Chapter 235: Straight Out Of A Fairy Tale.
Leo and Snow stood face to face, the young man used his eyes to peek through the silk veil but it yielded him no results. He frowned after straining his eyes and then he glared at Marian Grisha who stood behind Snow as her bridesmaid. The young lady raised her chin slightly higher as she felt proud.
Lily watched all this and narrowed her eyes to look at Marian, who suddenly sensed something ominous and immediately became honest. Cherry stifled an urge to laugh.
The priest said, "You may lift the veil, and say your vows after me."
Leo gently lifted the veil and he was stunned. Snow wore a delicate makeup, her lips were painted lightly but they matched the shade of the crimson jewel studded in her dress and the necklace around her neck. Her blue eyes looked even deeper than the bost dazzling sapphire in the world.
The fine touch up had enhanced her looks so well, that Leo found himself falling in love all over again. The young man took a deep breath and replied, "I, Leo Christopher Cardinal, promise to do my best by you. I will stay loyal, and keep my fidelity intact. From this moment on, all my secrets are yours, I will stay devout to you in pain and relief, in joy and sorrow. With all that I am, from this moment, till my last, I am yours. I will be your solace."
As he finished speaking he bowed his head slightly and the Priest said, "The Bride may speak her vows."
Snow took a deep breath and stabilized her voice first. This was the day she had always imagined, from the moment she fell in love with Leo, this day had been one of her biggest imagination and fantasy. Yet when today she was in the moment, her heart was overwhelmed with emotions and everyone else could sense the same. Almost all the ladies present at the moment were just one moment away from crying.
Suddenly, Snow sensed a tug on her dress. She looked down and found Lily looking at her with her big crystal clear eyes. The little girl said, "Ma, do you want me to say the vows?"
Everyone was stunned and Leo chuckled a little before Snow realized what happened and the couple erupted in laughter. They laughed so hard that Snow had some water in her eyes. Leo picked Lily up in his arms while he held Snow's hands and asked, "Little goblin, you save your vows for your husband."
Lily snorted and blushed, she could sense that everyone was looking at her with a smile, and she said, "Well, I thought Ma forgot her vows so I wanted to help her, that's all. Baba, you are a meanie, I will not fight Aunty Marian for you now."
Saying that she buried her head in his nape, feeling shy. Leo smiled and his eyes turned into a crescent. He looked at Snow, who said, "I, Snow Anastasia Marlins, promise to do my best by you. I will stay loyal, and keep my fidelity intact. From this moment on, all my secrets are yours, I will stay devout to you in pain and relief, in joy and sorrow. With all that I am, from this moment, till my last, I am yours. I will be your solace."
The Priest looked at Lily in Leo's arm and then he smiled as he said, "Often in temple we say that the children are the manifestation of a god's will and that they are the angels that walk among us. This little one is an angel that arrived in this world for you two. Bless her."
Lily bowed her head and said, "Thank you, Your Eminence."
Leo placed her down and she held hands with both her parents and then the priest said, "Do you, Leo Christopher Cardinal, take, Snow Anastasia Marlins to be your wife, for better or worse, in sickness or health?"
Leo replied calmly, "Yes, I do."
The father turned to look at Snow and said, "Do you, Snow Anastasia Marlins, take, Leo Christopher Cardinal to be your husband, for better or worse, in sickness and health?"
Snow nodded with a smile and said, "Yes, I do."
The priest nodded with a smile and said, "If anyone has any objection to this union, please speak now, or forever hold their silence."
At this moment, Leo was a bit slow but Lily turned her head to scrutinize everyone and the people sensed a pressure fall upon them before they shook their heads and then the Priest said, "Well, then. By the power vested in me, I hereby pronounce you, Husband and Wife."
The people clapped and the Priest said, "You may kiss the bride."
Leo leaned forward and Snow did the same as she leaned over, and they exchanged a warm but gentle kiss. This kiss was filled with nothing other than pure and undiluted love. The couple parted and Lily pouted at them. The parents knew how this little goblin's mind worked. Leo picked her up one more time and pecked her cheek gently.
Lily looked at her mother and Snow did the same with her other cheek and Lily cheered, "Good! Aunty June, time for the big cake. I want the princess."
The people erupted in laughter once again, and Lily asked, "Baba, did I say something funny."
Leo shook his head and looked at her dotingly as he said, "No, my dear. You are the best. Baba loves you."
Lily smiled and kissed his cheek as she said, "Lily loves you the most too. Don't worry, I will not let Aunty Marian bully you."
Leo chuckled and patted her back as he said, "Thank you for protecting me, my angel."
Then he put her back on the ground and held Snow's hand as he smiled at the people who showered them with flower petals as he took the lead to step down the altar and led Snow below as well. He asked gently, "You are happy, right, love?"
Snow looked at him and caressed his face with her gaze as she nodded and said, "I am so happy that I cannot express it. Maybe because the last few days have been nothing short of a dream."
Leo pecked her cheek quickly before he led her down where a huge cake was placed. Leo looked at Percie who said, "Boss, this cake is too big for everyone, but we will not waste it. I would like to borrow your plane and make it deliver the surplus of cake to the main office, where our chef will handle the distribution. Thankfully all the people are currently located in the Angkor City so it would be easy to let them all have a taste."
Leo nodded and said, "I didn't expect you to be so thoughtful, Percie."
The young lady sighed and replied, "So you really take me for a money monger?"
Leo nodded calmly, before he walked up to stand beside Snow, who was ogling at a ten feet tall deck cake. She saw a small princess and prince made out of fondant standing on the top. She sighed and looked at Leo and said, "How much money did you spend for this?"
Leo shrugged his shoulder and said, "I left that for Percie to handle and directed a stream of funds to her. The bill has already been paid in advance and considering that I haven't gone broke, I think it should be good. Also, you know what, Percie is clever. I know that this park is not rented out in public hours. So, she had used the details of all the people and booked their accommodations and tickets as per normal. This saved us a lot of money."
Snow smiled and said, "I shall thank her later on."
Leo chuckled and said, "She would admire a hefty bonus more."
Percie sighed as she said, "Sir, I am right behind you and can hear it all."
The couple chuckled and the cut the cake under the cheers of the people. Followed by the cake cutting, the people sat down in a huge dining area set up outside. While the children played around. After the crowd settled down, June stood up and said, "Well, it looks like the newly weds have found a chance to relax, but the party is just starting. So, without further ado, let us cheer for them as they do the first dance."
Leo sighed, he picked up a glass of Champagne and chugged it down as he stood up and said, "June, you can kiss your end of the month bonus goodbye."
June pretended to be saddened and said, "No! Boss, it was all Madam Hibiscal's idea."
Leo looked at Percie and said, "I am surrounded by slave drivers."
The people chuckled and then Leo led Snow to the center, and the lights dimmed down and a soft voice sounded, "Ladies and gentlemen, the first dance is special, and so is the first song that is played to celebrate it. Please welcome with a warm applause, Young Miss Lily, she will be the maestro at the piano, and will play the magnum opus of the romance king, Viktor Nishe, To My Love."
The people clapped and Leo and Snow turned to look at their daughter sitting at the stood before a grand piano as she waved at them and blew them a flying kiss, before her little fingers began to dance. Leo and Snow smiled at the sight and then after locking eyes with each other, they began to dance around.
The scene was nothing less than a fairy tale itself. Leo and Snow followed the music fluidly, it was as if the song was written for them.
