Chapter 447: The Navy's Stance (Part 3)
John Block nodded again after hearing this, saying, "I understand, these people are just a bunch of fools!"
Chris Kamp was too lazy to even look at John Block.
Donnie, however, had lost his earlier dissatisfaction and said with a smile, "They are definitely not fools. Even if they were, not all of them could be fools. They are doing this simply for two certain guarantees and one that I cannot determine right now!"
"How so?" John Block asked Donnie.
Chris Kamp also looked at Donnie in confusion.
Donnie said, "Two things are certain. First, these people are soldiers, American soldiers. You cannot think about them like American businessmen. In their minds, with guns comes authority. They are used to thinking in a linear way, which is why they dare to go head-to-head with the Bootlegging Empire. After all, our bootlegging operates via land and sea. In this aspect, unless we dare to directly bombard their fleet, they are indeed without fear!"
"Then let's bombard them!"
John Block said directly.
Donnie rolled his eyes at John Block this time, "Unless you want the rest of the American fleet to dock their warships in Atlantic City!"
Brazenly bombarding a Florida-class battleship is equivalent to declaring war on the entire U.S. fleet.
"Second, they are not fools. Just look at their choice of Jermaine Sara, and you'll know. The family on the other side has some business and influence. I think they hope the Sala Family will handle their bootlegging sales.
The last uncertain factor is..."
Donnie pondered for a moment before continuing, "I wonder if there are other parties involved in this matter!"
Other parties?
John Block was baffled, and after thinking for a moment, Chris Kamp asked, "Boss, do you mean families like the Rothschilds?"
Donnie nodded.
With the Deep Sea Bank going public, the Rothschild family suffered a big loss to Donnie, and Donnie believed that the Rothschild family wouldn't just let it go.
In the eyes of outsiders, the Bootlegging Empire is their biggest political leverage. If any impact could be made on the Bootlegging Empire, many who don't like the Block Family would be delighted!
Chris Kamp asked, "So what do we do now?"
John Block immediately shot a disdainful look at Chris Kamp and said, "You can't even guess this, yet you claim you're smart?"
Chris Kamp looked at John suspiciously. Did John really figure out something he didn't?
"Then what do you think we should do?"
John Block responded triumphantly, "Of course, we should first investigate whether or not the Rothschild family has any connection to this. If they do, we'll first deal with that Jermaine Sara, then the Rothschild family."
Chris Kamp thought for a moment and felt that John made some sense. They always prefer to strategize first, and after determining the strength of their opponents, they can ensure they have the advantage when the battle begins!
Donnie leaned back on the sofa, simply watching John Block with a smile and asked, "So, how do you think we should investigate if the Rothschild family is involved?"
John Block, seeing that Donnie was seeking his opinion, became even more delighted and said, "Isn't that simple? Find a couple of capable people to tail Jermaine Sara 24 hours a day. Investigate everything, even how long he can last with a girl. By then, won't we have evidence of his collaboration with the Rothschild family?"
Sss...
Chris Kamp looked at John Block in astonishment. Could it be that John's previous one-track mind was just for show, and this is his true capability? Had they all underestimated John Block?
John Block, feeling Chris Kamp's amazement, became even more pleased with himself.
Donnie continued to ask, "What if, just in case, the Rothschild family isn't involved, or their connections are secretive enough so that even with continuous surveillance of Jermaine Sara, we find nothing? What then?"
John Block looked at Donnie skeptically, feeling that Donnie's intelligence was lacking today, not as good as his own.
"Isn't that better? If the Rothschild family isn't involved, we just take out Jermaine Sara and that's it, right?"
Chris Kamp found himself puzzled by John Block. He had thought John's earlier suggestion was good, but now John's suggestion seemed thoughtless.
Who is Jermaine Sara!
He is the commander of the U.S. Coast Guard's 7th District in the Atlantic region.
Although his official rank doesn't seem high, he is a person with real power, and taking out such a figure, doesn't he know how severe the consequences would be?
Donnie continued to ask, "Have you thought about it? During this period, everyone observing this situation might think we haven't acted because we're scared of them, so during this time, countless people might start imitating their actions?"
John Block was silent.
Chris Kamp began doubting his own smarts.
Donnie looked at Chris Kamp and asked, "Don't tell me, you also think John's suggestion was good?"
"Of course not. John's suggestion was not good at all!" Chris Kamp shouted righteously.
