Chapter 217: Punishment? Reward?
"So that's how it is... So you came to find me just to take me to see a house?"
Shin looked at the large mansion in front of him and asked the girl beside him, Ai Hayasaka.
The Shinomiya family seemed to take his request very seriously. After learning that Shin was planning to find a new place to live, they immediately began searching for options.
Soon, they identified a luxurious mansion not far from Shin's original apartment, quickly purchased it, and then sent Ai Hayasaka to show it to Shin.
However, precisely because this luxurious mansion was not far from Shin's apartment, he had occasionally passed by it before: "But I remember that when I occasionally passed by here, I could see that this mansion was occupied. Does that person have any connection to the Shinomiya family?"
"No, that family has no connection to the Shinomiya family, but the Shinomiya family has their ways to make them sell the house."
Ai Hayasaka's face carried a calm smile—unlike Shinomiya Kaguya, Ai Hayasaka had indeed come into contact with some of the Shinomiya family's more hidden aspects.
As a major conglomerate, it was only natural for them to have some methods. The owner of this house wasn't part of any major power, so it didn't even require the intervention of the Kiryu Group to settle the matter easily.
"While preserving the interior decor, the Shinomiya family has already sent people to replace all the daily necessities inside today."
Ai Hayasaka took out a set of keys and handed them to Shin.
"Since the mansion is quite large, some maids have also been assigned to work here. If you wish, you can move in right away."
To ensure Shin's satisfaction, the Shinomiya family had put in a lot of effort, arranging everything in such a short time.
Shin thought for a moment, then shook his head:
"No rush, let's go inside and take a look first."
Shin wasn't entirely sure about the condition of the mansion, so he decided to hold off on making a decision until he had seen it for himself.
If the interior also met his expectations, then he might consider living here—it would also be a good preparation for the possibility of more people joining his household in the future.
...
Afterward, Ai Hayasaka spent half an hour showing Shin around every part of the mansion.
Although the house had been purchased from someone else, many areas inside had been thoroughly cleaned, and the daily necessities had been replaced, making it look as good as new.
If possible, the Shinomiya family would have preferred to provide Shin with a brand-new house.
But obviously, the Shinomiya family didn't have the capability to build a new villa from scratch in a single day.
"So, what do you think? Does this house meet your expectations?"
Finally, in the master bedroom of the mansion, Ai Hayasaka and Shin concluded their tour.
Shin sat on the bed, while Ai Hayasaka stood by the bedside, asking him.
"Not bad."
Shin nodded. The Shinomiya family's arrangements were quite good. Everything in the house was in order, and there were many maids assigned to the mansion.
Moreover, the Shinomiya family had clearly guessed Shin's preferences—the maids were all quite beautiful, perhaps not quite on Ai Hayasaka's level, but they could all be considered lovely young women.
The only regret was the absence of a head maid—originally, the Shinomiya family had hoped Ai Hayasaka would take on that role, but she had temporarily declined the offer.
"After all, my current surface identity is still Miss Kaguya's maid... I'm still a bit worried about her."
Ai Hayasaka was somewhat troubled by this situation and shared her thoughts with Shin.
"Although Miss Kaguya poses almost no threat to Shinomiya Oko's inheritance rights, Shinomiya Oko still sees her as an enemy."
Shin was well aware of this. It was just one of the many issues that came with being part of a large family.
"Right now, while I'm by Miss Kaguya's side, I can still manage things to some extent. But if I leave, and Shinomiya Oko sends someone new to Miss Kaguya's side, that person might not take care of her as I do."
Ai Hayasaka sighed.
"So, for now, I can't leave Miss Kaguya... Master, I hope you can understand."
"Alright, I can understand."
Shin didn't feel the need to force Ai Hayasaka to leave Shinomiya Kaguya. After hearing her explanation, he nodded.
"But even so, there still needs to be some punishment."
"Punishment?"
A look of confusion appeared on Ai Hayasaka's face, but then she felt Shin grab her arm and pull her onto the bed.
By this point, Ai Hayasaka had realized what Shin meant by "punishment."
A faint blush spread across her cheeks, and she couldn't help but smile:
"Master... is this really a punishment?"
"For most people, it would be a punishment. But for you, maybe it's more of a reward?"
Shin also smiled.
...
"Shin Kun, welcome back."
When Shin returned home, he saw Irisviel and Sayu Ogiwara sitting at the dining table, waiting for him.
It was Irisviel who spoke, looking at Shin with curiosity.
"Shin Kun, didn't you say you didn't have any club activities today? Why are you back so late?"
"I had a chat with an acquaintance, which took a bit longer."
Shin was still full of energy. As a Saiyan, even after over an hour of intense activity, he felt no pressure at all.
As for Ai Hayasaka, who had been chatting with him, she would probably need to rest in that bedroom for a while longer before she had the strength to return to Shinomiya Kaguya.
Although the process of their "chat" might have been a reward for Ai Hayasaka, the outcome could still be considered a form of punishment.
At the very least, Ai Hayasaka would have to come up with a good explanation for why she returned so late.
"It must have been a chat with a cute girl, right?"
Sayu Ogiwara seemed to have picked up on something, giving Shin a meaningful look.
She wasn't angry, just a little jealous—although Shin still seemed full of energy, she had noticed a different scent on him.
It must have been a girl who knew how to dress well, with the faint fragrance of foundation.
The more innocent Irisviel, however, hadn't noticed anything.
After hearing Sayu Ogiwara's words, Irisviel nodded in agreement:
"That's true. Shin Kun is probably quite popular with girls."
After putting his bag away, Shin sat down at the dining table and began eating dinner.
Sayu Ogiwara had clearly remembered what Shin had said that morning, as the amount of food prepared for dinner was much larger than usual, catering to Shin's increased appetite.
While eating, Shin also brought up the topic of moving:
"Next, I plan to move us to a bigger place."
Sayu Ogiwara and Irisviel didn't know exactly how much "bigger" this place would be, but they both agreed without much thought.
