Apocalypse: Transmigrated General’s Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 382: The Smirking Zombie

Li Kun had instinctively dropped a sack of the waterlogged rice on top of that zombie. This was the first time he was using his space as a weapon and from the looks of it, it worked perfectly as that zombie was crashed under the rice bag.

However, Li Kun had no time to assess the outcome because more zombies were surrounding him and he had to use all his strength and concentration to fight his way through.

At times like this, he wished Chu Miao was around because with a single thought, she would have appeared in front of that zombie and taken care of it.

It didn't discourage him though as he continued to move forward with bullets slicing through the heads of zombies and turning them into meat paste.

As he raised his head to look ahead, he came face to face with the red eyes of the zombie acting like a leader.

His back suddenly stiffened and he felt a chill run down his back. That wasn't the look of a creature without the ability to see.

The zombie wasn't moving at all and it stood unnaturally still, its crimson eyes glaring straight at him as though it knew he was coming.

Li Kun had a bad premonition when he saw that. Moreover, a certain thought sprang in his head.

So it really has intelligence…

Li Kun watched as the zombie leader raised its clawed hand, and instantly, the surrounding zombies started to shift and move around.

They behaved like soldiers who had received an order.

Half of them broke off their assault on the other soldiers and You Yue's team and turned toward Li Kun, forming a living wall of rotten bodies between him and his target.

Damn it!

Li Kun couldn't help but curse when he saw this. These zombies were actually learning how to give orders and protect themselves.

Li Kun knew that it wasn't going to be easy to get out of that encirclement. But he wasn't willing to give up on killing that zombie.

If it was already so formidable now that it could only grunt and roar to give orders, what will happen if it advances and starts thinking a bit more straight.

He could see the signs. Some of the zombies were regaining their human traits. But their thirst for human flesh and blood intensified.

So, even if he had to sacrifice himself, he had to kill this zombie today.

After making this decision, he no longer cared too much and held the submachine gun in one hand while the other grabbed a long dagger from his space.

He leapt forward, unloading a volley of bullets. Five zombies dropped instantly, but ten more lunged at him.

He ducked low, rolled under a set of snapping jaws, and slashed upward with his knife, splitting a skull open.

Another zombie came from the side, arms outstretched with black nails that seemed to scream poison, but a precise kick shattered its knee before Li Kun's gun spat fire, tearing through its forehead.

This was the first intense fight he had fought in a long time.

Every step he took towards that zombie was a bloody battle. Zombie bodies lay around him in a small mountain. However, they didn't stop and kept coming.

But that didn't shake him. He was a soldier, a cultivator, and a man who had walked through countless battlefields. He knew that to win wars, sometimes you had to carve your path with blood.

He also hoped that the medicine Chu Miao left them was useful in case a zombie wounded him and left its virus in his body.

His divine sense never left that zombie. It had locked on it and his aim was still eliminating it.

The zombie was smirking, or at least, that was what it looked like. Its cracked lips curled upward slightly, exposing jagged teeth covered in dried blood and pieces of torn flesh.

The sight made Li Kun's chest tighten.

It was enjoying the sight of him struggling. How could that be a zombie?

If zombies could really smirk… then humanity was in far more danger than they had ever imagined.

With renewed determination, Li Kun charged towards it with a single goal of completely obliterating it.

Meanwhile, the others were barely holding on even though the number of zombies around them had reduced.

You Yue's water energy was beginning to dry, sweat pouring down her face as her core energy drained rapidly.

If they didn't get out soon, she was worried that her core would be damaged.

Wei Zi Qi's fire burned swathes of zombies, but the creatures simply kept coming, unafraid of death. His flames were also starting to dim, showing that he was also running low on energy.

When the soldiers who came with Li Kun saw this, they pulled out the bottles filled with the medicated spiritual spring water and took a sip before passing them on to their new teammates.

"Just taking one sip will be enough. Hold on and wait for the Captain to take down their leader. Things will get better." One of the soldiers said.

You Yue didn't stand on ceremony and took the bottle to take a sip as instructed.

The others did the same. At this point, no one cared whether another person had drunk from the same bottle or not.

If it could save their lives, that was enough.

Luckily, after that one sip, they could feel the fatigue plaguing them reduce significantly and strength return to their muscles and bones.

For those with superpowers, their almost dry core felt as if it had been baptized with rain after a long period of drought and more energy poured into it.

After hearing the words of that soldier and drinking the spiritual spring water, they could now intensify their attacks again.

His words ignited a spark of hope. The five new recruits fought with a desperation born from the promise of a new life in the Garden community. If they died here, that dream would vanish.
