A moment later, the light faded.

The entire building of the Advanced Education Bureau had vanished without a trace, leaving only a massive crater like something had smashed down from the sky.

"Heh heh, hahahahaha!" Standing at the bottom of the crater, Kihara Gensei laughed wildly, his face full of arrogance. "This is power! My power! A god's power!"

Bzzzzzz.

Right then, a convoy of armed trucks raced toward the scene, circling around the crater to surround Kihara Gensei.

Hundreds of armed security officers jumped out of the trucks and aimed their guns at Kihara Gensei.

Besides the security forces, the group ITEM led by Mugino Shizuri, and the Academy organization led by Kakine Teitoku, were also present.

"What the hell happened here?" Mugino Shizuri's eyes widened. "This was supposed to be the location of the Advanced Education Bureau, wasn't it?"

"Hmph, looks like we've got a real monster this time," Kakine Teitoku muttered, smirking coldly. "No wonder they called us in."

"Oh, looks like the Chairman's pretty quick to act," Kihara Gensei chuckled as he looked at the crowd surrounding him. "Too bad you're late." His body floated up into the air.

"Target locked. Open fire!" The security team leader gave the order as soon as he saw Kihara move.

The guns flared, and a storm of yellow bullets shot toward Kihara Gensei.

Hmph.

Kihara didn't dodge. He just curled his lips into a smirk. Then something strange happened—the bullets stopped in mid-air, frozen right around him.

What?

Everyone watching was shocked, their pupils tightening in disbelief.

"Well, let me give them back," Kihara Gensei said, raising his left index finger and tapping lightly.

Zing zing zing.

The bullets spun around and, under the stunned gaze of the crowd, flew right back toward Kakine Teitoku and the security officers.

Clang, clang.

A black shield appeared in front of Kakine Teitoku, blocking all the bullets. Taking the chance, Mugino Shizuri fired a Meltdowner blast at Kihara Gensei.

Buzz.

A beam of dark green light tore through the air, carrying the power to destroy everything.

"Hmph, tricks like that won't work on me."

Kihara Gensei casually raised his right hand and swiped at the air. The Meltdowner blast shattered instantly. He sneered and said, "Is that all you've got?"

"Who the hell are you?" Mugino Shizuri frowned, her face serious.

She had just realized that the way he stopped her Meltdowner attack was using the same type of ability as hers. That flipped her understanding upside down. Since when did Academy City have another Meltdowner user?

And there was no doubt he had other powers too—he could fly, after all.

"I am the old Kihara Gensei."

He was using a young man's face but called himself "old." Kihara Gensei did this on purpose—to show the world that he, the old man, had been reborn.

"What? That's impossible!" Kakine Teitoku's eyes went wide in disbelief.

As a direct subordinate of the Board of Directors, he obviously knew who Kihara Gensei was.

That mad old scientist with a wrinkled face—how did he turn into a good-looking young guy?

"You think it's impossible because you've never seen a miracle." Gensei gave him a scornful look. "But my very existence is a miracle!"

Kakine Teitoku froze for a second, like something had clicked in his mind. He looked up and frowned. "If that's true, then why are you doing all this?"

He knew Kihara Gensei's status in Academy City—it wasn't far off from the directors themselves.

If he had already made himself young again and gained powers like that, why go around causing chaos?

"Of course I want to rule." Gensei smiled, the corners of his mouth curling up. "Isn't it natural for gods to rule over people?"

"Your goal is the chairman?" Kakine got the picture, looking shocked.

"The chairman is just the beginning." Gensei wore a proud grin, his tone full of arrogance. "Alright, I'm done playing with you kids. It's time for you to disappear."

He raised his hand, and a ball of white light began to form.

Crack!

The moment the white light appeared, Kakine Teitoku sensed danger. He quickly used Dark Matter to create a powerful shield in front of him.

But the next moment—

Both the shield and Kakine himself were swallowed up by the white light.

It was like he had never been there at all.

His presence was wiped clean from the world.

Gulp.

Seeing this, Mugino Shizuri swallowed hard and stiffly looked up.

In her view, another ball of white light had already formed in Kihara Gensei's palm.
