Apocalypse: Transmigrated General’s Daughter Uses Space to Survive

Chapter 380: Use for the Spoiled Rice

The people inside the warehouse stopped what they were doing and turned to look outside.

It looked like the zombies that had been standing far away from them had come closer.

That's right, even though the zombies were becoming intelligent, their brains still couldn't function like a normal human being.

If it was a normal human, they would know that entering the warehouse did not mean that the people had lost their strength to fight. But the zombies seemed to think that now that the people were out of sight, they had become easy target.

"Those zombies had escaped but now they are back? We will have to fight our way out of here now.

Everyone, it's better to take out some crystal cores and absorb them to recover our strength first before we leave here." The leader said as he stopped stuffing his bags with supplies and took out crystal cores the size of a finger nail to meditate.

These crystal cores had really evolved since the first time humans discovered that they could be used to improve superpowers.

At first, the zombies who developed crystal cores only had some as big as a grain of rice. They were so small that one had to either burn the zombie's brain to reveal it, or turn the brain of the zombie upside down inside out to find it.

But now things are different. Even without much effort, the crystal cores were visible as long as the skull of the zombie was open.

Seeing their leader take out a crystal core to absorb, You Yue and Wei Zi Qi also took out theirs to cultivate as well.

They were the only ones in their team who had superpowers. Now that their team had remained with only five people, three of them were superpower users.

When he saw them like this, Li Kun didn't stop them. He hadn't witnessed their battle prowess and wanted to see them fight at their best so that he could determine what department they were suitable for once they joined the sect.

He left the three meditating in one corner and went to inspect the supplies with his other teammates.

He found that even though most of the food stuff in the warehouse had been packaged in bags that had a plastic bag stitched on the inside, some were not like that and were just the regular bags usually used to pack rice.

As such a part of the bags had been soaked by the flood water and the food inside had become somewhat discolored and moldy, especially since after the flood water had dried up, the rice hadn't been spread in the sun to dry.

Moreover, Li Kun also thought that the rice soaked in water this way might not even be so edible anymore.

But when he remembered that many people had died of starvation and some were still starving to death at this moment, he decided again to destroy the soaked rice.

He decided to take it back and ask those without much to do recently to dry it and make sure that it didn't have any moisture left.

Because of the high temperatures and the unbearable sun during the day, Li Kun reckoned that drying the rice for two days would probably be enough to preserve it and make sure it doesn't become completely inedible.

Thus, while the other team recuperated, Li Kun led his team to separate the good supplies from those affected by the flood water.

When You Yue and the others finished meditating and restoring their strength, Li Kun explained his plans and because they never planned on taking anything that had spoiled, they just let him do whatever he wanted with it.

As such, all the bags separated from the good supplies went into Li Kun's space immediately.

After that, he waited until You Yue and her team had packed everything they needed before waving his hand and the bags of rice, flour, and bottles of oil in the warehouse disappeared.

Once everyone had everything they needed, they finally focused their attention outside.

The grunts and roars of the zombies outside had become more intense. One of the soldiers went to the window facing the front of the warehouse and peeked outside.

He was so shocked that he took two steps back.

The outside of the warehouse was crawling with zombies and one could tell that leaving was going to be a problem.

They were going to have to carve a bloody path if they wanted to escape from that building.

That soldier then moved to another window and found that there were zombies in every corner. Almost as if they were blocking every possible opening they could use to escape.

Li Kun, seeing the complexion of the soldier turn bad went to check out the situation as well and was surprised and shocked by what he saw outside.

These zombies were indeed getting smarter. They knew that they could use the windows to escape, so they had posted some zombies there as sentries.

It's a good thing he never planned to escape, otherwise, they would have been locked in there without a way out.

However, looking at the behavior of the zombies, they were indeed becoming intelligent, and it looked like they had a leader who was directing their actions.

After all, no matter how intelligent they become, all the zombies couldn't know how to block their escape routes so thoroughly, unless one of the zombies was giving orders.

He decided to see if he would be able to locate the leader first so that he could make the upcoming fight less dangerous for his teammates and the new comrades.

Since he was a cultivator as well, he could use divine sense to investigate.

Thus, he closed his eyes and spread his divine sense outwards and eventually stopped near the back.

There was a zombie there that was making a kind of different grunts from the rest. It was the leader.
