Apocalypse: Inhuman Ascension

Bang!

The lightning blast struck the shields, instantly shattering them, then continued downward. Scarface's expression hardened, and he immediately crouched to the ground. His hands sank into the asphalt, and he immediately utilized his new attribute from his Level 3 Earth Mage Class—Earth King.

The buildings nearby liquified, then flowed towards him. The wall of mud rose to create an earth dome around the Red Wings, then solidified.

BOOM!

The lightning struck the dome, sending cracks running through. However, the cracks mended themselves, forcing the attack back. Still, cracks continued to appear, though they were being repeatedly healed. The vicious cycle continued for about half a minute before the Godzilla's attack seized.

The dome immediately collapsed, with Scarface panting from exhaustion. His essence reserves were completely dry from using such a large manipulation skill.

With him out of the fight, the others resumed attacking the Godzilla. Leon pounced at its side, delivering blows after blows filled with Null Impact. The monster shook slightly, its scales cracking from the force. Daddy Ye reappeared, attacking its arms again. Daddy Ye's battle-axe dug deep into its wrist, severing several thick muscles and tendons.

Old Pipe landed on its snout, looked at the monster with a wicked grin on his face, then brought his hammer down.

"Hah! How does it feel being on the receiving end of lightning?!"

Boom!

The blow forced its head down, arcs of lightning sizzling its flesh. Its open mouth was forcefully closed, unable to produce any sound. Anna reappeared on its shoulder, then attacked the same spot. Unprotected by scales, the wound gave in to her bloodied whip as it tore another large chunk of its flesh, creating a deeper valley.

Down below, Sylvia saw the tail sweeping towards her and pouted. She couldn't really dodge, so she let it hit her.

The blow sent air running out of her lungs. Groaning, she latched onto the tail, then bit into it. The monster's thick blood quickly flowed into her mouth, helping her heal faster.

'Boss wouldn't count this as breaking the promise and punish me, right?'

She thought as she drank from its blood, then took a bite from its flesh. Just like that, she let herself become a parasite with a 🥲 symbiotic🥲 relationship with the Godzilla.

Meanwhile, Cassie appeared near one of the monster's massive legs, then struck at its toes. Her massive battle-axe sliced through the air and chopped into the flesh, severing a toe.

Roaring in pain, the monster intensified its attacks on the others, forcing them into defensive. Shadow jumped out of a nearby shop, then struck at its precious jewels.

His daggers sliced into the scrotum, then pierced the testicles. Although underhanded, the method worked effectively. A jolt ran through the monster and it roared painfully.

In that stunned state, it was unable to react to Leon's attack. His katana sank into its left eyeball, then came the Null Impact.

Pop!

The whole eye exploded into a gory sight, eliciting a pained wail from the monster. Its tail lashed out, wrecking buildings and structures in a desperate attempt to stop those attacking it from below.

Suddenly, arcs of lightning began to crawl on its spiky back, from the head, down to the last bone spike on its tail.

Seeing that, Leon immediately shouted, "Everyone, jump!"

His subordinates immediately listened and jumped. Those from Cleveland, still lingering around also jumped, at least most of them.

The tail came crashing down with a violent force.

Crack! Bang!

The asphalt cracked under the impact, and a crater was formed. However, the true horror spread immediately after. A field of lightning exploded from the tail, snaking across the ground, and spreading over five hundred meters around Godzilla.

Every single evolved human felt their hair stand on end at the attack. It was devastating because everything on the ground was charred including a few unlucky evolved from Cleveland.

Thankfully, the attack was instantaneous, allowing them to land safely.

Leon sighed in relief as he scanned his subordinates, noting that everyone was alive. While he hadn't personally faced the Godzilla in his past life, he'd heard of its famous attacks—lightning blast and lightning field.

Looking at the corpses of a few second-level evolved of Cleveland, he shook his head. The power of that attack was crazy, insta-killing several evolved.

'Good grief… I can't be complacent against this thing…'

He spotted a few people approaching him from the corner of his eyes and turned to them.

"Let us help."

Austin said firmly. He was tired of being on the sidelines and had come with all his third-level members. The same was with Toji.

Leon nodded indifferently. The more evolved, the merrier the hunt.

With six more third-level evolved joining in, the Godzilla began suffering deeper wounds. After all, they were only targeting the wounds that had been opened up by Anna, Leon, or Daddy Ye.

Suddenly, a weird current passed through the air, almost imperceptible by all.

Leon tensed, his instincts ringing with alarms. He had never felt this level of danger before.

'What could it be…?'

His expression contorted into a frown, and he ordered everyone to retreat. Although confused, they complied and ceased assault against the monster.

As if to prove his intuition right, a green crown appeared on the Godzilla's head, startling everyone. Since when could monsters use equipments?

Leon's eyes sharpened at the sight of the crown, his expression a mix of shock and disbelief.

'A Soul Weapon?!'

Why hadn't he thought of that?! Once a creature, human or not, reached the fourth-level, they would gain a Soul Weapon that could amplify their combat prowess by several folds. He hadn't been there when the Godzilla was killed in his past life, so he knew nothing about it except for the rumors that spread.

Pushing his shock aside, he watched as a dome of lightning spread from the crown, enveloping the monster. Inside the dome, arcs of lightning spread, healing the injuries it had suffered and increasing its strength.

'We have to stop that!'

He looked at the others, noting their conditions. Most of them were slightly tired and injured, having been hit by the Godzilla at least once. The only one who looked fine was Sylvia who had blood on her lips.

'Sigh, looks like I have to do it myself…'

He raised a hand for everyone to stay back, then dashed into the lightning dome.

"Boss!"

"Brother!"

"Leon!"
