Apocalyptic Rebirth: With a repairman system space, she rises again.

Chapter 238: Ready for the mission.

The sonic disruptors resembled broken obsidian walls that had been broken into dozens of little pieces. In Warren's words, it was ugly. They were threaded with lines that looked like veins and the lines thrummed gently like little beating hearts.

Many had tried to lift them individually and failed. Only Morris had succeeded in lifting one and this was after he took on his giant shape. And even then, he had been sweating.

The verdict was in, it would take five men to carry men one disruptor and they needed special gloves which Sunshine provided.

The secret which she shared with nobody but Hades was that she could easily carry the individual pieces of wall on her own.

Hades was not letting her do so because he did not want people knowing too much about her abilities or they would take advantage of her. They were relying on her enough as it was.

If they knew about her strength, they would expect her to protect and fight their battles all the time like she owed them something. It was best for everyone to work hard for the survival of the base so that they could treasure it more.

It was exactly 7:00pm in the evening, a lot of activity was happening in Fortress four, the Sonic disruptors were being placed in stealth trucks that Sunshine had brought from her space. They were mostly repaired trucks that she had taken from the warehouse where she had stored her grain in the beginning.

With the system's help she had added soundless engines which would ensure that that no noise was emitted from the trucks on their journey.

The trucks were lined up inside the secret underground tunnel which they would be taking. Sunshine did not want the watchers knowing what they were up to.

They had even dimmed the lights on the base and Rori had put together a team which arranged a last minute dinner party which many residents were attending.

A lot of waltzing was going on outside the dinner hall, a deliberate move to keep the interest of the watchers on the dancers.

It seemed to be working so far, allowing those in the tunnel to work without being noticed.

"Alright people, we leave in an hour." Dwayne shouted to the men, urging them to speed up with whatever they were doing. "Where the hell is the team from the other bases?" he muttered.

That very team was in the first wall, and they had arrived only a minute ago. The men that they had brought were being blindfolded before being whisked off by soldiers.

"Thirty." She murmured as she wrapped up the body count, clearly disappointed. Much as she did not need their team, she just wanted them to put in some effort and show pro-activeness.

Jon pulled his hood tighter against the cold as he stepped forward. His face was drawn, lips cracked from the icy wind.

"You will have to forgive us Mrs. Quinn; these are the men that we could bring."

A scoff came from Sunshine's lips, half the men had soft hands, and they were trembling which was evident that they had never shot even a rabbit. They looked nothing like the team of mercenaries that had followed them on the last hunting trip.

Sunshine's eyes narrowed. "I am guessing that you brought the weak ones such that they strong ones could stay back and protect your bases." She raised her hand, putting a stop to the blindfolding activity. "The ten we have taken so far will do."

The men lowered their heads in shame at the accusation.

"Maybe these five should go along as back up." Hades suggested, pointing at the billionaires.

Sheldon let out a laugh of unease. "You cannot....."

"Yes I can." Hades looked at Carson and tilted his head in Sheldon's direction. "Get this one here proper gear."

Carson nabbed Sheldon before he could run and held him firmly. "Do not hold us back moneybag or else I will shove you into the ass of one of those beetles." He placed a hand over Sheldon's mouth and dragged him away.

Sheldon struggled, shooting his hands out and pleading with his eyes to be saved. But none of his friends came to his aid.

"Have you thought about the mist and the cold? "Jon asked, his face expressing rare concern. "Four hours is not a lot of time."

"We have a solution for both of those things." Hades motioned for Hadrian to come over.

He brought over a crate with weather absorbent suits. "For a fee, each of you can get one, do not worry about the size, they stretch."

Jon touched one of them, liking the feel of the fiber that seemed to shimmer faintly. It seemed like it would be comfortable to sleep in. "What kind of material is this?" He murmured.

"These are weather absorbent suits." Hades lifted up and stretched it for all the billionaires to see. " Our fighters will not feel the cold with these for they regulate the temperature, balancing it according to what the human body needs in a particular moment."

Sunshine moved to stand next to him. "With these, we will last eight hours not four. Five million per suit, cash or gold."

Cash was still a valuable currency and she wanted it. By the time the fifth year came, maybe she would be the richest woman in the world.

The murmurs grew from the billionaire's men. They whispered amongst themselves and nodded.

"The money can be picked up or sent over tomorrow." Jon spoke on their behalf.

"I want buy more of these as soon as this whole bug saga is over." Cory said. He needed at least five more for emergency and ten for his family.

The "me too's" rose as all the billionaire's clamored for more. It was not about vanity, it was about survival.

Sunshine and Hades returned to the second wall, it was time to debrief the group going on the mission. She took the lead, climbing on top of a vehicle in the tunnel.

Sunshine clapped her hands. "Alright, attention everyone enough with the useless talk." She said to them. "Those who have not yet put on weather under suits, do so in the next five minutes because we are about to set off. Now while the suits do buy us time out in the cold, we will not have much of it after planting the sonic disruptors. By my calculations we will have fifteen minutes to get the job done. As soon as the bug realize that they are trapped, they will start fighting back."

The men stiffened, fear clinging to them.

"That is not all." Hades added. "We believe that the watchers are going to fight us every step of the way once they realize what we are doing. You witnessed what happened with the drones. This time, it is not drones, it's us. So, we must be careful but quick. And whatever you do, do not attack the watchers. Of course, if one is trying to kill you, then by all means, defend yourself."

The teams entered the trucks, faces more serious than ever.

Sunshine stood by one, smiling at her husband that looked worried. "Make sure White does not steal coconut beans or milk. He has eaten enough for the day. Also, if you see him and Castiel glaring at each other, separate them."

Hades' hand found hers, rough and trembling despite the strength he tried to project. He kissed her. Slow and lingering. When they pulled apart, his voice was low, almost lost in the engines. "You are worrying about all the wrong things. Come back to me in one piece."

Her throat tightened, but she forced a smile. "I always do."

Then she turned away and entered the car before her resolve could break.

Sheldon climbed into the truck, fumbling with his phone. The glow of the screen reflected his eyes as he began to film himself. "When life gives you lemons, you make a lemonade."

Dwayne snapped, voice sharp as steel. "This not some stupid adventure, we are going to war. Put the damn phone away."

Rolling his eyes, Sheldon slipped the device in his pocket without a word.

"Let's go!" Sunshine ordered.

Elio who had forced himself into the passenger seat beside Sunshine smiled. "The watchers are already on the move. I am afraid our plan to distract them has failed."

"Then let's hope Morris's mountain god goes with us." She replied.
