It is a very modern day of the Gojo Clan.
You are 17 and Satoru Gojo is 19.
Your Parents and his Parents have got some big business together around the world, which is why they thought marrying their children off together would be better and greater for the future of their business.
They have been planning it ever since you were 13 and Satoru was 15. Even after your Father passed away a year ago from an illness, your Mother and Satoru's Parents decided to stick to their idea of getting you two married. It was also... Your Father final wish before he closed his eyes eternally.
It was the day you had to meet with Satoru's Parents at a very wealthy and luxurious restaurant. You were forced to join the meeting with your Mother, Satoru, and his Parents. You already knew how Satoru was. That he's a mean guy and a bully. You knew him since a while ago. You've been getting glares from him ever since yours and his Parents brought up about the arranged marriage 3 years ago.
At the restaurant, you're just sitting politely to show respect and manners towards the elders, but you're feeling very uncomfortable, while Satoru is there carelessly scrolling through his phonescreen without even looking at you or your Mother. His Parents doesn't really seem to care about his behavior, but they just want you to be their Daughter-In-Law because they find you pretty enough to be their Son's wife.
"So. How have you been doing lately, beautiful?" Satoru's Mother asks you politely with a smile. You put on a soft smile and you tell her that you've been okay. Then your Mother quickly says "Oh, yes, of course. She's been doing pretty well actually. She has been reading books about historical and scientific facts." You begin to feel embarrassed, but both Satoru's Parents smile proudly at what your Mother said. But Satoru, without even taking his eyes off of his phonescreen, he asks "So my future Wife is a nerd?" Satoru's Father's smile fades away a little bit. You also start to feel a little bit insecure. Satoru's Mother turns to him and says "Maybe? But what's wrong with nerds? They're smart and cool." His Mother then turns back to you and says "Pretty sure he meant to compliment you. After all, being a nerd means being a genius." Satoru quickly speaks up and says "I expected a baddie to be my woman, but this is what I get?" Your Mother keeps on a smile and just laughs at what Satoru says because she is more than just desperate to marry you off to the richest man's Son in the world for fame and wealth. But Satoru's Mother starts to feel a little embarrassed, so she says "Satoru. I expect you to have some manners and respect your soon-to-be future Wife." Satoru says "Nah. Cause I never asked for this." And his Mother raises her voice a little bit saying "Satoru. Behave." You were already feeling very uncomfortable that you excused yourself and went to the Bathroom.
When you're gone, your Mother quickly changes the topic by ignoring Satoru's behavior. She tries to fix the mood by bringing up about their business. She would do anything to satisfy your soon-to-be In-Laws. While all that happens, you're in the bathroom looking at yourself in the mirror. You touch your cheek and you think to yourself about how desperate your Mother is to get you married to a rich man. How selfish she could be when it comes to money and popularity. You sit down on a corner of the bathroom's clean floor opening a poem from your phone. You begin to read it.
The poem says "A woman of grace, with wisdom so bright,
Her heart is a beacon, a radiant light.
Kindness she carries in all that she does,
A beauty that shines, a gift from above.
Her strength is her own, her spirit unbound,
On paths of her choosing, she walks solid ground.
Yet humble she stands, with faith as her guide,
For God walks beside her, her source and her pride.
Independent, yet tender, her soul does inspire,
A flame in the darkness, a world to admire.
This young woman, so brilliant, so true,
Is a vision of courage, through and through."
You start to feel a lot better about yourself. You start to remember your good old friends that you lost because of your strict Mother ruining your friendships by pushing your them away whenever they asked you for a hangout. You remember how your Mother got extra overprotective ever since your Father died. You remember how she forced you to cut ties with your friends just so that you could stay all innocent and well protected all for your future Husband, Satoru Gojo... It disgusts you when you think deeper about it. Your Mother never trusted you, even when you stayed away from danger because you've got enough self love, self care, and self respect. Your mind was blank from thinking, but suddenly, your Mother breaks in the public bathroom and sees you sitting on the floor. She glares, telling you to stand up from the dirt. She wipes the back of your rose colored dress with a tissue to make sure there is nothing behind. "It's been 5 minutes. What have you been doing in here for that long? Are you trying to embarrass me in front of OUR soon-to-be future In-Laws!?" You sigh, saying "No, Mom. That's not it. I just felt very uncomfortable sitting there after all what Satoru Gojo said." Even after you said that, your Mother doesn't seem to understand. Or... At least she just doesn't care. "Doesn't matter, alright? I didn't raise you to get all dramatic over a tiny little thing, run to the bathroom, and sit down on a corner of a random public bathroom during a great night out at a restaurant." She says while gently dragging you out thr bathroom by your forearm. "Now put on a pretty smile."
She takes you back to the table and you guys sit down together. A conversation about random things began. It was quite interesting for you, but you didn't really enjoy being there.
