Chapter 32: Chapter 32 – Claiming Nami’s Heart
Nami's figure was truly exceptional, and she was surprisingly light. While she still carried a hint of youthful immaturity, Tatsuki figured that in a couple of years—like her appearance two years later—she'd be absolutely perfect.
Of course, carrying her wasn't just for the sake of taking advantage. He had a legitimate purpose.
"Hold on tight," he said.
With that, Tatsuki used his wind manipulation to ascend into the air.
"Eek! W-we're flying?!"
Startled by the sudden ascent, Nami instinctively clung tightly to Tatsuki.
Her position, however…
It was like that of a koala, facing him, with her legs wrapped firmly around his waist and her arms locked tightly around his torso.
Nami's body pressed against his chest as she cautiously glanced at the ground receding below them.
"Where… where are we going?" she asked nervously.
Tatsuki's expression turned serious. "To take care of business."
"Ehh?! In the sky?!"
Nami naturally understood what could happen between a man and a woman. After all, she had essentially sold herself to Tatsuki and had already mentally prepared herself for such a possibility.
Tatsuki had saved her from the nightmare of Arlong, rescuing Cocoyasi Village from the depths of hell. If something like that were the price, she wouldn't mind.
'But… in the sky?'
'Isn't that a bit too weird?'
Imagining what might happen next, Nami's face burned with embarrassment.
"Th-this isn't right, is it? How about we go to my house instead?" she suggested with a pained expression, clearly uncomfortable with the thought of doing anything in the air.
"Ha? What are you talking about?"
Tatsuki's expression turned strange. "I'm talking about dealing with the fish-men at Arlong Park to complete the mission."
"Ah!"
Nami froze in place, her mind blank.
She had misunderstood!
Her face turned crimson with shame.
'What am I even thinking? So embarrassing! I want to die!'
Embarrassed beyond words, Nami buried her face in Tatsuki's chest, too mortified to look at him.
…
As they arrived above Arlong Park, the fish-men below were feasting and drinking, completely unaware that their boss was already dead—or that their own doom was near.
Tatsuki didn't waste time with theatrics.
He simply let himself plummet from the sky.
Boom!
The impact shook the earth like a meteor strike.
From the point where his feet touched the ground, a devastating shockwave rippled outward, leveling everything in its path.
The fish-men didn't even have time to react. Their bodies were crushed to bits by the overwhelming force.
In mere moments, the entirety of Arlong Park was reduced to rubble, the remains of the fish-men buried beneath it.
…
"That… that was incredible!"
Nami stood frozen, staring in awe at the destruction Tatsuki had wrought. To her, it was nothing short of godlike power.
As she watched his calm, handsome profile, a sense of inferiority crept into her heart.
'Someone like me… could never be worthy of someone like him, right?'
She's just a lowly thief, a piece of trash the fish-men pushed around.
Nami's self-deprecating thoughts were written all over her face, and Tatsuki caught onto them effortlessly.
With one hand firmly supporting her shapely hips, he pulled her even closer. His other hand pressed gently against her head, their noses now touching.
Without hesitation, he leaned in and kissed her.
"Mm!"
Nami's eyes widened in shock, completely unprepared for the sudden assault.
Before she could react, Tatsuki pulled away, licking his lips with a teasing smile.
"Regretting it already? Too bad—I'm not giving you a chance to take it back. From now on, you're mine. Got it?"
"Like hell I'd regret it, you bastard!"
Nami's face flushed with embarrassment as she yelled at him, her mind racing with thoughts: "Pervert!"
Yet, deep down, she felt relief—relief that she hadn't been rejected.
At that moment, a notification echoed in both their minds.
…
[Apocalypse Chat Group Alert!]
[Detected: The Arlong Pirates have been annihilated. Reincarnated Fish-man Arlong has been slain.]
[Apocalypse Quest Completed!]
[Tatsuki gains 60,000 Apocalypse Points; Nami gains 15,000 Apocalypse Points.]
[Remaining Quest Time: 50 minutes.]
…
"What's this Apocalypse Points thing?"
Nami blinked in confusion. Having just joined the group, she hadn't fully explored its features.
"Apocalypse Points can be used to draw abilities or strengthen existing ones. For example, my powers came from using them."
Tatsuki used himself as an example to explain.
"That's amazing!"
Realizing that the points could help her become as strong as Tatsuki, Nami grasped their significance. Her gaze became resolute.
"I'll give my points to you!" she said with determination.
Tatsuki was taken aback. "Huh? Why? Don't you want to get stronger?"
"I've already sold myself to you, you jerk!"
Nami glared at him, her frustration evident. She felt undeserving of the points since she hadn't contributed much during the mission.
Tatsuki smirked, tilting her chin gently with his hand.
"Ha, getting into the role of a devoted little wife already?"
"Who's marrying you, you perverted bastard?!"
Nami's face turned crimson, her embarrassment morphing into anger. She tried to bite his hand in retaliation.
To Tatsuki, her actions lacked any real threat—if anything, they were endearing and filled with charm.
"Haha, keep your points. I won't take anything from my own woman. After all, you already belong to me."
Just as Nami prepared to argue further, a group of people suddenly emerged from the forest.
