Ascension of Chaos

B2 | Chapter 44

After finally coming to a decision, I nod my head with more than a little satisfaction visible on my face. Then I go ahead and purchase all of the skills and pull up their descriptions one after another.

And those aren't the only ones I pull up as I also pull up the new skills I got from the Planetary Official System Event. Or rather, the ones I think will be very useful to me.

{Queen's Affinity – UNIQUE SKILL – This skill increases the ease in which the Queen can control destruction mana by 20%.}

{Queen's Warpath – UNIQUE SKILL – Upon use, the user enters a berserk state, significantly increasing their physical prowess as their body gradually begins to fall apart.}

{Queen's Destruction Mana Conversion – UNIQUE SKILL – This skill changes the mana conversion rate between natural mana to destruction mana to 0.9 units of natural mana for every 1 unit of destruction mana.}

{Mid-Stage Lightning Mana Manipulation – This skill grants the user the ability to turn their natural mana into lightning mana and use the mana to perform lightning magic spells.}

{Mid-Stage Blood Mana Manipulation – This skill grants the user the ability to turn their natural mana into blood mana and use the mana to perform blood magic spells.}

{Basic Runesmithing – This skill grants the user the ability to turn their natural mana into liquid form and engrave it into objects in the form of runes.}

{Low Grade Soul Mana Manipulation – This skill grants the user the ability to turn their natural mana into soul mana and use the mana to perform soul magic spells.}

{Shadow Veil – This skill allows the user to draw a veil of shadows covering a radius of five meters around themselves.}

{High Fire Resistance – Grants the user a High resistance to fire. All fire that makes contact with the user's body will be resisted based on the level of this skill.}

{Soul Shot – This skill shoots out an energy blast made of soul mana that will directly attack a target's soul.}

{Mid-Stage Starlight Mana Manipulation – This skill grants the user the ability to turn their natural mana into starlight mana and use the mana to perform starlight magic spells.}

{Hunger Maw – This skill allows the user to store up extra energy through eating substances and draining the energy out of them to fill the reserves. That energy may then be used to attack or refill the user's own mana or energy.}

{Kill Streak – This skill increases the user's dealt damage by 0.1% with every consecutive kill they make within three minutes of their last kill.}

{Nature's Kill – This skill drains the user's mana in order to drive nature around the user wild, forcing anything considered part of nature to slowly wither while going berserk and attacking everything in sight.}

{Mid-Stage Temperance Mana Manipulation – This skill grants the user the ability to turn their natural mana into temperance mana and use the mana to perform temperance magic spells.}

{Nightmare – This skill allows the user to force another user they target to fall asleep. The target will then experience their worst nightmare while in their sleep and will continue sleeping for a length of time depending on the skill's level and the target's willpower.}

{Expanded Energy Reserves – This skill increases the maximum energy capacity of the user by 2%.}

{Mana Purity – This skill increases the purity of the user's mana, allowing greater efficiency with its use.}

{Mage's Exchange – This skill allows the user to exchange a single unit of health in order to convert one unit of mana into one and a half units of an affinity type mana.}

{Blood Mana – This skill automatically converts 0.01% of damage taken into blood mana based on how many units of health it requires to regenerate the damage.}

{Mana Overdrive – This skill allows the user to hold more mana than their capacity should be able to hold at the price of the mana in their body going wild and damaging the user when they are over their capacity.}

Overall, it's a very nice setup of skills. And this isn't even all of them, seeing as I'm pretty sure I've lost several of them at this point.

Which is slightly irritating, but there's not much I can do about how massive my list of Skill Trees is getting.

I also ended up getting another energy related Queen of Destruction Unique Skill. One more Unique Skill than I planned. Specifically because it happened to be the type of skill I'm currently looking for.

Along with the five skills at the end of the long list of useful skills. All of which are related to my energy and mana reserves.

My only major weakness right now.

Other than mental defense. But I probably won't find the mental destruction resistance skill until later on in the miscellaneous branch of the Unique Skill Tree. That or the defense branch.

And I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up splitting off at some point with those two being different ends of the branch or something like that.

Physical Destruction Immunity and Mental Destruction Immunity.

Having both of those would pretty much make me nearly indestructible. With my only weakness being soul damage, or just me going insane and wanting to kill myself for some reason. Which I can't really see happening.

It's too bad Chaos thinks those two won't be until the very end of the Unique Skill Tree.

Even if that's understandable.

It'll be a while before I get them.

As for the other skill I got from the people I killed in the Planetary Official System Event? The most notable of them are the Runesmithing, soul magic, blood magic, Kill Streak, and Hunger Maw skills. With Shadow Veil and Soul Shot being rather useful as well.

Runesmithing will let me improve my gear personally if I can learn how to do it well, meanwhile soul magic and Soul Shot both give me new ways to attack enemies. Through targeting their souls directly.

Shadow Veil lets me fill the area around me with shadows, which lets me use my shadow teleportation skill to teleport around in that area. So that alone makes the skill useful thanks to that combination.

Blood magic will also be useful if I can figure out how to control the blood in my wings. Since throwing around bullets of Chaos's blood sounds like a very good way to attack.

And Kill Streak and Hunger Maw are pretty self-explanatory.

Kill Streak will help a lot since I always have a lot of consecutive kills. So my overall damage will continue to rise at a rapid pace even with the damage increase being temporary.

And Hunger Maw will help with my energy and mana reserves problem. Even if I have to eat a lot to deal with it.

The bright side is that I can eat things like mana crystals, which are usually used for item crafting. Thanks to my skills that let me eat normally inedible things.

I stretch before lying flat on my back on my bed and staring up at the ceiling.

So many skills. And even more that I can't keep track of.

It almost makes me wish I had a moderator or something to look through the skills for me and decide if there are actually harmful skills amongst them that I should get rid of. Because there are just too many.

And the number of skills and Skill Trees will only keep growing as well.

I let out a sigh before closing my eyes.

Well, at least I made some progress in dealing with my energy reserves problem. Especially with that conversion skill from my Unique Skill Tree.

After all, now I get an actual increase in mana when I convert mana from regular mana to destruction mana. Giving me more destruction mana than the amount of natural mana I used to make it.

Of course, it's not a permanent fix to the problem. And enemies higher level than me will always end up with more mana and energy.

Especially when they're a significant number of levels higher than me. To the point of hundreds or even thousands of levels higher than me.

I continue lying flat on my back for a little while longer before letting out another sigh and beginning to fall asleep.

Because I really want a break after navigating through all those Skill Trees.
