Assassin God: Rise of the Strongest Player

Chapter 36 : Nash’s Offer

Nash and LadyFlame spent their entire gaming there leading people through [Fiery Marsh] and making some coins for their team.

When they were done, they both returned to the novice village and sold off the junk item drops that they gathered from their raids, using some of the coins earned to buy supplies that they would need.

"We were able to get some enhancement wheels for fire resistance,' LadyFlame said as they walked. "Shouldn't we increase the difficulty of the dungeon? The harder it is, the better the rewards. What do you think?"

Nash did not quite buy the idea.

The fire resistance enhancement was definitely a good item since it would boost a player's fire resistance to 10 points, but Nash was indecisive about LadyFlame's suggestion.

The drops may be more or even very good by a longshot but so also would the difficulty in defeating the final boss of the dungeon.

Nash shook his head, disagreeing with LadyFlame. "As much as it's good to know that we can get our hands on rare and unique quality items, it's impossible for the two of us to clear anything outside the current difficulty mode. We still do not have a complete team, you know."

LadyFlame nodded frantically, immediately understanding Nash's point.

"Yes! We still need a warrior type player for defense and tanking and a healer."

"We already have a healer," he said. "Eileen. Just a tank type players and enough numbers and finding a tank type is not as easy."

"Yeah. You do have a point there," LadyFlame concurred with her team leader's reasoning.

"Hey, Lady."

LadyFlame stopped and turned to him. "What's up?"

"Are you a full time gamer? Like a professional player?"

LadyFlame blinked. She had never mentioned anything related to being a professional player, so she wondered what fuelled Nash's assertion.

"Just that you mentioned scouting players since morning. It got me wondering if you're a professional player or something of sort," Nash added.

"Kinda…" LadyFlame answered, feeling embarrassed afterwards. "But without your help I'm only able to kill the wild wolves at Lycan Hills and the progress from that is really pitiful though."

LadyFlame expressed her frustration with a sigh, making Nash laugh lightly.

"That's good. How many wolf liver were you able to gather. Have you sold everything for coins?"

Nash's face brightened as this meant that he could get a lot of wolf liver from LadyFlame to make his life potions.

LadyFlame scratched her cheek, confused.

'It's been two days since he started this wolf liver thing. Could it be that he is yet to complete that quest?' she thought.

"You still need the liver for something?" she finally asked.

Nash nodded and revealed a low life potion vial to her. "Yes. For this."

He raised it for her to see clearly.

"I need the wolf liver to be able to make this life tonic."

"A recovery potion?"

Nash nodded his head again, agreeing with LadyFlame's guess. "Yes. A good one. You can recover 100 HP instantly with this."

"100 HP in an instant?!!"

LadyFlame was dumbfounded. She had never heard of such.

She knew there were life potions that gave HP every second but not one that boosted HP by 100 in an instant. That was a cheat item if a player had enough!

Little did she know that this was only possible because Nash was able to refine already existing low life potions of the calibre that she knew about.

"This can easily sell for at least 1000 copper coins per vial!"

Hearing LadyFlame fawn over the life potion, Nash was intrigued at how sharply she could think up a business path for anything.

It felt as though it was a natural gift to her.

Nash smiled. "You know what, Lady?"

"What's that?"

"Let's strike a deal," Nash proposed. "Tomorrow, when you go for your wolf hunting, keep all the wolf liver you can find. I will lending a lot of them, and I mean a whole lot. When I return, I will make the instant life potions and we can sell them, sharing the profits at 90:10 between us."

LadyFlame frowned immediately. "90:10? Nope. 50:50"

Nash shook his head. "That won't work."

"Then let's do 60% for you, 40% for me."

Nash sighed and extended his hand for a shake. "The best I can give you is 30% of the profit."

LadyFlame considered it for a bit and finally realised that Nash might have enlisted her simply because it was convenient for him, and not because he couldn't hunt wild wolves.

For someone as strong as he was, that was a simple task for Nash.

LadyFlame might have tried to show her sharpness when it came to money but deep down, she was immensely happy that she managed to get 30% of the profit.

That was about 300 copper coins per bottle solder if Nash sells it at 1000 coins!

Of course, she was not going to let such an offer pass her by.

"Do you really trust me?" LadyFlame asked.

Nash was surprised by the question.

"Yes. Do you really trust me to sell them without betraying you?"

"Hahaha!" Nash laughed out. "Then I would be disappointed that you don't have as much foresight as I thought you did. Only sticking around for short time returns in such a business with this much potential… tsk, then you are certainly an idiot to do that."

Nash's words hit LadyFlame like a hammer, making her admire him even more for being blunt about his opinion.

'Really a waste that he's not a professional,' LadyFlame thought as she looked at Nash. 'Someone like him would definitely make it to the top if he was.'

What she did not know was that Nash had already set his plan for becoming a professional player in motion.

Nash and LadyFlame went on to spend some more time together when the latter finally decided to go off.

"I will be going off now," she said. "It's getting late."

"No problem. I will be seeing you then."

"Of course," LadyFlame replied and laughed before logging off.

Nash straightened his face and headed to the location where the gift box is. He had missed the chance of getting it for a few days now because he was always late to get there.

But now that it was midnight, signifying the start of a new day, he would be among the first to have a chance at getting the new gift box for the day.

Nash went about his person, oblivious of the presence that lurked around him from a distance.

"You won't be lucky this time…"
