Chapter 63: First Official Clash with a City-breaking Level Demon

Yan Luo was thrown into the air, Sasa's worried gaze followed him, but she didn't see the giant armadillo handstand and flick its tail.

"Ah!"

It wasn't until Suniya let out a gasp that Sasa noticed this.

Yan Luo had no leverage in the air and was sure to be hit by the tail!

As Sasa feared, Yan Luo was indeed struck by the giant armadillo's tail.

But this wasn't Yan Luo being hit; it was him actively engaging the giant armadillo.

He adjusted his position mid-air, and the swinging tail of the giant armadillo collided precisely with his feet.

Yan Luo used the tail of the giant armadillo to gain momentum, easily propelling himself toward a nearby 'short tree'.

Short is relative; surrounded by towering giants, this one tree was stunted, two or three segments shorter than the others.

Yan Luo needed just that - its stunted growth.

He flew toward the short tree, suddenly swinging the molten axe.

As effortlessly as a hot knife through butter, Yan Luo swung the molten axe and chopped the short tree down.

The top part slowly slid down, gaining speed, and in an instant, fell onto the giant armadillo, crashing heavily onto its back.

This pinned the giant armadillo momentarily. Simultaneously, Yan Luo sprang from another giant tree's trunk, nearly snapping it.

This tremendous force granted Yan Luo enough speed. In a blink, he was already above the giant armadillo's back.

"Hah!"

The enormous force from his descent struck into the giant armadillo, causing it to stumble and slam its belly into the ground.

Under the axe blade, scales shattered, bones cracked, and blood sprayed, drenching Yan Luo.

But this wasn't enough!

Yan Luo laughed heartily, once more raising the molten axe for a mighty chop.

The axe blade fell, shattering scales and bones alike!

The relatively fragile muscle tissue lay exposed before Yan Luo's eyes, and as he was about to strike again, the massive body beneath him suddenly trembled.

All its muscles contracted and then burst forth with an unstoppable force.

The armadillo leaped off the ground, curling in mid-air, shaking off the tree pinned to its back, and threw Yan Luo off as well.

Promptly, the armadillo curled into a ball and, using its thick and powerful tail, propelled itself to roll across the ground.

The ground trembled with it!

Yan Luo stood on the ground, looking somewhat grim.

Since the armadillo began rolling, he hadn't been able to get close or find an opportunity to attack it.

With his current ability, being crushed beneath the armadillo wouldn't be a joke; at the very least, he would be severely injured.

Yan Luo could only dodge, not withstand.

Despite its thick tail and considerable strength, the armadillo's body was also heavy, and the ground uneven, making its rolling laborious. Therefore, the armadillo's rolling speed was not fast, and it had to swing its tail periodically to propel itself again.

It chased Yan Luo, regardless of the giant trees and rocks in its path, crushing everything in its way.

Rumble!

The armadillo rolled consistently, and easily crashed into giant trees during its chase of Yan Luo, one towering tree after another fell, causing constant tremors and booming echoes, filling the air with clamorous noise.

The dust raised from the ground seemed to obscure the sky, transforming into thick smoke that enveloped the forest land.

Sitting inside the armored vehicle, Sasa and the others couldn't help but slow their breathing upon witnessing this scene.

Yan Luo weaved through the thick smoke, his eyes tearing from the dust, so he simply closed them, using his ears to listen to the surroundings.

Even amidst a forest, it didn't matter; Yan Luo could even distinguish the presence of trees by the sound of the wind, and an indistinct intuition guided him on which direction to best avoid the giant armadillo's rolling attack.

After rolling for three to four minutes, the armadillo stopped.

It was out of strength to continue to roll.

At this moment, Yan Luo suddenly stomped his foot into the mud, exerting force, and broke through the mist in front, sweeping his axe towards the armadillo's head.

However, apart from its tough scales, the giant armadillo also had sharp claws.

Its reaction wasn't slow; seeing Yan Luo charge, it immediately swung its sharp claws, brushing close to the ground.

At that moment, Yan Luo stomped his foot on the ground, springing into the air, somersaulting, and landing heavily on the armadillo's back.

This is the visual blind spot of the armadillo, a place it can't attack. Since he can break through the scales and armor of the armadillo, why not continue?

Yan Luo let out a loud shout, and the heat-emitting axe suddenly smashed down, causing blood to gush from the armadillo's back as if a fountain was spurting.

The giant armadillo let out a miserable scream, immediately rolling to its side, trying to crush Yan Luo to the ground.

But Yan Luo leaped up again, soaring sixteen meters into the air.

With his left hand forming a fist, he struck the back of the axe, sending the red-hot axe blade plummeting down towards the giant armadillo's exposed chest.

He quickly pulled a new axe blade from his backpack, ignoring the heat of the axe body, and installed the blade.

The old axe blade falling from above struck the giant armadillo's abdomen, the heat making the armadillo feel a sudden pain, forcing it to roll over again to shake off the blade.

At this moment, Yan Luo descended, landing once more on the armadillo's back.

The axe blade with excellent thermal conductivity was already crimson, and Yan Luo swung his arm with all his might, bringing down the heat axe straight down.

The muscles on the giant armadillo's back instantly charred, with blood pressure bursting the scorched vessels, gushing out.

The giant armadillo, feeling the pain, immediately let out a pitiful wail, threw its body forward, and then curled up, beginning to roll again.

Yan Luo had no choice but to jump off the armadillo's back, running continuously ahead to dodge the armadillo's rolling.

The large trees previously knocked down by the armadillo stood in front; Yan Luo could easily leap over them, and so could the armadillo.

However, its method was quite crude—crash through!

As long as it smashed and broke anything obstructing its path, nothing could stop it any longer.

The armadillo hadn't fully regained its stamina yet, but it began another roll, which lasted for no more than fifty seconds.

In his mind, Yan Luo calculated the armadillo's rolling speed and force. When these numbers reached their lowest, he twisted around like a spinning arrow, racing towards the giant armadillo.

The armadillo stretched its body at that moment, only to face the scorching red axe blade approaching.

Yan Luo swung the heat axe upwards, splitting the armadillo's chin, breaking several of its teeth too.

With its chin taking such a heavy blow, the giant armadillo's head jerked back reflexively. In its fury, it pulled its head back to see the descending heat axe once again.

As the axe blade reached the peak of its swing, Yan Luo stepped forward, using his entire body's strength to pull his arm, bringing the heat axe back in.

"Slash!!!"

The burning axe hit the scale-covered head of the armadillo, instantly shattering those scales, forcefully pressing the armadillo's head into the ground, filling its nose with earth.

The next moment, the armadillo, furious, lifted its head, throwing Yan Luo flying.

The giant armadillo quickly stood up, supporting its body on its hind legs, its forepaws wildly flailing, aiming to tear Yan Luo apart.

Unfortunately, Yan Luo landed on the ground, immediately retreating, creating an eighteen-meter gap between him and the armadillo in no time.

Seeing this, the armadillo suddenly leaped, its body lunging forward as Yan Luo started to run away.

—Bang!

The enormous body crashed to the ground, sending the dust on the hundred-meter radius floor flying.

Even though its body hit the ground, the giant armadillo seemed unaffected, instantly turning and charging at Yan Luo.

Yan Luo hid behind a tree, and the armadillo crashed directly into the giant tree, breaking it at the base, causing the tree to topple forward.

Just then, Yan Luo dashed out from the side of the armadillo, swinging his axe, slashing at the armadillo's right forepaw.

The axe instantly opened a wound on the armadillo's right forearm, causing blood to spray out.

Furiously, the giant armadillo swung its right forepaw at Yan Luo.

Yan Luo jumped back five meters, then pushed off the ground, his figure returning rapidly, swinging his axe towards the armadillo's side abdomen.

The armadillo turned to bite but hadn't realized it played right into Yan Luo's hands.

Yan Luo abruptly braked, halting his charge, then twisted his torso, switching from a chop to a sweep, swinging the heat axe into the side of the armadillo's face like a baseball hit.

The high-temperature axe blade quickly slashed through the armadillo's cheek, dropping into its mouth in the process.

With a twist of his wrists, holding the heat axe, Yan Luo adjusted the blade downward, the weight of his shoulders pressing the blade into the armadillo's tongue root—

Rip!

—Cut it off!

"Arooo!!!"

Yan Luo's body was swept by the armadillo's paw, flung outward but cleverly controlling his body after flying dozens of meters, using his feet to step on the trunk of a giant tree, absorbing all the kinetic energy the armadillo imparted on him, stopping himself, and looking back in the direction he came from.

The giant armadillo had entered a state of fury!
