Chapter 6: Dingsi Building and Xu Yuanfu
"No time."
The Xia family hadn't raised her, so why should she be responsible for Xia Jiaojiao's bad mood?
After finishing her sentence, Yun Zijin hung up the phone and immediately blacklisted Xia Zhiyun's number.
At Kangde Hospital, outside Xia Jiaojiao's ward, Xia Zhiyun listened to the disconnected call. He realized that Yun Zijin had blocked him.
"How was it? When will she arrive?"
Xia Zhengguang was also outside the ward, watching Xia Zhiyun make the call.
Xia Zhiyun moved his lips, eventually telling the truth: "She's not coming, and she just blocked my number."
Xia Zhengguang: …
He hadn't expected this outcome.
"How did it go? When will she come?"
Zhang Yiqun walked out of the ward, looking displeased and speaking impatiently.
"She... refused."
Since there was no way to hide it, Xia Zhiyun had to admit the truth. If he lied and said she would come later, she'd never appear, and they would be exposed in the end.
"Why won't she come? You, her brother, invited her personally. What else does she want?"
Zhang Yiqun couldn't muster any fondness for a daughter she had never met. Hearing that her son's invitation had been rejected, her impression of Yun Zijin worsened significantly.
Xia Zhiyun remained silent. This was the current situation. He couldn't kidnap her, after all.
On the other side, after hanging up the phone, Yun Zijin took a taxi back to Xingyu Huafu. The Hermès staff soon arrived, delivering all the items she had purchased.
Once the Hermès staff left, she finally had time to open the system backpack. Inside, she saw the property ownership certificates for the entire Dingsi Building, as well as the certificates for each office unit.
She didn't know how the system did it, but the backpack contained all the relevant documents: property rights certificates, land use certificates for the Dingsi Building's construction, and other related information. The system handled everything seamlessly.
Dingsi Building had 88 floors above ground. The first floor was divided into 100 units of office space, and there were three underground floors serving as parking lots for both bosses and employees. The management fees were cheaper than outside parking spaces.
After reading through the property documents, Yun Zijin placed them back into the system backpack.
Then, she began organizing all the items she had bought over the past two days, sorting them by category. Kitchen items went to the kitchen; items for the bedroom and the cloakroom went to their respective places.

[Task release: Please spend 6,000,000.00 yuan before midnight tonight. (Requirement: complete the consumption task at the first Auto Expo City in Dijing), Task reward: To be unlocked]
At 6 a.m., the voice of the system, Suibianhua, woke her again with a new task. Seeing today's consumption goal of six million yuan at the Imperial Auto Expo City in the suburbs, Yun Zijin felt dizzy.
She would have to take leave again. But she had just asked for a day off the day before yesterday. Asking for another leave today might not sit well with her supervisor.
"Let's not worry for now. I'll go to work in the morning and see if I can leave in the afternoon," she decided.
Getting out of bed, she quickly brushed her teeth, washed her face, did her skincare routine, and changed her clothes.
Because she stayed at Xingyu Huafu today, she took a taxi to the Dingsi Building. Luckily, she left early. By the time she arrived at the Dingsi Building, there was still half an hour before work.
As she walked slowly toward the employee elevator, she heard someone call out: "Miss Yun!"
Once she entered the front lobby, she recognized the excited voice—and the footsteps rushing toward her. It was Xu Yuanfu, the general manager of the Dingsi Building's property management.
"Miss Yun!"
With a bit of a belly that suggested he hadn't exercised in a while, Xu Yuanfu ran clumsily toward her.
Yun Zijin blinked, suddenly recalling that she was now the sole owner of the Dingsi Building. That would explain why the property manager was approaching her.
Before he could speak further, she quickly gestured for him to hush.
"Good morning, Mr. Xu. What can I do for you?"
As a property manager, Xu Yuanfu knew how to read the room. He understood instantly that she didn't want her identity revealed. Low-key wealthy individuals were like that!
"It's about my niece's tutoring. Last time, I asked if you could help find a classmate to tutor her. How's that going?"
Catching on to his improvisation, Yun Zijin played along. "Ah, yes, Mr. Xu. Add me on WeChat, and I'll give you the WeChat handles of my juniors."
She pulled up her personal WeChat QR code.
Xu Yuanfu eagerly scanned it.
"Mr. Xu, if you need anything, let's talk on WeChat."
"Okay, okay!"
"Then I'll head to work now, if there's nothing else." Ten minutes had passed during their brief conversation. Any more and she'd be late clocking in.
"Go ahead, don't mind me," said Xu Yuanfu.
Yun Zijin took the employee elevator to the 20th floor and entered the company's office area. She greeted everyone politely and headed to her workstation.
"Zijin, you're here!" said Senior Sang Ying, greeting her warmly.
"Good morning, Sister Sang!"
As soon as she sat down, her phone pinged. She received the quarterly financial statements for the Dingsi Building and a list of all tenant companies from Xu Yuanfu. There were also notes about special considerations, like rent discounts or postponed payment dates.
These arrangements had been made under the previous owner. They certainly wouldn't continue under her watch. She quickly messaged Xu Yuanfu about the issue, instructing him that, starting this month, tenants must pay the third quarter's rent on time according to their contracts. If they refused to cooperate, she reserved the right to terminate the lease and find new tenants.
Previously, when dealing with tenants who had connections, Xu Yuanfu had to swallow his pride while collecting rent. Now it was different: the entire Dingsi Building belonged to Miss Yun alone. As property manager, he was essentially her representative. If tenants had complaints, they had to deal with him—and ultimately with her.
He used to be in a subservient position; now, he was essentially the spokesperson for a single, decisive owner.
He quickly typed a message to the tenants' group, informing them that Dingsi Building had a new owner and that future operations would follow the new owner's rules. Tenants could have their opinions, but they would bear the consequences of noncompliance.
Meanwhile, at her workstation, Yun Zijin got into her work rhythm. Approaching lunchtime, she stepped into the supervisor's office with a written leave application.
"Xiao Yun, you've been requesting leave too frequently lately. If you keep this up, I won't know how to explain it to my superiors," the supervisor said, looking at her application with some embarrassment.
He had approved a day off the day before yesterday, and now she was asking for another half-day leave. What could be making her need so many breaks?
