Chapter 149. Guild!
The next day soon came by as I dine in the garden, sipping on a nice cup of coffee while staring at the wonderful garden around me. They were maintained by the gardeners who come here once in a while, from roses to tulips, they planted a lot of beautiful flowers.
“Hmm… I am bored,” I looked up with a bitter smile.
“Aren’t you going to go on a short five-day adventure, my lady?” Tanya asked as I nodded.
“To be exact, I am only going on an adventure for two days. I have another appointment on the 22nd which is three days from now then my debutante party on 26th which means we will have to leave for the capital on the 23rd and we will be staying there for at least ten to twenty days I think…” I replied before she nodded.
The capital is not that far from here, but we have to take into consideration preparations for the party which by itself might take even longer than three days, though I trust that the Duchess and Duke have already prepared most by themselves.
“What appointment do you have on the 22nd, if you don’t mind me asking, my lady?” Tanya inquired as I smiled.
“You can expect a very high-profile guest that is more high-profile than Mother herself to arrive here with some nobles from another kingdom,” I replied before she looked at me a bit surprised paired with faint confusion but nodded anyway as she didn’t inquire anymore.
After taking the last sip of my tea, I soon stood up and stretched my arms a bit before looking up at the sky with a smile, “I will be preparing to go for a short adventure, the five of you including Sheena who has been gone for a little while now can make decisions without my consent within those two days.”
“If there is any critical decision to make then discuss it within the five of you and the councils as well if you need to. I trust all of your decisions since the four of you are people who I chose to be on my side,” I said.
Suddenly, she kneeled on one foot while placing her hand on her chest as she looked up at me with determined eyes, “As you wish, my lady.”
After hearing her affirmation, I soon started walking back to the manor up to my room where I made sure not to leave anything behind. I didn’t need any bag since there won’t be much I need to bring other than a few gold coins and some food.
“This should be enough…” I mumbled to myself before undressing myself as I took a non-puffy dress from the wardrobe. It was a simple plain white dress that would fit under my hood, with no weapons, armor, or shields since I don’t think there is any monster or spell that can pass through my anti-magic.
A few glances at the mirror and I was ready to go. My hair was draped down, my beautiful face was the same beautiful face as always and there wasn’t anything strange about my appearance. After a few more glances, I soon walked out of the room where Tanya and the others were waiting.
“Are you leaving now, milady?” Raeliana asked.
“Mhm, Tanya should have told you about everything. I will be leaving for two days then come back at midnight maybe, the four of you don’t have to wait. As I said a while back, if there is anything that requires urgency, decide among yourselves what the best course of action would be and do it, do you understand?” I looked at them before all of them nodded.
“Please come back safely, my lady,” Lia said while Faron averted her gaze, he seems a little bitter from losing yesterday, according to what I heard, he has been training harder than usual which made me giggle inside.
“All of you don’t exhaust yourselves, be sure to be healthy once I come back…” I said while taking a wide hug with all of them. They were my motivation, my allies, and my family for the past few months, people who I trust, and the people who I care for.
After the hug, I soon walked downstairs and towards the gate where they sent me off. As soon as I reached the outside, I then looked for an alleyway where I transformed into my vampiric form safely and started walking towards the guild which wasn’t that far.
The guild was around a few minutes’ walk from the manor, though many people kept gazing at me for some reason. It felt very weird since I made sure that all my vampiric features were well-hidden, there were no wings around me nor were there any horns peeking out.
It was like the people were gazing at me with curiosity, maybe because this form looks pretty noble? Well, I do admit. Me in this form is indeed very adorable, especially the white hair which looks magnificent. It was on par or even greater than the one on Ayumi Windsor.
“Oh well…” I mumbled to myself before entering inside the guild as everyone stared at me before all of their faces paled as soon as they saw me. Whispers around the guild about ‘the devil’ arriving could be heard from all sides.
The ‘massacre’ from before may have implanted a sense of fear onto them, though that’s strange, there shouldn’t be much who have seen my performance in the training hall against the coal, tomato sauce, and that old uncle.
“Hey brat, where are you going?” a brave man suddenly stood in front of me, lowering himself as he looked at me with a mocking smile, “Are you perhaps lost, young kiddo? How about going to the nursery? This place doesn’t seem to be for you, little brat.”
In an instant, people looked at the ‘brave man’ with sympathy. Many of them were already whispering about how to announce his death to his family which made me laugh inside as I looked at him straight in the eye, “I am indeed lost, do you perhaps know where the nursery is?”
“Ah! You were indeed lost brat. How about you come with me, let me guide you to the nursery?” he replied with a disgusting look on his face. People like him should die in a fire, disgusting even though my body looks like a little girl on this form, he still looked at me with lust—yikes.
“Please guide me then,” I smiled before materializing my scythe as I sliced off both his arms mercilessly before casting several fire spells onto the two arms that were on the ground, burning them into ashes as I released a large amount of mana pointing at him, “To hell… I mean.”
Immediately, a loud scream echoed from him as he fell to the floor. Blood spilled from his shoulders that now lacked arms, he looked at the ashes with his red, wide eyes as the blade of my scythe circled around his head, “You do not deserve to live here.”
“How many children have you touched? How many people have you killed?” I asked from behind without even taking a glance at him, just imagining the number of people he touched threw my heart in fury. To think that people like him existed, it seems like I have to do a massive purge soon, “You don’t have to answer… I won’t kill you but don’t expect to escape from jail.”
After saying that last sentence, I soon dematerialized my scythe before looking at the door where several guards were waiting. They looked like they wanted to question me but were afraid to do so after seeing what happened which made me sigh in annoyance.
“Take him away, tell your captain to lock him up in the dungeon. As for his crimes: pedophilia, attempted kidnapping,” I said while taking out the Windsor family badge which I always carry around.
The guards who saw the badge flinched a bit before nodding without hesitation as they dragged the bloody man out of the guild while I turned back to the other people around the guild with a bitter smile, “Sorry for disturbing your meal, I will pay for all the meals under twenty silver coins per person.”
Immediately after my declaration, cheers roared around the guild as I walked towards the counter with a smile. The receptionist was a bit afraid, but it didn’t matter to me as I handed her two gold coins which should be enough to pay for everyone’s meal, “That is the payment for everyone’s meal, do you mind if I see your guild master?”
“I am so—”
“You don’t have to ask, young missy. There isn’t even a single person to stop you if you ever wanted to demolish this entire guild by yourself, let alone stop you from meeting me,” the familiar voice of the guild master echoed followed by his laughter as everyone looked at the second floor, flaunting those muscles of his once again.
Everyone was surprised to see him, well except me but you get what I mean. He didn’t even walk down the stairs and simply jumped off from the second floor, landing in front of me as he handed a simple silver card, “Here’s your identification card, young missy. You came a bit earlier than I expected.”
“There was little to do, anyway, I am here to explore a dungeon or two that hasn’t been conquered around here. Do you have a list of any?” I looked at him in the eye before he frowned a bit.
“Indeed, there is one located at the north. It hasn’t been conquered since its discovery three years ago, though there is one issue with the dungeon…” he answered which intrigued me as he added, “The dungeon of Fiona which is located north from here has a death rate of 100% with unknown causes…”
