Bastard Homunculus: Reborn in the Corpse Pit

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Tripping Balls

"You're wasting your effort, your attacks can't break through my barriers! Just surrender and accept your fate, Commoner!" Snapped Junne, as she blocked a barrage of incoming blood projectiles with a barrier wall.

"Heh, that's rich coming from someone who's been completely on the defensive this whole time," Taunted Colt with a smirk, before firing out a pressurized slash of blood at her from the side of his hand as he swung his arm across in her direction.

A shallow cut appeared across the barrier wall as the bloody slash slammed onto it, but failed to break through, before Junne took down her barrier and swung her whip towards Colt with a sharp crack.

Colt took a couple of swift steps back, getting out of the whip's reach, before raised his right arm and letting the tip of the whip graze his forearm, a smirk spreading out across his lips as trickles of blood ran down his arm.

"Did you just deliberately...? You sick freak..."

"Music to my ears," Laughed Colt, before firing out blood needles out of the cut Junne's whip had inflicted, before she quickly formed another barrier wall to block his attacks.

"Like I said, it's futile...your attacks are too weak!" She exclaimed, before swinging her whip at him again, but he was out of reach.

"Yeah, she's right...her Barrier Magic is fairly high level, more durable than any I've encountered before. None of the Blood Magic Spells I've mastered have enough penetrative power to break through her barrier...this has been fun, but I should probably bring this to an end now," Colt thought to himself, before raising his hands and chanting, "[Blood Mist]!"

Bursts of red erupted from his palms, obscuring the area in a crimson haze, Colt vanishing from Junne's sight as the smell of blood permeated the air.

She quickly backed away in response and surrounded herself with a barrier dome, scrunching up her nose as she inhaled some of the bloody mist.

"That damned Commoner...he may be a masochistic pervert, but he isn't stupid. He was careful to keep his distance, I could've used an obstacle Spell like Horizontal or Vertical Razor Slate and sliced him in two if he'd come blindly charging in, but he didn't give me any opportunity to use those Spells. Tch, it's at times like this that I really wish I'd awakened an Attack Magic Class instead, I-...," Junne thought to herself, before her train of thought was interrupted as a sharp pain burst out across her left calf.

She let out an agonized scream of pain, turning her gaze down before her eyes widened in horror as she saw a tendril of blood seeping out of the ground below, and plunged into her right leg, burrowing in.

Her focus on maintaining her barrier Spell wavered, her chest tightening in panic as the defensive dome around her faded as the blood mist started to dissipate, right as Colt entered her line of sight from ahead.

He extended out a blood tendril from his hand, before whipping it towards her, striking the side of her right shoulder and inflicting a deep gash across that spot, causing her to drop her whip, before he fired out a rapid arrow projectile of blood at her chest.

She quickly turned her body across, crying out in pain as the arrow deeply sliced across the side of her left arm, blood pouring out of the gash as Colt shot towards her and closed in, leaping forward and slamming his foot onto her stomach, launching her back several meters upon impact, her back slamming onto the ground with a jarring thud, as she let out a sharp gasp of pain.

She then froze as Colt approached her, before she formed another barrier dome around herself, beads of sweat pouring down her face as the injuries he'd inflicted throbbed excruciatingly.

"Sorry, but I've already won. See, my Blood Magic lets me control my blood freely, even when it's out of my body. Well, I had to learn this Level 3 Spell called Blood Manipulation in order to do that, before that I could only fire out straight projectiles. I also had to learn a Level 3 Spell called Blood Recovery, otherwise I'd die of blood loss if I launched too many attacks.

The worst part is that, unlike the regular Attack and Support Magic Classes, Irregular Magic Classes don't come with manuals in the form of Grimmoires, which means we have to basically create and name the Spells ourselves. Naming the Spells helps make the visualization process faster, so-...never mind, I'm getting off-topic.

To get back to the point, like I said, I can freely control my blood, including any of my blood that's left my body...which of course, includes the bit of blood I injected into your leg. Allow me to demonstrate," Smirked Colt, as he turned his gaze to Junne's injured right leg, taking control of the blood he'd injected into it and made it coil around the bone in her calf, before steadily constricting it tighter and tighter.

"Wh-what're you-...n-no, wait, don't-...ahhhhh!!!" She began shakily, before screaming in agony as a loud crunch rang out from inside her leg, as the pressure from Colt's constricting tendril of blood deeply cracked the bones in her calf.

She scrambled back in terror with her hands as her barrier dome faded, the pain keeping her from being able to cast another Spell, her Mana flow erratic and unsteady with her mind in a frenzy, unable to focus.

As Colt approached her, she shakily reached into her pocket and took out a bottle, before flinging it at the ground in front of her, the bottle shattering and the contents, a dark brown liquid, splattered across the dirt.

"Come on, now, where are you aiming-...?" Colt began tauntingly, before she took out a box of matches and sparked one, before tossing it at the puddle around the broken bottle, a dark, fiery flash erupting as the match hit the puddle, before a thick black cloud of smoke burst out.

Colt let out a sharp cough as he inhaled some of it, before quickly backing away with a grimace, covering his nose and mouth, but it was too late. He let out a dazed groan as his vision began to spin sharply, stumbling back before falling onto the ground.

He looked around incredulously, the objects in his line of sight swirling around and changing shape, his head spinning...in other words, he was tripping balls.

The liquid in the bottle that Junne had flung out contained a drug that went by the name Dreamer, it was a dangerous, toxic narcotic that steadily debilitates the body and was highly addictive, those addicted to it don't tend to live very long lives.

And normally, only a small drop is used for a single dose...the brief whiff of the smoke that Colt had inhaled, was a good twenty times stronger than a normal dose.

Despite his addled state and this being the first time he was exposed to the drug, he maintained just enough lucidity to muster up all the focus he could manage, extending out several blood tendrils with razor sharp edges and began whipping them around him, unable to move or do anything else.

But he didn't need to...Junne had already left. In her injured state, killing him was the farthest thing from her mind, she'd crawled away as fast as she could the instant after she set the narcotic puddle ablaze, getting to safety the only thing she could think of.

The drug burns fast, so the smoke had already begun to fade, and to Colt's luck, the direction of the wind had been blowing the smoke away from him after his initial inhale...had he inhaled any more of it, it may well have proven fatal.

Meanwhile, not too far off in the city...

"Hold still and let me cut it off already!" Snapped Lexia, whipping a bone blade across towards Ellis's crotch, which he narrowly evaded before driving a swift palm strike towards the left side of her face.

As his hand closed in on her, she rapidly extended out a bone spike from her forearm towards his face. He quickly tilted his head across in alarm, his palm slamming onto Lexia's left cheek, her head jerking across to the right as Ellis let out a sharp yell of pain, as the bone spike sliced across his right eye, blinding him.

"Y-you...you bitch!" He exclaimed, before unleashed a crackling streak of lightning towards her, which she narrowly evaded by swiftly backing away and getting some distance.

Lexia grimaced slightly before spitting out a bit of blood, her opponent's palm strike having busted the inside of her left cheek.

"What, just because I was attacking low, did you think that I was only going to launch low attacks?" Inquired Lexia coldly, a sadistic gleam in her eyes.

"I-I'll...I'll fucking kill you, you Commoner whore! [Grand Lightning Cannon]!" He exclaimed in a murderous rage, as he began to charge up and take aim at her with a powerful Level 3 Spell.

Lexia quickly extended out a curved, boomerang-like bone object from her hand, flinging it at Ellis with a sharp flick of her wrist as he locked onto to her, the projectile spinning through the air and curving in towards Ellis's head as intense sparks crackled around his hands.

In his rage and reduced line of sight, he didn't even notice the boomerang, the projectile closing in and striking the left side of his head with a sharp thunk right as he fired the Spell, which veered off to Lexia's right as the impact of the boomerang shifted the trajectory of his aim.

Lexia quickly sprang off to her left, narrowly evading the massive, crackling beam of lightning as it roared towards her, the air along its path shimmering and crackling violently as the electric beam petered out.

Lexiab swiftly got back onto her feet as the beam faded and rapidly sprinted towards Ellis as he stumbled across with a dazed groan, a deep gash across the left side of his forehead, blood streaming down and trickling into his left eye.

His eye widened in alarm as Lexia closed in on him, as he desperately tried to regain his bearings and tried to hit the side of her neck with a palm chop...but in his dazed state, his movements were unsteady and clumsy.

Lexia easily blocked the attempted chop by raising her forearm in the way of his arm, before slipping behind him as she extended out a bone blade in her right hand and whipped it across at his heels, slicing through them before unleashing swift, precise thrusts at his shoulders, his arms slumping to the sides as the blade pierced into his shoulders deeply, before he collapsed onto his knees, his limbs all but useless.

Lexia then walked around in front of him and slammed her foot onto his chest, knocking him onto his back as she loomed over him, an icy glare in her eyes as she met his gaze, before her gaze trailed down towards his crotch.

"W-wait, please, I...I'll do anything, just don't-...n-no, stop!" He cried, as Lexia sliced the fabric of his trousers around the crotch area apart, exposing his genitals.

"Stop? And why would I do that? I said that I'd cut off your dick, and I keep my word. Beg and plead all you want, you're not going to make a liar out of me," She stated coldly, before whipping her blade across the base of his penis, slicing it clean off.

As Ellis howled in pain, blood gushing out of his crotch, she stabbed the severed appendage onto the tip of her blade and lifted it up, before driving it towards his open, screaming mouth, stuffing his penis into his throat, choked gasps echoing out as it got lodged into his airway.

She then pulled the blade back, before swinging it across and slicing open his stomach, blood gushing out before she began inflicting several cuts and stabs all over his body, a puddle of blood forming around his body as he helplessly thrashed and writhed around in agony, unable to even scream out in pain with his own dick lodged down his throat.

She was careful not to hit any vital spots that would put him out of his misery quickly, she wanted to ensure that he would suffer as much as possible and die a slow, painful death.

"Okay, that should be enough...you'll die of blood loss in a few minutes or so. I didn't push your dick too deep into your throat, so you should be able to breathe a little through your nose. Make sure to take steady breaths and stay conscious...wouldn't want you to miss even a moment of the pain before you finally die," She remarked, before whipping the tip of the blade across his left eye as tears streamed down his face, a muffled cry ringing out as she fully blinded him, before walking away as she tossed the bone blade away, thinking to herself, "Alright, now what?

Aster should be fine on his own, so I should probably go find Colt...that idiot has a tendency to fuck around too much and expose himself to unnecessary risk. It's a good thing there aren't any people around...I bet the civilians stay indoors at night time in order to avoid being preyed upon by the Knights. As for the Knights, most of them are probably drinking or something right now...immediate backup is unlikely since they'll probably assume that their Captain and two First-Class Knights will be more than capable of handling this, but the more time that passes, the more likely it gets that more Knights will show up. Yeah, I should hurry."

She then began heading off in the direction that Colt had driven his opponent off towards, keeping a wary out eye and sticking by the shadows to avoid being spotted in case any new enemies showed up.

But she didn't run into so much as a single soul, the streets were deserted, eerily quiet.

For years, the Knights in the city had made use of the Commoners for their own entertainment, which happened most frequently at night.

As a result, the majority of the citizens in Garnet City locked themselves indoors as soon as the sun sets, desperately waiting for morning to come.

It wasn't much longer before Lexia came upon the area in which Colt had fought his battle, she spotted him sprawled across the ground, unmoving, her chest tightening as she rushed over.

"N-no, don't tell me he's-...huh?" She began shakily, before staring down in bewilderment as she noticed he was breathing fine, thinking to herself incredulously as a sense of exasperation came over her, "Is he...is he taking a fucking nap? Where do I even begin with this idiot-...hm?"

Her ears perked up as she heard the sound of footsteps approaching in the distance, before she quickly grabbed Colt's shoulders and dragged him towards a nearby alley as fast as she could, pulling him into the narrow space just in time, as a group of Knights came into sight.

"This is the area where Junne said she fought one of those Irregulars, right?"

"Yeah, there's a trail of blood on the ground from her injuries, this is definitely the spot."

"Tch, he must have gotten away."

"Let's fan out and search the area, he might still be nearby."

Lexia took out her Teleport Spell and pointed it in the direction of the forest as she grabbed hold of Colt's wrist, before running her Mana into the Spell Card, teleporting the two of them out of the city.

"Hey, wake up...wake up, you dumbass!" She sighed in irritation, as she began slapping Colt harder and harder.

"Hm...? Wha'sh going on...? Ohh, heyyy, Lexshia! Fanshy sheeing you here!" He grinned with a loopy look on his face, his voice slurring heavily as he reached up and patted her cheek a couple of times.

"What're you-...?"

"Hehehe, you're sho cute...no, more like shexshy! Hmmmm...Shexshia! Or how about Shexshy Lexshy?" He laughed, drooling a bit from the slurring as he pulled on both her cheeks, before she smacked his hands away, a tingle of red across her face.

"S-stop that! Unbelievable...clearly, you're high out of your mind. You better have a good explanation for this once you sober up," She huffed, as she smacked his forehead in exasperation.

"Ow...you're sho mean. Heh, that'sh my favorite thing about you!"

"...maybe try avoiding words with 'S' until you sober up, okay, buddy?" She sighed as she patted his shoulder, feeling worn out, before glancing at him and muttering under her breath, "Idiot."
