Chapter 152: Kind Elder
To say the Elder was startled would be an understatement.
First, he saw the unmistakable mark of the Elemental Heaven Peak Master on the medallion.
Second, the medallion itself belonged to an Irregular.
And third — only now did he notice, the child standing before him was merely at the beginning of Foundation Establishment realm.
In the span of a heartbeat, the Elder reached a conclusion: this boy was indeed a disciple of the Elemental Heaven Peak Master.
But that wasn't what truly unsettled him. What shook him was the fact that this seemingly ordinary child was an Irregular.
He had heard the whispers among the other Elders that in this generation there were a few Irregulars, but each carried terrifying backgrounds and potential. One rumor even claimed one of them was a Young Elder Dragon who had achieved Bloodline Regression.
The Elder himself had met Irregulars before, and every single one had been a monster standing at the peak of their peers.
Yet, looking at Yu Xuan, nothing screamed "monster." He just looked… normal. Ordinary, even.
Well, aside from his unnervingly beautiful appearance.
And that faint, inexplicable feeling the Elder couldn't quite shake off… that the boy was far stronger than he appeared.
Shaking his head, the Elder decided to show a little more goodwill. It won't harm me anyway.
After returning the medallion to Yu Xuan, he mentally commanded a nearby disciple to contact the main Chaos Heaven Peak. Those people are always strange.
You can transfer in some time.
The Elder's voice echoed in Yu Xuan's mind.
Yu Xuan blinked, a little dazed. First, he had expected the Elder to scold him for arrogance, but that didn't happen. Second, the Elder was calm. Even… kind.
'Those novels all lied,' Yu Xuan thought bitterly. An image popped into his head.
A man with crimson eyes shouting: Wake up to reality! Nothing ever goes as planned in this accursed world. The longer you live, the more you'll realize, all those tropes were fake!!!
After his last experience of being dragged into court, Yu Xuan had thought he might need to flaunt his background as the disciple of a Peak Master.
But everything turned out fine. He didn't even get the chance to say, Do you know who my master is?!
His Young Master Mode quietly shut off, and his shoulders slumped.
The Elder, watching this, sighed inwardly, assuming the child simply missed his sister.
Soon, a message came — the teleportation formation was ready.
***
Yu Xuan thanked the kind Elder for making his journey simple (???).
Haha, that's fine. Enjoy your time, young man.
The Elder's voice echoed in his head.
Yu Xuan then followed a nearby disciple, who was clearly questioning in his heart what sort of relationship Yu Xuan had with the Elder. The surrounding onlookers were no less curious — after all, who could casually chat with an Elder like that?
Even so, Yu Xuan cut straight to the front of the line without resistance. Nobody stopped him; no one dared.
He stepped alone onto the teleportation formation. The carved runes shimmered faintly before flaring to life.
Closing his eyes, Yu Xuan braced himself.
WOOSH!
In the blink of an eye, he was gone, transported directly to the main Chaos Heaven Peak.
***
Yu Xuan opened his eyes and immediately found himself surrounded by a handful of disciples. They gave him a quick once-over, one of them asking cautiously,
"Hey… are you from the Elemental Heaven Peak?"
Yu Xuan glanced at the speaker, but before he could reply, another disciple scoffed.
"Tsk, look at his robes. He's not even wearing official sect robes."
"Isn't this just a waste of time, then?"
"Ridiculous," a third added, clearly annoyed.
"Senior brother said someone important from Elemental Heaven Peak was coming. We were supposed to welcome him personally because of that whole matter with junior sister."
"And instead we get this guy? What is he even doing here?"
"I don't know why senior brother's even courting the junior sister. With his status, many will willingly offer themselves."
Yu Xuan silently listened, piecing things together. Their senior brother was clearly trying to court some junior sister, and an 'important guest' from the Elemental Heaven Peak was tied to that arrangement.
Unfortunately, he had appeared right on cue… and was now they were taking their anger on him. Why? They were simply annoyed for waiting so long.
Among them, one disciple stood taller than the rest — a moderately handsome human with sharp brows and the air of a self-proclaimed mediator.
Another stood out more.
His eyes gleamed like a tiger's, and faint streaks of white fur ran across his arms and neck. An innate arrogance clung to him, sharp and wild, as if he was one step away from pouncing.
The tall disciple muttered, "Maybe he really is here on official business. But those robes… not convincing." His gaze lingered on the clan robes Yu Xuan wore.
The tiger eyed disciple grinned, teeth flashing. Having already gauged Yu Xuan's cultivation, Foundation Establishment, his tone dripped with eagerness.
"Then he is not the guest… so I can beat him up, right? That won't matter now."
Yu Xuan's eyes narrowed slightly. Compared to his desolate Elemental Heaven Peak, which had only him and his master, this place was truly lively.
Cultivators bickering, schemes about junior sisters, disciples gathering for gossip, it felt like stepping into a new world.
Yu Xuan admits that, he had been living a sheltered life. At his home world, it was his clan protecting him and here, it was his master.
And though she haven't said that, but Yu Xuan felt if he were in real trouble, then his master would definitely come to his rescue.
This was his gut feeling.
And he also noticed that the tiger eyed disciple was in mid stage Core Formation realm. Though Yu Xuan thought he can easily defeat him, if they can solve their problem by talking, things could be avoided.
But perhaps… it was time.
About His proper cultivation debut.
