you survived my last attack, but no matter...you will die here today at my hand, rest assured of that! [Light Slash]!" Exclaimed Zilk, firing out a slashing wave of light towards Aster before he shot towards him rapidly.
Aster didn't move, standing still as the slash closed in on him, before Zilk's eyes widened in disbelief as the Spell suddenly came to a halt as it got within a meter of Aster, before dispersing.
He gritted his teeth as he continued charging forward, before letting out a fierce yell of exertion as he closed in and drove his spear straight towards Aster's chest, grimacing as a jarring pain burst out across his right forearm, as the spear came to an abrupt halt a meter in front of Aster.
"What the-...? Why can't I get through!?"
"Like I said, this fight is over...I created this Spell fairly recently, so I haven't fully mastered it yet, but while it's active, I'm untouchable. I call it Telekinetic Zone," Smirked Aster, as Zilk backed away warily, his right arm numb and trembling shakily.
Telekinetic Zone, a Level 3 that Aster had formulated a few months ago, and using for the first time in a real fight. It creates a telekinetic field that covered a one-meter radius around Aster's body, allowing him to freely control anything that enters its range...provided that he allows it to enter that range.
However, there was a downside to it, it consumes Mana at a tremendous rate. Even with Aster possessing Magic Power comparable to that of the Royals, he couldn't maintain this Spell for very long.
"What the hell kind of Spell is that!?" Snapped Zilk, keeping his distance.
"Hm, what makes you think I'd tell you that? I was nice enough to tell you what I named it, but I'm not stupid enough to tell you how it works and what it does. If you're curious, why don't you come take a closer look? Or are you afraid?" Inquired Aster tauntingly.
"You cocky, lowborn Commoner scum!" He exclaimed furiously, as he shot towards Aster in a seething rage.
"How the hell did this guy become a Captain? Sure, he isn't weak as I'd first thought, but his lack of composure makes him much less of a threat than he'd otherwise be," Aster thought to himself in bemusement, as a barrage of Light Spells came shooting in towards him, before dispersing as they struck the boundary of his Telekinetic Zone.
Zilk leapt forward as he closed in on Aster, before driving his spear towards Aster's throat, his eyes widening in surprise as his spear didn't come to a halt this time, zipping in towards the front of Aster's neck.
"Hah, is that the extent of your so-called trump card, I-...huh?" He began triumphantly, before trailing off as his spear came to a sudden stop a few centimeters in front of Aster's neck.
He started to try and back away, his eyes widening as he realized he couldn't move his right arm, a powerful vice grip tightly holding his wrist in place.
"That wasn't very smart, willingly entering my range like this. Fair warning...this is going to hurt like hell," Aster informed him with a cold smile as he stepped closer to the Captain, right as Zilk's right forearm suddenly twisted violently, sprays of blood bursting out as bone shards tore through his skin and poked out, eliciting an excruciating scream of pain from him.
Aster then freed his arm, the spear falling onto the ground with a clatter as Zilk stumbled back in agony, his right forearm severely mangled and profusely dripping with blood, each of his fingers sharply bent in multiple, unnatural directions.
"M-my arm...!" He wailed in agony, right as Aster took aim and fired out a telekinetic slash, hitting Zilk's mangled right arm at just above the elbow and slicing right through, blood bursting out of the stump that was left of his arm, as his mangled forearm hit the ground with a splatting thud and bounced away slightly.
"Oh, my bad...that looked really painful, so I figured cutting it off would help. Did it not?" Inquired Aster, putting on a mocking look on concern.
"Y-you bastard...I'll kill you! I'll fucking kill you!" Uttered Zilk seethingly, trembling in rage and pain as he glared viciously at Aster while trying to put pressure on his wound to stem the bleeding, beads of sweat pouring down his face.
"Sorry to say, you won't get the chance. Time for you to die, Capt-...hm?" Began Aster, before glancing to his right as footsteps echoed out, to see a group of Knights approaching.
"What the...? Is that the Captain?"
"No way...how did a Commoner manage to injure him like that?"
"Impossible..."
"[Blinding Flash]!" Exclaimed Zilk, unleashing an intensely bright light as he scrambled in a rush and began to retreat, before yelling at the Knights who'd arrived as he tore off some fabric from his undershirt with his left hand and pressed it against his injury, "Kill him! I don't care what it takes, kill him even at the cost of your lives! That's an order!"
"You fucking coward," Muttered Aster in disgust, as the Knights shot forward and surrounded him, before charging in towards him in unison.
"What the hell!?"
"I can't move! What is this!?"
Aster looked around at them as their arms entered the range of his Telekinetic Zone, glancing at each of their faces before nodding.
"Okay, good, all of you are targets. So, die," He remarked, as he telekinetically pulled on their arms, breaking their wrists to make them drop their weapons as he steadily dragged their heads into his zone while they desperately tried to resist, to no avail.
And then, in the blink of an eye, all of their heads got crushed simultaneously, blood and brain chunks bursting out, along with shards of their skulls.
Thuds echoed out as their bodies hit the ground around Aster, who looked around but couldn't catch sight of Zilk.
"He tore off some cloth when he ran away, he must have pressed that against his wound to stop the bleeding and avoid leaving a blood trail for me to follow. I've used up a lot of Mana, I can't maintain this for much longer. And I can't take on a large number of Knights without this Spell, so I should probably retreat and regroup with the others," Aster muttered to himself reluctantly, as he took out his Teleport Spell Card...
