Chapter 62
Chapter 62: Recruitment
Fang Jian picked up the document and furrowed his brow briefly. He knew that someone with influence behind Captain Zhang had intervened, but it seemed rather excessive. Although Fang Jian wasn’t a law student, he understood that bail typically required a bail bond. Given the seriousness of his Master’s case, the bail amount would undoubtedly be substantial. However, this document didn’t mention “bail bond” anywhere.
In other words, a certain organization was vouching for Fang Jian based on its reputation, and the influence of this organization was so significant that no one dared to question it. Despite knowing their good intentions, Fang Jian couldn’t ignore the established rules.
Setting down the guarantee document, Fang Jian smiled and inquired, “Captain Zhang, why isn’t the bail bond mentioned in this document?”
Captain Zhang remained expressionless and replied, “Mr. Fang, we trust you, so there’s no need for a bail bond.”
This action deviated from the norm, but Captain Zhang’s words carried a convincing authority.
On the side, Lawyer Chen’s lips trembled slightly. The substantial information implied in that sentence made him uneasy. However, Fang Jian smiled faintly and said, “That wouldn’t be appropriate. How about this? I’ll contribute some bail money instead.”
He turned to Wang Huan and asked, “Master, how much did you send over?”
Wang Huan replied somewhat embarrassed, “10.4 million RMB.”
“Okay, then I’ll pay a bail bond of 10.4 million RMB,” Fang Jian stood up and said, “Captain Zhang, please lead the way.”
Whoosh! Suddenly, everyone in the conference room couldn’t help but look at Fang Jian. Their eyes were filled with a strange glimmer of curiosity and intrigue.
Wang Hui couldn’t fathom how his apprentice had turned into a wealthy person who could casually offer large sums of money without hesitation. Wang Meng and the others were even more excited, their emotions almost out of control.
Although Liu Ruoxi had mentioned that Fang Jian was willing to lend money, few people believed it. But now, they finally believed it. They had encountered a benefactor.
Only Lawyer Chen took a slight step back at this moment. He finally confirmed that the person before him was not only highly skilled but also an influential and wealthy individual.
He regretted his initially unfriendly attitude towards Fang Jian. Captain Zhang silently observed Fang Jian for a while, then stood up, giving him a thumbs-up before leading him out.
While Captain Zhang might not know Fang Jian’s background, he knew the influential organization vouching for him. Initially, Fang Jian could have taken the person away without spending a penny. Still, he chose to pay over a million yuan as bail, refusing to take advantage of the situation. This magnanimity alone earned him respect.
As they were about to reach home, Wang Huan suddenly asked, “Fang Jian, did you drive here with an out-of-town license plate?” Fang Jian realized his oversight regarding the city’s license plate restrictions.
Wang Huan sighed and said, “Fang Jian, thank you for this time.” He paused for a moment and continued, “The bail money this time, I borrowed it for you. Don’t worry, I will repay it as soon as possible…”
“Hey, Master,” Fang Jian waved and smiled, “You taught me for two years, and we can be considered fate. When you left, you passed on your connections to me.” Fang Jian’s expression turned serious, “Let’s talk about the money later.”
Wang Huan remained silent for a moment and let out a sigh. He couldn’t bear to sell his house to repay the borrowed money. Fang Jian asked, “Master, what are your plans for the future?”
Wang Huan said, “I plan to switch careers, see which line of work might be more suitable for me, and then try it.”
Fang Jian suggested, “Master, I have a position that might suit you. How about giving it a try?”
Wang Huan was curious, “What kind of position?”
“It’s a job where the employer needs someone to buy things, most likely requiring worldwide travel to find them,” Fang Jian explained. “You remember Babbly, right? He’s currently helping me with this. But it’s best to find someone trustworthy for this kind of thing…”
Wang Huan looked at Fang Jian and said, “Okay, Fang Jian, I no longer have the qualification or courage to refuse. Thank you.”
