Azur Lane: Savior

'...Where did everything go wrong?' The look of despair as he saw the fire burning engulfing the building.

'Why did it happened?' His eyes glanced at the tree that snapped in half above the shipgirl sitting beneath lifelessly, pummelling the poor girl on the floor.

'Is this the outcome they said? Even so, this is still too much...' He looked below, blood spurt out from his stomach that was stabbed by a long beam.

'What happened... To them?' The lifeless eyes turned to the scene over the horizon.

A dark mist slowly engulfing several ship as a roar was heard. The enemy that they were fighting, was too much for the poor boy. What considered a beautiful paradise slowly turned into a hellish landscape. Even Antiochus couldn't shook them off from the ferocious beast. Not once, anyone dare to back down without a fight. No matter what they did, it was useless against the black mist. 

'Fight until the last light has faded... Heh, what a foolish calling... i'm sorry everyone... i have failed in doing anything, even you... S▊▇ ▊▇ ▊."

His vision darkened as the boy slowly lost his consciousness. The last vision he sees was someone's hand reaching to him.

'...'

Greynar slowly opened his eyes. 'What was that...' He felt the ground trembling as time suddenly resumed again. 'Did i lost consciousness?'

"Commander! Thank god you're awake." Volga said holding his hand.

"Let's go quickly and evacuate the people!" Hornet said, hurrying him up.

"Yeah, let's go..." He got up with his lover's help.

The scene before him was the same hellish landscape where every building was caught on fire, but it was different from what he saw. As the Siren fleets aimed their weapon at the resort, Baltimore and other fleets crossedfire with them. The Commander was escorted to an underground below but he doesn't want to go there. Greynar then followed by Hornet and Volga to the outside of the building and immediately got into his command ship.

"Volga! Hornet! Prepare to intercept the enemy with your planes!" He shouted.

"Right, Commander!" Both said in unison.

After that, he changed his comms channel. "Victorious! Go evacuate other personel and make sure to locate the enemy's main fleet using your recon plane!" 

"Okay Commander! Leave it to me!" The Royal Navy girl immediately get straight into action.

Greynar stood a distance far from the battlefield as he controlled the situation from behind. Volga and Hornet exchanged attack with the enemy as soon they got inside the battlefield. The Commander noticed an incoming radio call from Baltimore and accepted it. 

"Commander, we've been caught off guard... They somehow managed to get through without being detected by the radar screen..." She continued while taking refuge behind one of the mass-produced ship. "The situation is looking very dire now. The entire Newport Harbor has gone up in flames, and we've lost most of our facilities."

"I know that, we need to take action right now! How many people are on your side?" Greynar asked.

She immediately answer with a sharp tone. "As of right now, we got around 34 fleets that can fight." 

He nodded. "Then it's good enough, i will send Hornet to your location, stay safe there, Baltimore."

"Thank you, Commander." They ended the call.

The situation wasn't looking good from the side, Greynar grew impatient of the incoming enemy fleets. The plan from Observer worked a bit too well considering they are sending more and more Siren fleets to Newport City. Thankfully there wasn't any casualities among the fiery building as they have evacuated to the underground. 

He turned to his partner. "Volga, think you can do it?" 

"No problem~" Her rigging roared as they opened their jaw wide. "Let's go, Comrades!" 

Dozen of planes launched from her rigging, she stood beside his ship to protect him from all side by placing some planes above him. A Siren fighter fired their gun to them but it was shot down by one of the anti-air gun she got after some modification was made. Her planes was significantly superior compared to the Sirens but it wasn't good enough to compete with the newer version of the mass-produced Siren.

"That's the newer model of Siren! Volga make your plane take evasive maneuver by diving below and scatter them around to confuse their aim." He ordered.

"On it!"

The planes that was flying through the sky suddenly dived as the anti-air gun fired. One of the fighter plane got shot down but it was soon replaced by another plane. They hold their formation steady and once they were at reachable height, they suddenly turned their nose to the side and released their bombs to the ship. The dive bomber especially managed to sunk some enemies even if they lost one of their wings and fall to the water.

After the succeed of the attack, the Siren fleets begin to change their target priority to Greynar that was commanding the ships. Volga noticed it and neutralized the weapon of the ships by using her snow crystal to freeze it. 

"Commander, it's not safe here. You must fall back." She told him in concern.

The Commander shook his head. "I can't do that, besides, i have you right here to defend me in case something gone wrong." 

"...Alright, then stay behind me as long as this battle goes." the carrier smiled. 

Greynar checked the position of other fleets on his radar, Baltimore and her fleets managed to sink the fleets that was coming through the portal created on the place far away from Newport City. Once Victorious done on evacuating, she joined the fight and targetted the main fleets using her torpedo bomber plane. Her staff shone as she rectify a word then aimed her staff at the main fleets in the back. A bright yellow spark appeared and her staff shoots a beam to the Siren fleet. Enchanted by the bright beam, her torpedo exploded underneath the Siren ship. The explosion was par as Bismarck's salvo barrage size when she was corrupted by the corrupted cube.

"Commander, i've located a Siren flagship near Baltimore." Hornet said to her radio device.

"Send me the location, we will go there as soon as we done here." Greynar replied to her.

She nodded. "Alright... i've sent the location." 

"Thanks, we will be right there, can you hold it off?" Explosion occurred on the background as he asked.

"Probably, a minute or more, can't tell how powerful the flagship is..." She said nonchalantly.

"I will ask Baltimore to assist you." After that, they ended their communication.

Turning back at the situation, Greynar gritted his teeth. 

"These fucking Sirens... Observer really gave us bunch of hard work to do." He muttered under his breath. Checking the area around him again, he noticed that someone coming to their direction at his south. "Victorious, is that you?" He opened his communication channel again.

"Yes, i've come to assist you!" The goddess-like carrier said.

He nodded silently, "Volga call back your planes!" Calling out his lover, she complied and recalled her planes.

"Thanks for giving me an opportunity to shine, Commander!" Victorious used his command ship as a stepping and jumped to the air. 

On midair, she aimed her rigging staff at the massive fleet and shoot out the bright yellow sparkling beam to the middle of the formation. In a second, the beam exploded and her planes appeared behind her to drop the bomb to the explosion. By using the beam explosion, it enhanced the bomb to be larger in radius and it exploded the Sirens in area.

"We're done here, let's go assist Hornet!" He gives command to them.

As they cleared out most part near edge of the city, they met with Baltimore who was on her way to Hornet's position. They agreed to go together and went to their ally location. Under a minute, they could see what it looks to be a massive fleets gathered that seems to be defending a ship behind them. 

Hornet with her planes was still fighting, exchanging firepower. "Not on my watch! Return to the depths you crawled out from you son of a—!!!"

"What good does yelling at a lifeless lump of metal do? Are you trying to blow off steam...?" Baltimore asked in unamused tone.

Hornet was relieved after she manage to register the unknown attacker to the Siren ship. "Commander! Baltimore!" 

"So, do you even need any help here?" The short-haired girl asked.

"Please do... I'm out of breath here!" She answered with a ragged breath.

"That's seems to be the case." The Commander chimed in while chuckling.

"Alright, let's deal with the flagship now!" Victorious cheered.

"Victorious, Baltimore aim for the fleets around it, Volga and Hornet use your planes to clean out the carriers on the backline." He commanded.

"Got it!" Everyone answered to his order.

Baltimore and Victorious began to dash, readying her turret, Baltimore begin her clean up of destroyers and cruiser around the fleets. They exchanged fire but it was easily dodged. Victorious, followed by her plane managed to clean out most of the fleet on the right side of the area. Baltimore jumped and kicked one of the ship then exploded it using her rigging. Skillfully giving the Siren ships hard time to aim properly. 

Volga's and Hornet's plane dived down after they reached an altitude where the anti-air gun couldn't reach. Volga used her giant crystal to freeze the carrier deck and make it so they couldn't launch their plane from it. As their planes reached the range of carrier, they begin to pull up and dropped the bomb. They turned back and took evasive maneuver from a Siren planes that was flying around it. Hornet's squadron assisted in baiting the Siren plane to follow her planes while Volga was the one who took down the plane. Switching and baiting until they secured the air position, after that they decided to finish the carrier fleet by using Victorious' massive explosion beam and called off their planes. 

"It's over, you are dead as a minced meat!" Hornet shouted to the flagship. 

"Everyone! Aim your weapon to that battleship!" Greynar ordered, the fleets aimed their rigging and turret to it. "Fire!"

The bombarding began. Volga's twin dragon let out a roar as they shoot their laser ice from their mouth freezing their weapon and destroyed their anti-air. Hornet used her dive bomber and torpedo bomber to do damage on the flagship's hull. Baltimore fired her rigging to the flagship weapon, disabling it entirely. And lastly Victorious used her staff to pierce the body of the ship, exploding it entirely.

"Huff... Huff... Is it over yet?" Hornet curiously asked.

The battlefield was unervingly silence. She took around at the burning fleets, it was finished.

"I think we've done it." the Commander scanned the entire area "No Siren in my radar." 

"Alright!" Baltimore grinned. "Once we rendezvous with the ships already stationed at NY Harbor, we will—" 

Before she could finish speaking, an announcement coming from Newport City could be heard miles away. An emergency siren has started to take over the entire area.

[Attention, all fleets nearby NY Harbor. This is an emergency.]

[NY Harbor is currently under siege by the Sirens' main force. The situation is extremely dire.]

[The defensive fleet is currently engaging the enemy, but cannot hold out for long. Destruction of the attacking Siren fleet and protecting NY Harbor are our top priorities. Requesting immediate aid from any nearby fleets.]

[Repeat: requesting immediate——] The unfinished announcement made everyone realize, their battle was not over yet.
