Chapter 15-Emiliya still cares about him so much!
Every day, countless outsiders traverse numerous obstacles to reach the shores of Iofur, situated on the other side of the sea.
They yearn to ascend the one hundred levels of the Euxcad Underground Dungeon.
Xiyaa was indeed a princess of the empire. She possessed an exquisitely noble appearance and a systematic mastery of swordsmanship.
Lyle was grateful that she had brought him into the adventuring group. However, Xiyaa’s image was that of an archetypal aristocratic princess – proud, haughty, domineering, and unreasonable. Moreover, she enjoyed shifting blame onto others.
As the top-tier Moonlight Blossom took turns sampling the drinks, to be frank, it didn’t quite compare to the brews Lyle usually served them.
Of course not. Lyle’s usual offerings were carefully crafted aged wines, surpassing in both texture and flavor the freshly prepared drink in their hands.
However, when it came to promoting the merchandise, one couldn’t be too straightforward. Ebur smiled, “Miss Xiyaa, it’s an honor to have you here.”
However, Xiyaa, dressed in a white windbreaker, showed no intention of shaking his hand. It was Emiliya who exchanged a few words with him.
“Lyle.”
Xiyaa, in her white windbreaker, walked up to him with her hands in her pockets. “We’ll soon be back in Euxcad. By then, I’ll really have to kick you out.”
Originally, it was thought that life would go on as usual without one another. It was believed that things would settle down.
Moonlight Blossom was still dazzling.
Xiyaa looked particularly stunning today, with her white windbreaker, tied-up ponytail, and her slender legs and delicate cheeks giving off an air of grace and elegance. However, seeing Lyle ignore her and chat and laugh with that pointed-eared girl made her truly angry.
Although Xiyaa often made Emiliya secretly frustrated with her tough talk, it couldn’t be denied that the scenes of her adventures with Lyle appeared more and more frequently in her mind.
Many people liked and pursued Xiyaa, but since the scholar, who had accompanied her day and night for two years with a good temper that sometimes seemed spineless, disappeared, Xiyaa felt like she had lost something that should have been hers.
What was it?
Lyle was taken aback, “But haven’t I left Moonlight Blossom a long time ago?”
“You!”
Miss Xiyaa extended her foot and instinctively tried to step on him.
Lyle frowned.
“And now you won’t even let me step on you!”
What else could this be but bullying!
You never used to dodge before!
If Lyle let her step on him,
that would truly be the icing on the cake.
Xiyaa’s expression immediately turned cold; flames seemed to burn in her beautiful and confident pupils. “Because I rejected you, you found a girl and secretly started dating her, didn’t you?”
Lilyss was nearly displaying a sweating soybean expression nearby.
She really couldn’t understand.
What did Moonlight Blossom instill in Lyle?
Even in terms of scholarly ability, they had already reached the forty-fourth floor.
How could someone deny their partner’s competence at this stage?
This person, having had things too easy along the way, was prone to dissatisfaction.
Truly, a bit of humility might be necessary in the future.
Even Boonie Bears would kneel down and kowtow to him, Lyle.
“If you have what it takes, never return to Moonlight Blossom. Let’s see if anyone in Iofur would want you as a scholar.”
The other two members of Moonlight Blossom arrived upon hearing Xiyaa’s words. Emiliya wished she could tear that wretched mouth apart.
Is this the time for threats?!
A certain unnamed mage, Flo, was lurking nearby, arms crossed and relishing the drama.
Even the pointed ears were anxious.
Absolutely delighted.
What’s so good about this stinky man anyway?
Xiyaa snorted coldly, her footsteps echoing as she swirled her white windbreaker and walked away.
Lyle didn’t look too good.
“Lyle, if you’re really planning to start brewing, let me help you get connected with the Silver Guild. I really want to help you.”
Emiliya seemed slightly nervous.
Lyle shook his head. “No need, thank you.”
“Lyle, don’t keep rejecting me.”
Emiliya pitifully tugged at his sleeve, her face contorted in anguish. “Please don’t be mad, I’m not like Xiyaa.”
Lyle chuckled softly. “I’m not upset, Emiliya. You should go enjoy life and pursue adventures. Don’t focus on me.”
“What’s wrong with you? Did I do something wrong?”
Lyle smiled faintly. “You haven’t done anything wrong.”
Emiliya felt like she was going crazy.
Lyle sighed. “It’s me, I haven’t been good enough.”
“At the beginning, I didn’t know anything and could only learn bit by bit from the fragmented diaries of those neglected adventurers.”
“I have no family in this world, so I’ve always regarded you all as my family.”
“At first, I did think that what I did wasn’t enough, so I desperately looked at the diaries to prove myself, to prove that I was worthy of being in Moonlight Blossom, worthy of being a scholar worthy of Xiyaa.”
“But every time, I misjudged my relationship with Xiyaa.”
“Yes, I don’t have the skills of a scholar, I admit that. But what really concerns me is the sincere efforts I put in, only to be called foolish and delusional by Xiyaa, to be despised and mocked.”
Emiliya whispered, “Lyle, are you resentful of her?”
“No.”
Lyle pointed to his temple. “It wasn’t until now that I realized there’s never been a rule in this world that if you are good to someone, they have to be good to you. It’s normal, actually.”
Lyle didn’t think he was so remarkable. But he also needed to find something, whether it be an ideal or love. He needed something to remind himself that he wasn’t living purely out of inertia for others.
Lyle’s eyes were calm. Emiliya, of course, wouldn’t believe this. What kind of relationship did Lyle have with her after all?
As long as she acted cute and coquettish, and praised him a bit, Lyle generally wouldn’t refuse her requests.
But what exactly was their relationship…
Ambiguous affection?
No, Lyle’s gaze toward her had always been an appreciation of beauty, not desire.
Every word she spoke didn’t stray from Xiyaa.
In what way am I inferior to Xiyaa?
And in what way am I inferior to this pointed-eared person?
Emiliya felt a bit wronged. “We used to sit on the roof and watch the stars at night. I thought we could always continue like this…”
Without saying “I love you,” just saying “I enjoy being with you.”
But no, just pushing hard. Enjoy being licked by someone.
“You don’t want to take care of me anymore?”
To be honest, in Emiliya’s eyes, Lyle had grown little by little. She had witnessed his confusion and cautiousness, as well as his transformation from naivety to depth.
She greatly enjoyed the affection from Lyle, even if it was divided into three parts.
But now, he wanted to give it to someone else?
This was something Emiliya absolutely couldn’t accept.
Are you planning to leave with my consent?
Lyle smiled, “Do you like me? Or is it just as a companion?”
“If it’s as a companion, it’s actually hard to stand firm because we are companions, not in a superior-subordinate relationship.”
