Chapter 297: Deep Red Member's Perpetual Storage Facility (Part 2)
Lin Xian held a cold light night lamp and, accompanied by several members of the core convoy, began to get out of the car. Kiki followed closely behind, monitoring Lin Xian's patrol drone data through a mobile terminal.
Following the coordinates programmed in the decryption device that Grace provided earlier, they located the hidden password door of the perpetual warehouse behind several emergency repair zones on the secret track. After unlocking it with the device, a large explosion-proof automatic door slowly opened with the hiss of inert gas release. A burst of white smoke followed, and the backup power lights inside gradually illuminated, immediately catching everyone's eyes.
Behind the automatic door was a large-scale high-protection warehouse reminiscent of a wartime supply depot. The space was vast, and upon entering, the bright lighting made the internal warehouse partitions appear remarkably clear. Grains, oil, sugar, freeze-dried compressed foods, canned foods, synthetic protein gels, and various other high-quality provisions were neatly stacked on prefabricated shelving units. There was even a separate frozen zone for storing meats.
The food areas inside were meticulously organized according to storage standards, from one-year storage standards to thirty-year standards, with supplies uniformly arranged. As they proceeded further, they even found special supplies like chocolate, red wine, seafood frozen in special chambers, steaks, hams, cheeses, and caviar.
Additionally, there was a designated medical supplies area, displaying various broad-spectrum antiviral/antibacterial agents, surgical first aid modules, anti-radiation drugs...
The specifications were astonishingly high, especially those wines, all rare and expensive treasures from around the world, luxuries that ordinary people might never even see.
A group of over ten people walked through this pristine, clean warehouse, each with a distinct expression on their faces—astonishment, delight, and a wry smile...
"Romanee Conti 2025, not a bad taste," Qian Deli remarked with a smirk, raising his hand to take a bottle of wine sealed in a special container from the wine cellar area. "These guys really know how to live."
"Recruiting so many wealthy members to come up with these shocking plans," commented Shi Deyuan, who was walking with his arm in a sling, unable to hold back as he looked at the luxurious warehouse shelves. "It seems this Deep Red World is quite something."
Monica approached Qian Deli, picking up another bottle with a smile. Her fingers traced the triangular mark on the corner of the container as she took a deep breath and said, "This Deep Red World, I seem to have come across it a few years ago."
"A few years ago?" Ning Jing couldn't help but ask, "Do you mean before Apocalypse Day?"
Monica nodded, "All I know is that they once told me they were an organization researching human genetic defects, dedicated to advancing human evolution. Many people in certain circles joined. Initially, I looked into it briefly—it was no more than medical beauty, cancer prevention, genetic screening for offspring, nothing extraordinary. They approached me many times, but I just felt it was a similar gimmick to selling doomsday fortresses to the rich, so I wasn't interested."
Looking at the wine in her hand, Monica's eyes reflected a mix of three parts joy and seven parts melancholy, "In this light, this organization does seem to have some foresight."
Lin Xian and Kiki couldn't help but react at these words, their eyes meeting.
"Why does it feel so familiar?" Kiki murmured while standing beside Lin Xian.
"Are you thinking of Qingshui Town?" Lin Xian asked.
Kiki nodded.
Lin Xian remained silent, recalling Underground City No. 9, constructed after Apocalypse Day with trillions in investment and the most advanced automated construction power by the Federation. There was no way the Foundation Organization or Deep Red World could rival the undissolved Federation's resources at that time. Now, merely 100 days after Apocalypse Day, from the discovered information on these two organizations, it appears they possessed an exceptional degree of foresight.
Lin Xian remembered posing this question to Hua Xiaoling in the past, who had said it was a renovation of previous cooperative constructions. However, this perpetual underground warehouse of Deep Red World seemed entirely crafted for doomsday preparation. Could this merely be a coincidence?
"Do you think this Deep Red World has any connection to the Foundation?" Kiki asked, bewildered.
Lin Xian pondered, "These organizations are more mysterious than the last. We're always the ones to realize things after the fact. To get the answers, only the people from Deep Red World would know."
In the bright warehouse, Monica's remarks left everyone a bit taken aback.
"Are you suggesting that this organization knew about Apocalypse Day long before it happened?" Li Yi queried with a surprised look.
"Of course, otherwise, this warehouse, this underground hive hub, couldn't possibly have been built in just a couple of months," Luo Yang replied, furrowing his brow.
Monica shrugged, offering a noncommittal response, "I just happened to remember this incident. To be honest, I don't quite believe in this kind of judgment. Constructing such an underground facility is not difficult for today's mechanical production power, as long as the money is there."
"You're being overly paranoid," Qian Deli added. "Why would a pharmaceutical group have foreknowledge of doomsday even before the pre-Apocalypse Day Federation? Didn't you notice how rushed the Federation's underground city plan was? If humanity had truly foreseen the calamity, the current situation would not be like this."
"Exactly," Shi Deyuan nodded, "This place is clearly newly constructed. As for the supplies, their storage standards are akin to military and regional bunkering; nothing rare, just that the items here are a bit more deluxe."
