A Professor of Magic at Hogwarts

Chapter 665: Easter Holiday - (1)

For Felix, the Easter holiday meant dealing with some matters.

The Future World Company, having experienced the war, was now expanding again. More than a third of the people were new faces. Felix took advantage of the holiday to get to know the new employees, many of whom were humanoid races.

"As per your request, we've hired several employees from various species: veelas, vampires, werewolves, fairies... Each type has recruited six or seven employees. There are even two giants, though nobody was willing to live with them," Lupin said, dark circles under his eyes but in good spirits. "Most of them are half-breeds, capable of using wands and easy to communicate with. I've assigned them tasks to suggest improvements to existing products and to promote our products in different gathering places—mainly through bartering."

Felix nodded. "What about centaurs and merpeople?"

"Progress is slow. Centaurs are quite insular, and merpeople, their half-breeds with wizards are rare, and even if there are any, they're not willing to move around in the wizarding world," Lupin said.

"Ah, I see. Any interesting stories?"

"Werewolves idolize you." Seeing Felix's surprised expression, Lupin smiled. "Didn't you recruit some werewolves at Hogwarts? They were amazed to see your transformation, and now the news has spread."

"...They don't think I'm a werewolf too, do they?"

"Sounds lively," Felix said satisfactorily.

He had spent a week at Sword Castle, walking through every room. The house elves welcomed him warmly. It seemed they loved their work environment and communal living. He also saw Dobby. Although Dobby was the house elf he was closest to, Dobby still participated in actual work. Unlike wizards, house elves generally considered not working shameful.

Even Dobby only asked for a little salary, not to avoid work.

"Sir, we've prepared a gift for you," Dobby said shrilly, the little ones stepping aside to reveal a huge Easter egg. Felix estimated that it could accommodate a house elf to live in. Each piece of eggshell was carved with a house elf's name in chocolate.

Felix expressed his thanks repeatedly.

"I have gifts for you too," he said, flying out hundreds of circular chestnut wood pieces from his ring. Each piece shimmered with golden letters, engraved with the name of each house elf and a sentence like 'Outstanding Employee,' with the Sword Castle relief pattern on the back.

...

Harry and Ron had completed the first step of preparing for the Animagus transformation a few days before the holiday. They hid crystal vials at the edge of the Forbidden Forest and faithfully chanted the incantation morning and evening.

The promotion of Animagus among students spread, and they gradually reached a consensus: to learn Animagus, one must first study Patronus.

The professor of Charms class responded to this idea and explained this part of the knowledge in the last class before the holiday.

"I heard Professor Flitwick plans to include the Patronus Charm in the curriculum," Ron said.

"This magic is not easy to practice," Harry said, thinking of his own practice with the Patronus Charm. Even if he didn't count himself, others had been practicing sporadically for almost half a year, but in the end, only a handful could master it.

"There will always be a way," Ron replied optimistically.

"What about Hermione?"

"Maybe she went to see Valen? If the professor isn't here, Valen is even less supervised. Well, we can go outside the castle, maybe we'll encounter a Snorkack and a beaver..."

"Or go watch that animated film I told you about last time!"

"Forget it, I'll think about Quidditch tactics. Because I was lying in the hospital for two weeks, we lost a match. The score was very close, and the last few matches are crucial." Harry thought for a moment and said.

"Isn't Dumbledore supposed to teach you during the holiday?"

Harry shook his head.

"Headmaster Dumbledore said he had some family matters to attend to."

"Family matters!" Ron widened his eyes. "He only has one relative left, right?"

"Exactly," Harry said softly. "Aberforth Dumbledore from the Hog's Head Inn."

"So, his holiday accommodation is really terrible," Ron shook his head, pretending to sigh.

...

During the holiday, Felix also visited the Ministry of Magic. Bones was very interested in the recent rumors, lifting her monocle from a stack of documents.

So Felix conjured a werewolf arm and crushed a cup in front of her.

"That's my favorite cup!" Bones raised her eyebrows.

Felix shrugged, restoring the arm and cup together. His gaze fell on a jigsaw puzzle hanging on the wall, teasingly saying, "I thought this was your favorite." As a result, because he spoke the truth, he was kicked out.

Before leaving, Bones told him something.

"Babajide wants to see you."

"The new President of the International Confederation of Wizards?"

Bones gave an affirmative look, tossing him a business card with faint magic flowing on the card.

Felix showed some interest.

"I see, but not now. Probably in the summer vacation."

"It's up to you. Everyone's quite busy," she said, then stared at Felix with envy. "Maybe after retirement, I'll consider teaching at Hogwarts for a few years. At least you have time to do research..."

Felix didn't seem too pleased. He withdrew his right hand from the doorknob, deciding to let this woman know his true workload. The reason he was so leisurely was entirely due to the time he squeezed out for himself.

So when Dawlish knocked on the door and entered, he saw their minister submerged in a thick stack of parchment and painfully rubbing his temples. Felix, with a smile, held a teacup and quietly urged her on, occasionally giving comments on her work.

"Efficiency, Amelia, efficiency! You've just finished grading a hundred and three essays, and by the end of the day—" he glanced at the time, "you might be able to finish two hundred." For some reason, Bones' expressionless face showed a slight movement in her nostrils, emitting rough breaths.

"Dawlish!" Bones jumped up, solemnly and seriously asked, "Tell me, how's the situation now?"

Dawlish looked at his boss blankly.

What does she mean? I don't have much to report. She just wants to take a leave. There's nothing going on lately, and she wants to go back early to have some alone time.

Bones' sharp gaze pierced through her monocle like a hawk, staring at Dawlish.

What's the meaning of this? I don't have much to report, she just wants to take a leave. There's nothing going on lately, and she wants to go back early to have some alone time.

Bones' sharp gaze pierced through her monocle like a hawk, staring at Dawlish.
