Abby Peterson moved anxiously around her little apartment with her cellphone in hand. She had just recieved a call from her dear frenemy Maybelline, about the survival of Penelope and the madman.

She was furious and scared at the same time.

All there was on her mind was how the madman had survived. How did he escape from thise men?

And from what she had heard, they were all found dead when Maybelline's men arrived. Their body looked like it was eaten by an animal.

Maybelline dreaded at the news. That dangerous man, the one after them was definitely going to kill Chris now. She couldn't imagine the things he could possibly do to her son.

That is why she had asked her family not to step out for the rest of the day until the madman dies.

Abby couldn't believe her plans of killing him the previous day had backfired. They had everything planned out. They were so sure they would succeed with it.

How Osvaldo escaped was something she didn't understand. The drug they gave him was strong, so strong it was meant to knock him out for days.

Even if he wakes up, he was meant to be weak. So weak he would barely open his eyes. So how did he escape?

"This is all your fault. If you hadn't accepted thats gift, we would never be here." Chris barked. He was all dressed and ready to step out with his friends only to be told this.

His social life was dying slowly because of her mistake. People no longer wanted to be associated with him because of her mistake. He had no idea what to do.

Abby's mistake has ruined their lives. First they were kicked out of the Adkins family, and now, they couldn't even sleep at night without her barging into their room trembling from fear of the inevitable.

"If I didn't accept the money we wouldn't have the grand wedding we had, you ungrateful brat!" Abby bit out. She didn't like that her son was unappreciative of her support. She had gone out of her way to support him yet here he was acting like she's done anything horrible.

"I never asked for a grand wedding. That was all you and Ariana. You let your greediness get the better of you so don't blame me for it." Chris pointed towards her.

"That's enough Chris." Gregory stepped in like the father he was. He knew everything happening now was Abby's fault, but that didn't mean Chris would disrespect his mother no matter the mistake.

"You should speak to your wife. I will not be tied down because of her mistake." He stepped out of theor apartment angrily without looking back.

Fuck his mother!

Fuck his father!

Fuck the stupid man after his life!

Why would anyone want to hurt him when he did nothing? Why wouldn't they face his mother who had accepted to the deal?

"No, Chris, don't go! It's not safe outside!" Abby's voice cracked as she tried to run after her son.

Gregory's hand clamped down on her arm, holding her back. "Let him go," he muttered, but Abby's heart was breaking. Chris was her only son, if anything happened to him, she would never survive it.

Chris didn't even look back. He strode toward his car with an easy confidence, the kind that came from not knowing the kind of danger waiting for him. To him, his mother's fear was nothing but overprotective nagging.

He slid behind the wheel, slammed the door, and revved the engine. With a smirk, he turned the music up loud, the bass thumping in his chest. The road stretched out in front of him, and he pressed hard on the accelerator, speeding away.

In his mind, life was too short to be chained by worry. His mother's problems weren't his, and since his wife no longer held the spark she once had, he was ready to seek his own kind of thrill.

Who knew one day Ariana would become so fat and unattractive. He wishes he could end the stupid marriage once and for all. But his mother's greed wouldn't let him.

The cold air rushed against his windows as he drove, headlights cutting across the highway. But then...

Something felt off. Out of nowhere, a sleek black car screeched to a halt across the road, blocking his path.

Chris's tires screamed as he slammed the brakes, his car jolting to a violent stop just inches away from the obstacle. His pulse spiked.

Before he could react, the doors of the black car flew open.

One by one, men dressed in black stepped out. Not one, not two, but SEVEN in total. They moved with a chilling calm, their faces unreadable. In their hands were iron rod, most of them smashed it against their palm as they walked. Others just moved with ease.

Chris's hands tightened on the wheel, his mouth going dry. He wasn't prepared for this.

The day suddenly felt heavier, dangerous, as the men closed in.

"I'm so happy you're okay Penelope." Maybelline said for the thousand times since she arrived at the table.

In other to prove her fake love for her daughter, she had to stay the day with Penny and act like she cared about her, when in truth, she didn't care at all.

If anything, she hated to be here today. Everything was so irritating, but she had a mission tonight. If the madman didn't die by the hoodlums, there's no way he can escape the poison she's planned for him.

Maybelline has spent all afternoon lecturing Hughes on how to prepare the poison for her mashed and the housekeeper seemed to be a good listener.

She didn't care about anything else. But her Ariana will never be a widow before Penelope. Penny is the only one that should be suffering, not her Ariana.

Tonight, Penny must be turned into a widow.

"I've heard tales of what those hoodlums do to girls as beautiful as you are. Are you sure they didn't touch you?" May asked hopong to innocently embarrass Penny before everyone.

All eyes landed to Penelope as she shook her head gently.

She didn't want to relieve the trauma again, and her mother asking her such question before everyone was bringing back memories she didn't want to remember.

"Are you sure Penny. We're family, you should speak up so that we get rid of any bastard before it gets life." May said worriedly trying to force Penny to admit something she didn't do.

"Nothing of such happened mother. Osvaldo was there with me to protect me." Penny said calmly.

"... That's good then." May smiled eyeing the madman stylishly and when the golden eyes met hers, she quickly shifted her gaze.

"Let's forget about last night and focus more on today. We should celebrate the safe return of my dear cousin and sister." Kael said raising his toast and the others followed.

"To more good days ahead?" Darlington said and the others agreed.

"To more good days ahead." They toasted together the sound of glasses clinking sounded in the air.

The servants brought in the dishes immediately and Ari who couldn't control herself around food, dug into it.

The stake was so tender against her skin that she didn't need to chew, it just melted in her mouth. Ari ate and ate, messing herself and the table.

"Forgive her attitude, but she's been this way since her recent kidnap." May said calmly, then she turned to her daughter.

"Penelope, you have every right to punish your sister. But can you free her now, Ari had suffered enough." May said before everyone.

"Ariana had learned her lesson, she would never do that again." Penny would have loved to help like her mother had said, but the problem is that she did nothing to Ari.

She had no idea what Osvaldo did to her sister.

"What are you talking about miss Willard?" Darlington cut in. "How can you blame my granddaughter in law for your daughter's eating habits?" He asked.

That was stupid. What had Penny got to do with Ariana's eating problem. Penny isn't the one who forced her to eat anything.

"Yes, no one can cause anyone to eat so much. It's clear your daughter is a glutton, don't blame my sister for that." Lio said stylishly. No Penny slander will be tolerated.
