A Student with Multiverse Chat Group

Right now, I was walking with the top two beauties of Kuoh Academy and was on the spotlight for whole school. I don't like getting unnecessary attention, but if it's to piss off some passerbys, then I welcome it with open arms. It's not a mystery to everyone at this point, that I'm very close to both of them, since I spend most of my time in Occult Research Club, playing chess with her and Akeno occasionally.

I'm not part of her peerage, yet and but in future I had plans to do so. But now, with the introduction of chat group in my life, I have new doors opened for me and joining her peerage is out of consideration for me now. In my previous life after watching DxD, I really wanted to have my own peerage with beautiful females and that dream doesn't seem too far to me.

"So how did yesterday's stray hunt go?" asked Rias, disrupting my inner monologue that I was having in the moment.

"It went pretty well like usual. It slayed that stray in a single sword strike" I replied in a confident tone and asked her to get some reaction, "Are all stray devils so pathetic, Rias?"

"Well, it depends. If a powerful individual who gets turned into a devil, it might become a strong stray devil, but mostly are the weak ones" She explained which I already knew, but this isn't the answer I was expecting from her.

"Perhaps it's because he train everyday, fighting those wild monsters after the stray hunt" said Akeno. I was surprised that she knew about me training everyday inside that realm.

"Do you train everyday inside that realm, Rei?" asked Akeno in surprise, when she heard about training schedule inside the realm that Sona gave me access to. It was a realm named as 'Devil Playground' which had all sorts of powerful monsters on different mountains, there were over 900 mountains and I was on no. 41 right now. It's the realm made by Ajuka Beelzebub for the training of young devils and their peerages, but rarely any of them trains inside it.

One day, I requested Sona about borrowing it till we were in contract. She was hesitant at first, since it wasn't something out of devil's race were allowed to get access to. Luckily, she has a maou sister, who was so considerate of her little sister, that she allowed to lend it to me, till we were in a contract.

And I didn't let this opportunity go to waste and I've been training for months inside it and reached that level, after so much troubles and scars all over my body, which would fade as we escaped out of that realm. It was like a VR, but you're not controlling it, you're literally living inside it and experiencing each and everything.

"It's like a daily routine to me" I paused and drank some water since I was feeling so thirsty after all this time. Finishing the water bottle in my hand, I continued, "Thanks to Sona for lending me this realm, I have improved my sword skills and reflexes so much from slaying monsters in just few months. If she hadn't gave me access to that realm, I would still be struggling in dealing with stray devils right now"

She smiled and said, "It's a perk of being in contract with a devil. Just think of joining my peerage and you'll get more and better benefits than this one"

I just gave her a side glance to which she just sweatdropped, knowing what she did. She would randomly find some point in our conversation and would offer to join her peerage, I replied with a smirk to her 'offer',"For now, I am content with this realm and it's benefits. If I feel like that I'm no longer improving with stray devil hunting and fighting those monsters, I might consider your offer"

She just sighed at my response and that's how it ends, everytime she comes with an offer to join her peerage. I am not an anti peerage person, but I am certainly a anti slavery person.

"You should give up Rias, he wouldn't join your peerage anytime soon. He is like a free bird who doesn't want to be caged, right Rei?" said Akeno finally joining in the conversation, knowing very well that it's came to an end with my denial to her offer like usual.

To which, I nodded in approval and finally we reached our destination. Opening the door, we met with the sight of a petite girl with white hair and golden eyes, sitting on the couch. She was dressed in Kuoh Academy uniform.

Koneko Toujou, another member of the Occult Research club and Rias's peerage.

She was already inside the club room. It's as if she was using magic to reach this place before everyone. Otherwise, how would she reach here before us everytime? I walked further and sat on the opposite side of her couch, because we weren't close enough to sit beside each other yet.

"Hii, Koneko. How you doing?"

"Fine" came a single word reply from her, which I expected when I asked that question because that's what I ask everyday to her and get same response everyday.

"Rei, The reason why I called you here is to assist Koneko for hunting a stray devil lurking in the building behind Kuoh Supermarket. So would you go with her?" asked Rias sitting on her chair, while Akeno was brewing tea for her.

Why would she ask me to tag along with her? And also where is that blonde prince giving me smile for no reason. I don't know why but I am getting different vibes from him towards me lately, especially when I defeated him in the kendo match last week.

"What about Kiba? Where is he?" I asked redhead, about the whereabouts of missing prince of Kuoh Academy.

"I would've sent Kiba with Koneko, but he is busy with the kendo club girls for next week tournament. So, will you go with her?" requested Rias, which made me rethink my plans for the rest of day. What do I do? I really want to go back to home and laze around while chatting with the group members.

I've been taking missions regularly without skipping a single day and today when I got this chat group, I planned to take rest today because in the end, I'm a human unlike these devils.

I looked over to the little Nekomata, munching on cookies giving me her usual flat look to see if I would agree to join her or not. It would be a good chance to get close to her, so I should make use of this opportunity and not let it go to waste. She might get into trouble while fighting the devil and then I would show up in the last moment and she would probably fall in love with me? Well it's DxD, it can happen. So I am not going to blow this chance.

I nodded at her request and replied, "Alright, I'll go with her"

It's not that I couldn't deny going along with her. I have refused her couple of times, when I didn't feel like going on a mission. It's just for the reason I could get close to Koneko, but I don't see it happening anytime soon, I don't know why but I am getting that kind of feeling.

I turned to the door and headed towards slaying the next stray devil with new individual on my side.

"Let's go Koneko"

She got up from the couch, not before picking up several candies and placing inside her pocket. She got her priorities straight, mission or not, take the candies. A typical Clemenza moment.

We were standing outside the abandoned building behind the Kuoh supermarket. The building was giving a haunted spot feeling, the eeriness around it was enough to make any normal human to avoid this place. But here I was, standing beside a devil to slay a devil.

"So, are we going to head through main entrance, or do you have other plans?" I asked little nekomata giving a side glance, she turned to me and then replied in her usual monotone voice, "From the main door"

I smirked at her response and continued to walk ahead to greet the stray devil hiding inside the building, but not before, she grabbed my hand, which took me by surprise. I turned to her and she walked ahead, making me wonder, what she was thinking.

She kicked at the door so hard, that it went flying away inside, probably alarming the stray devil that was lurking inside. Does she do all the tasks like this, when she goes with Kiba?

"Senpai, you wait here. If I would need your help, I'll ask" said Koneko in a monotonous voice.

And with that, she went inside and in just five minutes, she came out with green liquid stuff on her and the familiar smell of stray devil, made me close my nose instantly. Taking out the handkerchief, she wiped off the blood and threw it away.

"It stinks"

I took out the perfume bottle that I brought with me earlier this morning. I asked her, if she wanted to try it, after using it on myself. She hesitated for a moment, but quickly approved when the smell was becoming too unbearable for her. She notified Rias about the completion of task, but surprisingly she didn't use the magic circle to go back and instead followed my lead through streets.

As I was wondering why she would tag along with me, instead of teleporting back to club room. She stopped abruptly in front of café, where I would visit on weekends with family sometimes. Her gaze was fixed on the ice cream that was ordered by someone inside the café. She took out her kitty wallet and it was empty surprisingly.

She let out a defeated sigh, but then I tapped on her shoulder and walked towards the entrance of the shop, "Let's go inside, Koneko. I would treat you with some ice cream"

Her eyes lit up in excitement before dropping back to her usual self. Nonetheless, she joined me to my little ice cream treat, and after having few cups of it, we walked out of the café with little dent on my pocket money that I was saving for, to buy new gaming console. Sigh! I have to wait another week, I guess.

We continued out walk once again back to our homes, which was coincidentally on the same path. She didn't talk to me even after the ice cream treat that I gave her, which made me little dissappointed. I was about to leave ahead, after we were standing in front of her appartment. She called out to me, which caused my eyes to widen in surprise.

"Senpai" I turned around to little nekomata to know what she had to say. Walking up to me, she extended her arm out and offered me one of her favourite candies. Taking it from her, I asked in surprise, "You're giving me this for treating you with ice cream?"

She shook her head in denial and replied, "For coming with me to the mission. I heard from President yesterday, that you've been taking mission regularly, without taking any break, and you wanted to take a day off. But still you came along with me. So, thanks"

Well, this is the first time I heard her talking more than a single sentence, which is an improvement in our non existent relationship. Honestly, I don't even get offended by how she treats me and is resistant with me like everyone else, knowing what was her backstory and what she suffered through at such a young age.

She perfectly fits the adage, 'Hate is the place where a man who couldn't stand sadness goes'. If I remember correctly I read it somewhere in manga rather on my school textbook, I wonder who said it?

"You don't have to thank me, Koneko. I did what a friend would do for his friend" I replied to her, to not get so worked up about such a small gesture.

She looked up to me and asked in a bit surprised tone, "Friend"

"Well, you might not consider me as one, but I do" I said while scratching back of my head, which caused her to look at me in awed look. She then turned her head down in embarassment, mumbling something to herself. I walked out ahead in my way while she was digesting my words, and with one last glance at her, I said to her with a reassuring smile, "So, if you ever need my help with something, don't hesitate to ask me"

And with that conversation with Koneko, I headed back to home to access the chat group, that I was longing for, ever since the lunch break was over. I planned on to use it, after the school was over, but all this happened and it's fine because now, there will be no interruptions.

As soon as I reached the home, I had my lunch and quickly went straight to my room to access the chat group. To make it appear in front of me, all I have to do is think about it and it will just pop up in front of me.

I proceeded just like it was written and familiar blue screen appeared in front of me. I looked over the chat section and it had over 760 messages, just what did they rant on, while I was away for such a short frame of time.

First thing, that came in front of me, was this,
