Apocalypse: Inhuman Ascension

The second shot drilled into the Godzilla's shoulder with a heavy force, eliciting a furious roar from the monster.

The evolved humans of Cleveland who had been facing the monster had their eyes widen in shock.

A single bullet had penetrated the monster's scales and drew blood!

Leon paid little attention to them and immediately gave orders to his group. He had mobilized almost all of the third-level evolved members of the Red Wings just for this hunt. Also, he brought the Red Valkyries along since he knew the Godzilla had minions.

"Aisha, Rebecca, take the Red Valkyries and contain the horde."

"Sylvia, Shadow, Ice, Little Tiger, and Cassie. You guys should attack its legs from blindspots. Avoid its tail at all costs."

"Scarface, Old Pipe, Daddy Ye, Anna, and I will confront it at close range. Use the surrounding buildings for cover."

"Saber, command your crows and assist in killing the minions."

Everyone immediately dispersed according to his words.

Rebecca and Aisha led the team of second-level evolved women to quell the horde of kaiju monsters. Both girls picked up their spears, then attacked.

Shiiing~!

The monsters were sliced apart regardless of their level, stunning Austin and the others. They watched with open mouths as the two girls brought down a third-level kaiju with a single pincer attack. They didn't stop there. Instead, they tore through the monsters blocking their path, and actively targeted the third-level monsters.

In just a few minutes, four third-level kaiju had died!

The Red Valkyries weren't to be overlooked either. Despite being just twenty in number, they moved with such ferocity that made others tremble. After being abused and tormented in Hurata's shelter, these women feared nothing.

Their madness matched that of the monsters, making them akin to killing machines. Second-Level monsters fell in batches, and even a third-level kaiju didn't survive their assault for long.

Watching the spectacle, Toji felt his body tremble. He wasn't sure he would survive if attacked by those crazy women.

Bang!

He turned his attention to the Godzilla, noting that Leon and the others were already fighting it. Using cars and buildings, they maneuvered around its large frame, attacking from different angles.

Down below, Sylvia and the remaining third-level evolved attacked the Godzilla while it was distracted by Leon's assault team.

Sylvia used her phantom technique repeatedly, appearing on different spots on its humongous legs and peeling off the scales. Little Tiger and Ice immediately took the opportunity and struck the exposed spots, drawing blood from the fourth-level monster.

ROOOAAARR!

Furious, the Godzilla punched the building to its right, trying to catch Scarface. The man's earth spikes were annoying to deal with. Its large claws broke through the building, striking at the man hidden inside.

However, the upper part of the building suddenly melted, then solidified around its wrist. Scarface appeared from the deformed building, landing on the Godzilla's outstretched hand. Raising his greatsword, he stabbed into a small space between its scales, then pulled with all his strength.

The flesh tore under the force of the blade, opening a big wound on its arm. Sensing that it was about to free itself, he jumped towards another building, hiding himself in there.

On the left, Daddy Ye raised his battle-axe as he saw the Godzilla's other arm barreling towards him. Knowing he wouldn't be able to dodge in time, he activated his Berserker class, turning into a two-meter-tall giant.

Though compared to the Godzilla, he looked no different from regular humans. The attack came, and he swung his battle-axe to meet it head-on.

BANG!

The strikes connected, and Daddy Ye was sent flying, crashing into a bungalow down the street. Still, his double-headed battle-axe had left a deep wound on its arm. From atop the tallest building close to the Godzilla, Old Pipe jumped with his hammer raised.

Lightning crackled along the heavy weapon as it slammed into the side of the monster's head.

Boom!

The attack struck cleanly, and Old Pipe could swear he heard the sound of bones breaking. The monster's head turned to the other side from the force of the attack, while Old Pipe retreated.

'Let Leon and his little girl work a bit too…'

He chuckled to himself, quickly disappearing into a nearby hotel.

From both sides of the Godzilla, Anna and Leon appeared. Anna attacked the space between its neck and shoulder with her skeletal whip. The white weapon moved like a serpent and latched onto the monster. The bone spikes on it dug into the spaces between the Godzilla's scales, then pulled.

A brutal ripping sound was made as the whip tore a large chunk of flesh from the Godzilla, opening the biggest injury it had received so far.

'Impressive. Her combat prowess has skyrocketed.'

Leon thought with a small smile, then attacked the other shoulder. His red katana, wrapped in purple flames, easily sank into the monster's flesh, then cut a thin but long line from its shoulder to its armpit.

Blood spilled like fountains, but he deftly avoided the shower of red fluids. Then, came the effect of the purple flames.

Slice~!

The thin line of wound on the Godzilla's shoulder suddenly deepened, almost reaching its bones. This was an effect of the new attribute Leon had acquired. It was called 'Null Impact'. It created a force double of the delivered attack from nothing, then delivered the amplified attack. It was essentially a double attack delivered after the real attack.

Leon had been very surprised by the usefulness of this attribute, as it could help him face enemies stronger than himself.

ROAR!!!

This was the deepest injury the Godzilla had received so far, causing it to roar in rage. Its bleeding arms struck at Leon with blinding speed, hitting his small figure instantly.

Bang!

Leon was sent flying, crashing into a nearby truck and flattening the vehicle. He coughed, feeling cracks on his ribs. His red armor was a bit damaged, though not too much. He immediately checked the durability, then sighed in relief.

Although he liked its Damage Repel skill, he didn't want to see the armor he had just created get destroyed so soon. He forced himself to stand, ignoring the slight pain from his ribs, then looked at the Godzilla again. It was having a hard time dealing with the others who were on the ground, especially Cassie and Shadow who disappeared frequently.

The monster growled, then slightly opened its mouth. From the small opening, Leon could see a blue energy being condensed.

"Retreat!"

He bellowed, and the others quickly arrived beside him. They stared at the attack that was being prepared, with pensive expressions.

Not far away, Austin's eyes widened at the familiar sight. He knew how dangerous that attack could be, and was afraid that Leon's team would be wiped out. He hurriedly shouted to his men.

"Everyone! Throw your shields towards the attack!"

They all complied, discarding their shields and sending them flying. The shields converged above Leon's group like a safety net. Then, the lightning blast came down.
