Ashen Dragon

Chapter 337: Above the Rift Valley

"Nicely done."

It turns out the frontline engineers had already set explosives on the stone bridge, waiting to detonate it when the enemies were at their peak, causing maximum damage to the Dragon Worship Church.

After the collapse of the stone bridge, everything started anew, and the legion of the Dragon Worship Church was still under heavy bombardment from the Empire, trapped for the moment.

But just then, the Spellcasters from the Dragon Worship Church finally stepped forward. They raised their Magic Wands, chanting Spells, and pure Force Field Energy appeared mid-air, forming towering, translucent bridges.

Unless using high-tier spells like Disintegrate, these force field walls are nearly impervious to physical impacts.

With these bridges built from force fields, under the high chants of the Evil Dragon Sacrifice, Blue Dragon Descendants and Cultists surged onto the bridges time and again, launching charges toward the opposite side of Rock Rift Valley.

During the charge, countless Evil Dragon Descendants and Cultists fell into The Abyss, plummeting to the valley bottom.

In the depths of the rift valley, bodies piled up densely, shocking to behold. Their tragic deaths often resulted from being riddled with bullets before being smashed into a blur.

Jude furiously raised the Dragonhead Scepter, as the dark clouds above rapidly spread, enveloping the skies above the Allied Forces, and lightning struck down fiercely, instantly destroying several Imperial firepower points.

Finally, at the cost of countless lives, the vanguard of the Dragon Worship Church — dozens of towering, robust Blue Dragon Descendant Godslayers — reached the north shore of the rift. They roared thunderously, waving electrified long swords, and charged at the Imperial soldiers with a series of crackling sounds.

"Boom!"

Sparks flew everywhere, and the sandbag bunkers were slashed in two, while the Imperial soldiers operating the machine guns behind them lost their lives, becoming scorched remains.

In less than a few minutes, the Blue Dragon Descendant Godslayers shattered the Empire's frontline machine gun positions with unstoppable force. Large numbers of Blue Dragon Descendants and Cultists surged like a tide, quickly occupying the north shore, swallowing the frontline Imperial soldiers within.

Seeing this scene, Adrian raised his Longsword high, and the sword released dazzling golden light that immediately pierced through several Evil Dragon Descendants.

"Citizens of Seleucis, people of Amanata, come with me! We must reclaim our homeland with our own hands and drive these filthy Monsters from the land basked in sunlight!"

Behind him, Seleucis' most elite Paladins and warriors, dressed in shining silver armor, raised their weapons in anger and charged towards the fierce, detestable Dragon Blood Monsters.

"Swish—"

Adrian swung his Longsword, and a golden Light Blade flew out, cleaving a large Storm Lizard in half, causing it to emit a dull, electrified whine.

But around him, several Blue Dragon Descendant Ambushers had encircled him, snarling as they lunged at the Paladin from various directions, intending to tear him into Shards.

Yet Adrian remained cold-eyed, suddenly spinning, the Longsword slicing through the air with graceful arcs, its Light Blades storming through the air, cutting apart the Blue Dragon Descendant Ambushers, as countless flesh Shards flew around.

But one Blue Dragon Descendant Ambusher luckily survived, slipping through the gaps of those Light Blades, continuing to charge at Adrian's back.

"Your Grace, watch out!"

An Arrow with a faint glow shot through the air, piercing that Monster's skull, warm blood, brain matter, and Arrow exploding out the other side of the head.

The one who shot the Arrow was a middle-aged man not far away, clad in blood-stained Leather Armor, his rugged face weathered, with a fierce scar across it — a mark left by a Dragon Claw.

His name is Liam Peyton, an Archer Warrior from a small town in Southern Seleucid. Years ago, a young Red Dragon destroyed his hometown, burning his family to death. He fought desperately and pierced the Red Dragon's heart with an Arrow.

Since then, Liam has hidden and roamed everywhere, devising meticulous plans throughout Seleucis, hunting down those evil giant dragons and Dragonborn, earning the title of "Secret Dragon Hunter," with a high bounty placed on him by the Dragon Worship Church.

Now he stands here, seeking revenge on these giant dragons who view humans as slaves and ants.

"Damn human, I recognize you!" From afar, an Evil Dragon Sacrifice glared at Liam with hatred, brandishing a Scepter, a lightning bolt erupted forth.

But Liam was calm, leaping high to dodge the lightning strike, then swiftly nocking, drawing, and aiming an arrow mid-air, his actions smooth and in one go.

"Swish—"

Accompanied by the howling wind, the Arrow tore open a blood hole in the forehead of the semi-human, semi-dragon's cranium, causing it to abruptly fall backward.

"Pitiful human traitor." Liam watched coldly as the Evil Dragon Sacrifice plummeted into the rift.

But just then, from the sky came a low, anger-repressed roar, a massive, grotesque shadow enveloped the Archer Warrior: "It's you! That audacious ant!"

Upon hearing the familiar voice, Liam looked up, seeing a Black Dragon roaring as it swooped down towards him, its right eye blind, oozing festering pus.

"So it's you..."

Liam gazed piercingly at the Black Dragon, his muscles tense, his palm clenching the bow slightly sweaty.
