Chapter 38 : Angels of Death
Nash learned the new [Open Sesame] skill and took all the copper coins inside the box.
After that, he headed over to the entrance of the [Fiery Marsh] dungeon and then logged out to go and get some rest.
He did this to avoid being ambushed again by any of the players who were after him or unknown foes.
When a player logs into Apex Online, the player appears at the location he logged out from and for the sake of playing it safe, Nash knew that if he logged in, he would appear at the entrance of the [Fiery Marsh].
Such a location ensures that a number of people are present and also reduces the probability of him being ambushed when compared to when he is alone.
It was not an absolute guarantee though, but it does help with his situation.

*Ding*
Novice village, respawn spot.
Killing Cobra had appeared again after restoring his character and entering the game.
He sat on the ground of the respawn location with a defeated look that twisted with anger after a couple of minutes.
As he sat then, players respawn around him as well from time to time but Killing Cobra paid them no attention.
Only one thing was on his mind, rather a single name.
"Neon."
Killing Cobra clenched his fists as veins lined his face.
He was furious and vengeful, seeking his pound of flesh from Nash, who had killed him twice.
After their last encounter, Killing Cobra understood the gap between him and Nash.
He was no match for the assassin class player, and he knew it now despite all the front he pulled to threaten Nash.
Killing Cobra knew that he had no actions to back his words and that was why Nash easily called his bluff.
Killing Cobra was terribly mad at Nash.
With a second death at Nash's hands, he was back down to being a level 1 player.
All his effort to climb the ladder was flushed down the drain, and yet, Killing Cobra was not going to rest until he got his revenge on Nash.
"I will need help if I want this to work," he muttered to himself, lost in deep thoughts.
"I will have to join a guild and gather comrades. At least, there are only so many people he can fight at the same time. That is when I will strike".
Killing Cobra's lips curled into a devilish smile.
He already cooked up a plan after so much thinking, a plan that was sure to make Nash fidget once he heard about it. At least that was Killing Cobra's expectation.
"I have to join those guys…"
He already knew a guild to join, one so dangerous that they were regarded as absolute killers in Nash's past life.
"The Angels of Death."
The Angels of Death were among the top ten strongest guild in Nash's past life and the incredible thing about them was that it was a guild of assassin class players.
They were experts in killing and espionage and to become a member was no easy task on its own.
The tests for new aspiring members were dangerous and this made them have the least number of guild members when compared to other top guilds.
Despite their lapses in manpower, the Angels of Death had managed to cement their name as one of the top ten guilds, and this was a testament to the power they possessed in Nash's past life.
Killing Cobra knew about this dangerous guild.
Of course, they were still starting up but their viciousness was growing fast.
For them, it was not just about them killing a player and the player dropping a level.
They were hunters, who were hellbent on frustrating their targets.
Killing Cobra's plan was to join the Angels of Death and use their power to handle his issues with Nash.

Nash went to classes the next day, showing little to no interest in what the topics had to offer.
A glance at him during this classes was more than enough to tell you that he had really made up his mind to drop out and was not in the mood to study anymore.
He returned that same evening, exhausted.
He had his bath and ate dinner before doing the next best thing in his life right now, and that was to log into Apex Online.
*Ding*
The game opened with a ding and Nash appeared at the entrance of the [Fiery Marsh] dungeon.
He quickly glossed over his friends list and saw that LadyFlame was online.
Nash then shot her a quick in-game text, following up to their conversation the previous day.
[NEON: Hey, how is the hunt for the wolves going?]
LadyFlame received and read the message immediately.
[LadyFlame is typing…]
Nash waited for several seconds and yet LadyFlame had not dropped a reply despite typing.
Seconds turned to minutes and he became impatient.
[NEON: ???]
Once again, LadyFlame read it immediately. However, this time around, she replied to him immediately after.
[LADYFLAME: Let's meet and talk in person]
Nash almost pulled his hand into the chat to drag her out but he couldn't do that.
"Keeping me in suspense, huh? Tch!"
Nash received her location and ended the chat.
'If you're going to keep me waiting for the info, it better be good,' Nash thought as he walked to the village to meet up with his teammate.

Nash finally met up with her as they sat opposite each other in a setting that was similar to a medieval pub.
LadyFlame was staring at Nash with wide, bubbly eyes while the latter rolled his eyes, his impatience growing by the second.
"So how was your hunt?"
LadyFlame smiled generously. "Guess how many wolves we managed to slay."
"We?" Nash muttered.
LadyFlame nodded. "Yes! The fire mages you help through the dungeon decided to help me as a way of paying me back for introducing them to you."
"Hmm," Nash hummed as he crossed his arms over his chest. "Interesting."
"So guess!"
"500?" Nash answered.
LadyFlame shook her head.
"Hmm. 200?"
*Bang*
LadyFlame slammed the table. "No! Of course, it's even way higher than your first guess."
Nash sighed and tried to calm her down. "Calm down. Calm down, Lady. 1000?"
"Forget it. I will just spit it out," she said.
'Better,' Nash retorted internally.
"15,000 and counting!"
Nash nearly tripped over his chair. "What?!!! 15-what?!"
