Chapter 65: Saint

Yan Luo held a chainsaw, cutting through the giant armadillo's corpse.

Sasa stood excitedly on the top of an armored vehicle, commanding, "There! Yes, that part must be preserved intact!"

She was referring to the reproductive organs of the giant armadillo. In the Elf World, demons could reproduce naturally. Since that was the case, there must be reproductive cells inside the reproductive organs.

This was a field the Blue Star People had never delved into. None of the deep-ecology authorities had researched it, and if she could conduct in-depth research, she would surely be able to write numerous groundbreaking papers.

Moreover, this was a city-breaking level demon!

Thinking of this, Sasa couldn't help but be awed, "Yan Luo, you've been a Hunter for less than a year, right?"

Yan Luo was momentarily surprised, only then remembering that it indeed hadn't been a year since he became a Hunter.

Just one or two months short before his first anniversary joining the Hunters.

In less than a year, he actually grew to a level capable of slaying a city-breaking level demon?

Thinking of this, Yan Luo couldn't help but take a sharp intake of breath.

Without the enhancement gemstone powder, he wouldn't have been able to grow so quickly, and if not for Sasa's planning of his enhancement regimen, his combat power wouldn't have been so formidable.

"Sasa, thank you."

Yan Luo suddenly thanked Sasa, which left her a bit stunned.

Although she didn't know what Yan Luo was thinking of, she accepted his thanks.

Sasa smiled, thinking that Yan Luo owed her a favor and would surely sponsor her more in the future.

Afterward, Yan Luo continued with the task of cutting through the giant armadillo's corpse.

Julia and Suniya stood by, contemplating what the outcome would be if they had to face this giant beast.

Just thinking of it gave them goosebumps.

Can't win!

No matter how they thought about it, they couldn't win!

Neither Julia nor Suniya believed they had any chance against a level four demon monster.

Such a powerful demon that they absolutely could not defeat fell under Yan Luo's hand...

Without a doubt, this human had already reached the rank of a master!

Yan Luo couldn't take the entire corpse of the giant armadillo because it was too massive to fit entirely inside any space box.

The space box also needed to carry some research instruments Sasa required, and even if they unloaded all the ammunition boxes in the back compartment, there was still not enough space cleared.

Therefore, they had to cut up the giant armadillo's corpse.

Place the parts they needed to take into the space box, and dissect the remainder on the spot.

Scales, bone plates, blood, and meat were all Yan Luo needed.

He wanted to take back some scales and bone plates from the giant armadillo to use when crafting a personal exoskeleton in the future.

As for the blood and meat, of course, they were meant to be eaten.

The blood and flesh of demons in the Elf World contained a large amount of magic power, not to mention that this was a city-breaking level demon, which would certainly be very nourishing for Yan Luo.

If the blood and flesh of the giant armadillo were difficult to digest, it might even help to advance Yan Luo's digestive system development.

After loading all the necessary parts into the space box, Yan Luo began to cut the blood and flesh of the remaining sections.

Blood was stored in several containers, ready to be made into blood tofu, and the meat was much simpler — he just started eating directly.

When they heard Yan Luo intended to eat the giant armadillo's meat, both Julia and Suniya thought he was crazy.

Although he was a master rank, this was still a level four demon. Even if the meat could barely be swallowed, could Yan Luo's body really digest it?

Julia and Suniya did not anticipate that Yan Luo's body would answer that question — yes, it could!

Yan Luo took out a high-temperature torch and sprayed flame onto the giant armadillo meat.

Ordinary flames would take a long time to cook the meat of a city-breaking level demon, but with a high-temperature torch, it only took three minutes.

Seeing Yan Luo actually doing it, Julia instead didn't think he was crazy, but began pondering the human extraordinary system.

From what she understood about humans, their extraordinary system was divided into two main categories. One was implanting engraving into the body, using it to control magic power and forming supernatural strength.

However, from Yan Luo's performance, the extraordinary power he possessed clearly didn't belong to this category.

In other words, the supernatural power he wielded was the other category — the Saint system!

There were 'Saints' among humans?

Thinking this, Julia couldn't help but take a sharp breath of air.

About this extraordinary system, Elves didn't understand much either. They just held significant reverence for the existence of 'Saints.'

Granting blood to a person without magic power adaptability could give them the supernatural power of body enhancement. Granting it to someone with magic power adaptability could awaken their ability to automatically attract magic power.

For Elves, who grew slowly, if they could receive a Saint's blood grant, it would be a monumental blessing.

No need for meditation, constantly attracting magic power during daily activities, and never ceasing even while sleeping.

It's because of the existence of Saints that humans have become incredibly powerful.

No race other than humans can produce a 'Saint.'

Humans occupy the Midgard, the only complex world capable of connecting multiple worlds, and if they weren't strong enough, they'd have been exterminated by other races long ago.

An Enhancer under the Saint system...

For a moment, Julia looked at Yan Luo with extremely complicated emotions.

She also wanted to receive a Saint's blood grant—every Elf wanted to obtain a Saint's blood.

In history, there were Elves who wished to receive a Saint's blood grant and joined the humans. Many Elves who stayed in Midgard when the Secluded Realm was cut off received the Saint's blood grant.

Unfortunately, just as Elves are born with spellcasting abilities, only humans can produce a 'Saint.'

Magic power favors every race differently.

The meat of a city-breaking level demon was not tasty; it was like chewing rubber, impossible to chew through.

Yan Luo's body had reached a significant level of enhancement, but for a city-breaking level demon, he was still somewhat immature.

Bang!

As he chewed on the giant armadillo meat, one of Yan Luo's teeth broke, making his facial muscles twitch.

Yan Luo had already gotten used to this.

Unlike bones that continuously refresh, his teeth didn't increase in strength as his body grew stronger.

Yan Luo's teeth were replaced periodically. The replacement wasn't passive; he'd get new ones only after they broke.

If his teeth didn't break while chewing on demon meat, Yan Luo would have to pull them out himself for better ones to grow.

The only consolation was that when pulling teeth actively, Yan Luo could use anesthesia, but only a tiny bit.

Just like energizers had a minimizing effect on him, so did anesthesia.

Yan Luo was unfazed and continued chewing, swallowing even the broken tooth. After all, his digestive abilities could handle it, and the idea of the tooth fragments tearing his esophagus or stomach was out of the question.

After much hesitation, Julia finally summoned up the courage to ask.

"Yan Luo, may I ask which 'Saint' you follow?"

Hearing Julia's question, Yan Luo turned his head in confusion.

Julia assumed Yan Luo didn't understand her, but actually, Yan Luo did.

The word 'Saint' was pronounced the same in ancient and modern Chinese. Although there were a few words in Julia's sentence Yan Luo didn't get, he could guess from context what she wanted to know.

Saint? Why suddenly bring that up?

Yan Luo hadn't pieced it all together, but Sasa did.

She realized that the ancestors of Blue Star humans must have interacted with Elves, which was why Elves had preserved some human-related data and knew much about humans.

Though some data was outdated, some aspects were unknown to Blue Star People due to civilization breaks.

Julia speculated that Yan Luo's abilities were from a 'Saint,' which made Sasa think of the experiments she conducted.

When lab animals without magic adaptability ingested Yan Luo's blood, their bodies changed as well.

Due to timing constraints and concerns over exposing Yan Luo's secrets, Sasa had not dived deeper into this research.

Julia inferred from the conversation that those with low magic adaptability who received Yan Luo's blood could, like him, consume demon meat to strengthen their bodies.

Thus, was Yan Luo the 'Saint' Julia spoke of?
