Chapter 431: Ring Of Chaos
A magnificent airship was flying at high speed across the sky toward the east. On the deck of the ship, a handsome young man stood with a fat bird perched on his shoulder, while behind him stood an attractive man a little older than him.
Daniel's eyes were fixed on the distance, though from time to time he glanced at the cities they passed.
It had been almost four hours since they had set off. They were originally supposed to use teleportation portals, but fortunately Andreas had given them an airship as a gift.
After all, they had plenty of airships, and giving one away didn't matter much to them, especially to someone like Daniel, who had done so much for them.
Daniel, of course, didn't refuse. How could he let go of such an amazing means of transportation? He wasn't stupid.
Now they were on their way to a border city called Gravehall. The name sounded strange, but according to Andreas's explanation, it was just a normal industrial city located on the edge of the continent.
This city was under the control of a kingdom called the Kingdom of Valymore, an industrial kingdom known as some of the best weapon smiths.
According to Andreas's research, there was a teleportation portal there that led to the continent of Veldrikas — a continent covered entirely in forests and home to dragons, elves, phoenixes, and other powerful races.
"That girl still hasn't come out of her room?" Daniel turned and looked at Rynor.
"No, my lord."
"Ah, maybe I should talk to her." He sighed and turned his eyes back to the horizon. Since last night, Ilaris had become withdrawn, speaking barely a few words, even with him.
He had even asked Andreas how their conversation had gone, and Andreas had looked like he was about to cry. Clearly, it hadn't gone well.
At first, Daniel thought Ilaris had rejected Andreas's feelings, but it turned out that wasn't the case. She hadn't accepted them, but she hadn't rejected them either.
It seemed more like she wasn't ready for a relationship yet, and she had even told Andreas that directly. Her other concern was about the future — not just his, but hers as well.
The girl was heading to the land of the elves. No one knew what might happen in the future, and that was why Ilaris preferred to wait.
She had even told Andreas this: that when they met again in the future, she would give him her clear answer regarding his romantic feelings for her.
Daniel didn't interfere too much. After all, it wasn't his business, and he preferred to stay away from such matters.
As for Andreas… well, even though he was a little down, it wasn't serious. Daniel figured he'd be fine within a day.
"How much longer until we reach our destination?" Daniel tossed a map toward Rynor and asked.
Rynor opened the map and looked at it. The strange thing was that their location was actually shown live on the map — it worked just like a navigation app from Daniel's old world.
"About two more hours until we arrive."
"Good." Daniel nodded, then went back into the ship to his room.
Fino quietly hopped onto the bed, stretched out its wings, and slowly closed its eyes to rest.
Daniel glanced at it and frowned. This baby dragon had been sleeping a lot lately.
Could it be because it was growing so fast that it was always tired? Unfortunately, information about dragons was very limited, and even he didn't know much.
He turned his gaze away and pulled out a ring from his inventory and looked at it.
[ Name: Ring of Chaos ]
[ Rank: SSS ]
[ Description: Source of the Law of Chaos, a fragment of the axe that opened the Primordial Chaos ]
Daniel stared at the description of the ring he had gotten from Aden. His eyebrows rose in surprise when he saw its rank, but the moment he read the description, his expression changed completely.
The explanation was only a few words long, but those words were enough to drastically change his face.
He hadn't expected this ring to be a source — and not just any source, but the source of the Law of Chaos! The Law of Chaos was one of the rarest and most unique laws in existence.
In fact, many believed the Law of Chaos to be even stronger than the Seven Supreme Laws themselves, because according to legend, the universe had been formed from chaos.
In other words, chaos was the essence of creation itself. Even creation was born from chaos.
Still, that was only a theory, with no evidence to prove it. After all, no one had ever witnessed the birth of the cosmos with their own eyes.
And regarding the Law of Chaos, he had never even heard of anyone who had cultivated it. After all, there were no known sources for it.
It could even be said to be rarer than the Law of Origin. Of course, there were people who cultivated weaker versions of the Law of Chaos, called the Lesser Chaos Law.
To cultivate that, they used chaos crystals or anything infused with the essence of chaos. Even though it was a weaker form of the Law of Chaos, it was still stronger than almost all other laws, standing just below the Supreme Laws.
But the true Law of Chaos? If the legends and theories were correct, then it was far stronger than even the Supreme Laws.
He had learned all this from the Lionheart library. Last night, with some free time and not wanting to disturb Ilaris and Andreas, he had gone there to research the essence of chaos and found a wealth of information.
Now he also understood why Mornak had been willing to protect Aden and even give him a place to stay. Most likely, the assassination attempts on Aden had all been because of this ring.
Still, there were things he couldn't understand, like why a father would want to kill his own son. Even if he wanted the ring, couldn't he just take it by force?
Clearly, there were many secrets behind it all.
"But still, how did Aden even get this ring? And the axe that opened the Primordial Chaos… what is that?"
