NOVEL NEXT Chapter 28: Chapter 28: The Requested Item Has Arrived
"Haah... This old monster, can't you access my memories?" Reiji asked, his tone a mix of curiosity and mockery.
"How could I? Everything here is under your control, you damn human!" Yamata-no-Orochi replied with an annoyed voice, its tail striking the invisible surface as if venting its frustration.
"Heh... Is that so? Well then, from now on, you'll just be a battery for me, right?" Reiji smiled faintly, his steps calm as if everything was under his control.
"Tch! Do whatever you want, you bastard human!" Yamata-no-Orochi hissed, its eyes radiating anger, even though it knew there was nothing it could do.
"Sure, you damn monster." Reiji said while walking away, his voice relaxed yet full of sarcasm.
"Oh! Don't forget to keep absorbing chakra. I'll need a lot of it after I wake up later." Reiji waved his hand casually before finally disappearing from sight.
Once Reiji left, Yamata-no-Orochi stared blankly ahead, before finally muttering in a low, angry voice, "Just wait, human. Slowly, I will take over your body. Damn human."
However, Reiji's voice suddenly sounded again, startling Yamata-no-Orochi. "Hey! I heard all of that, you bastard monster!"
"What?! Human, you can hear me?" Yamata-no-Orochi turned with a mixed expression of confusion and anger.
"Of course, you stupid monster. I can hear you very clearly!" Reiji's tone was full of satisfaction.
"Tch! Just go away, you bastard human!" Yamata-no-Orochi shouted in frustration.
"Hehehe, sure, sure!" Reiji chuckled softly, his voice fading as he disappeared from the room, leaving Yamata-no-Orochi alone with its boiling anger.
After exiting his subconscious space, Reiji let out a long sigh.
Reiji's tired face showed just how fed up he was with the previous conversation.
Without saying anything more, Reiji walked lazily toward his room.
As soon as he reached the bed, Reiji dropped his body onto the mattress, burying his face in the pillow, and quickly fell asleep, as if wanting to forget all the commotion that had just occurred.
The night passed without disturbance. The next morning, sunlight streaming through the window woke Reiji up.
Reiji blinked slowly, his half-open eyes staring blankly at the ceiling.
With a lazy expression, Reiji stretched and sat on the edge of the bed, rubbing his face for a moment before finally getting up slowly.
His steps were slow as Reiji made his way to the bathroom.
The cold shower fully awakened Reiji, washing away the remaining drowsiness.
After finishing his shower, Reiji dried himself with a towel and put on clean clothes.
In the middle of getting dressed, Reiji paused for a moment.
With a blank stare, Reiji decided to talk to Yamata-no-Orochi in his mind.
"Hey, how are you doing? How much chakra have you absorbed?" Reiji asked casually while looking at his reflection in the mirror.
"Hmph! I don't know. But for sure, it's much more than what you have, of course." Yamata-no-Orochi's voice echoed in Reiji's mind with an annoyed tone.
"Of course, you stupid thing. After all, I'm just a kid, you damn monster!" Reiji retorted with annoyance, his expression changing for a moment.
"What did you say, damn it!" Yamata-no-Orochi shouted angrily in his mind, its voice echoing like thunder splitting the silence of his thoughts.
A knock on the door interrupted their conversation. "Knock! Knock! Knock!"
Reiji frowned, then walked slowly toward the door.
Reiji opened the door with a quick pull.
"Yes, what is it?" Reiji asked, his voice sounding lazy.
In front of Reiji stood an Anbu from Uzushio dressed entirely in black, its mask adding a mysterious aura.
In the Anbu's hand was a small scroll.
"This is the item you requested."
"The Clan Head said everything you need is in this storage seal."
